²⁴ If I had not done workes among them which none other man dyd, they had not had synne. But now haue they sene, & yet haue hated both me & my father:

⁵ Se that thou neither bowe thy self vnto them neither serue them: for I the Lord thy God, am a gelouse God, & viset the synne of the fathers vppon the chyldren vnto the thyrd and fourth generacion of them that hate me:

⁹ Thou shalt neither bowe thy selfe to them, nor serue them, for I the Lorde thy God, am a gelous God, visitynge thy wyckednes of the fathers vpon the children, euen in the third and fourth generation, among them that hate me:

¹⁵ The haters of the Lord should mysse Israel, but their tyme shoulde endure for euer.

³⁶ But who so offendeth agaynste me, hurteth hys owne soule. All they that hate me, are the louers of death.

³³ And as sone as the deuyl was cast out, the domme spake: And the people meruayled: sayinge: it was neuer so sene in Israell.

⁵ The blinde se, the halt go, the lepers are clensed: the deaf heare, the dead ryse againe, and the glade tydinges is preached to the poore.

²⁰ Then began he to vpbrayd the cytyes, in which most of his miracles were done, because they mended not. ²¹ Wo be to the Chorasin. Wo be to the Bethzaida: for if the miracles which were shewed in you, had be done in Tyre and Sidon, they had repented longe agone in sackcloth and ashes. ²² Neuerthelesse I saye to you: it shall be easier for Tyre and Sydon at the daye of iudgement, then for you. ²³ And thou Capernaum, which art lyft vp vnto heauen, shall be brought doune to hell. For if the miracles which haue bene done in the, had be shewed in Zodome: they had remayned to this daye. ²⁴ Neuerthelesse I saye vnto you: it shall be easyer for the lande of Zodom in the daye of iudgement, then for the.

³² For Iohn came vnto you in the waye of ryghtuousnes, and ye beleued hym not. But the Publicans and the harlotes beleued hym. And yet ye (thoughe ye sawe it) were not yet moued wyth repentaunce, that ye myght afterwarde haue beleued hym.

¹² And by and by he arose, toke vp the bedde, & wente forthe before them all: in so muche that they were all amased, and glorifyed God sayinge: we neuer saw it on thys fasshyon.

³⁷ And when he was nowe come, where he shoulde go doune from the mount Oliuete, the whole multitude of the discyples beganne to reioyce, and to laude God with a loude voyce for all the myracles that they had sene, ³⁸ saying: Blessed be the kyng that cometh in the name of the Lorde: peace in heauen, and glorye in the hyest. ³⁹ And some of the Phariseis of the companye sayde vnto him: Mayster rebuke thy disciples. ⁴⁰ He aunswered and sayed vnto them: I tell you, yf these shoulde holde theyr peace, the stones woulde crye.

¹⁹ To whom he sayde: what thinges? And they sayde vnto him: of Iesus of Nazareth which was a Prophete, mighty in dede and worde before God, and all the people.

² The same came to Iesus by nyghte & sayed vnto him: Rabbi, we knowe that thou art a teacher whiche art come from God. For no man coulde do such miracles as thou doest, except God were wt him.

³⁶ But I haue greater witnes then the witnes of Iohn. For the workes which the father hath geuen me to fynyshe the same workes which I do, beare witnes of me that the father sent me.

³⁶ But I saye vnto you: that ye haue sene me, and yet beleue not.

³¹ Many of the people beleued on him and sayd: when Christe cometh wyl he do mo miracles then this man hath done?

³² Sence the worlde began: was it not hearde that any man opened the eies of one that was borne blynde.

³² Iesus aunswered them: manye good workes haue I shewed you from my father: for whiche of them wyll ye stone me?

³⁷ yf I do not the workes of my father, beleue me not.

⁴⁷ Then gathered the hye Priestes and Pharyses a counsel and sayd: What do we? This man doth many myracles: ⁴⁸ yf we let hym scape thus, all men wyll beleue on hym, & the Romaynes shall come and take away our countrey and the people. ⁴⁹ And one of them named Cayphas which was the hye prieste that same yeare sayde vnto them: ye perceyue nothynge at all, nor yet consyder that ⁵⁰ it is expedyent for vs, that one man dye for the people, & not that all the people peryshe.

¹⁰ The hye priestes therfore helde a counsel, that they myght put Lazarus to death also,

³⁷ And though he had done so many myracles before them, yet beleued not they on hym, ³⁸ that the saiynge of Esayas the Prophete myght be fulfylled, that he spake. Lorde, who shall beleue our saiyng? And to whome is the arme of the Lorde opened? ³⁹ Therfore coulde they not beleue, because that Esayas sayth agayne: ⁴⁰ he hath blynded theyr eyes and hardened theyr hertes, that they shoulde not se with theyr eyes, and vnderstand with theyr hertes, and shoulde be conuerted, and I shoulde heale them.

⁴⁵ And he that seeth me, seeth hym that sent me.

⁹ Iesus sayd vnto hym. Haue I bene so longe tyme with you, and yet haste thou not knowen me? Philip, he that hath sene me, hath sene the father. And how sayest thou then: shew vs the father?

²² Ye men of Israel heare these wordes: Iesus of Nazareth, a man approued of God amonge you wyth miracles, woundres, and signes whiche God dyd by hym in the middes of you, as ye your selues knowe:

³⁸ howe God had annoynted Iesus of Nazareth wyth the holy ghost, and wyth power. Whiche Iesus went about doynge good, and healinge all that were oppressed of the deuils for God was wyth him.

³⁰ backbiters, haters of God, doers of wronge, proude, bosters, bryngers vp of euyll thinges, disobedient to father and mother,

⁷ Because that the fleshlye minde is enemy agaynste God: for it is not obediente to the lawe of God, neyther can be. ⁸ So then they that are geuen to the fleshe, can not please God.

⁴ traytours, headye, hye mynded, gredy vpon voluptuousnes more then the louers of God,

³ howe shal we escape, yf we despise so great saluacyon, whyche at the fyrst began to be preached of the Lorde hym selfe, and afterward was confirmed to vswarde, by them that hearde it, ⁴ God bearynge wytnesse therto, both wyth signes and wonders also, and with diuers miracles, and giftes of the holy ghoste, according to his own will.

⁴ Ye aduouterers, & women that breake matrimonye: knowe ye not, how that the frendeshyppe of the worlde is enmitie to God warde? Who so euer wyl be a frende of the worlde, is made the enemy of God.
