¹⁶ Ye haue not chosen me, but I haue chosen you and ordeyned you, that ye go & bringe forth frute, and that your frute remayne, and that whatsoeuer ye shall axe of the father in my name, he shoulde geue it to you.

¹⁸ seynge that Abraham shal be a great & a myghtie people, & all the nacions of the erth shalbe blessed in him?

¹⁸ Forsake me not, O GOD, in myne olde age, when I am gray headed: vntyll I haue shewed thyne arme vnto chylders chyldren, and thy power to all them that are yet for to come.

⁴ That we shoulde not hyde them from the chyldren of the generations to come: but to shewe the honoure of the Lorde, hys myghte and wonderfull worckes that he hath done. ⁵ He made a couenaunte wyth Iacob, and gaue Israel a lawe, whiche he commaunded oure forefathers to teache their chyldren. ⁶ That their posterytye myghte knowe it, and the chyldren whych were yet vnborne. To thintent that when they came vp they myghte shewe their chyldren the same.

⁴ One generacion shall prayse thy workes vnto another, and declare thy power.

³⁰ The frute of the righteous is as the tree of lyfe, a wyse man also wynneth mens soules.

⁶ It wyll come to thys poynte, that Iacob shalbe roted agayne, & Israel shallbe grene, and beare floures, and they shall fyll the whole worlde with theyr frute.

¹ Ye Iles, herken vnto me, & take hede ye people from farre. The Lorde hath called me from my byrth, and made mencion of my name from my mothers womb: ² he hath made my mouth like a sharp swerd vnder the shadowe of hys hande hath he defended me, & hyd me in hys quyuer, as a good arowe, ³ and sayde vnto me: Thou arte my seruaunt Israel, I wylbe honoured in the.

¹⁰ And lyke as the rayne & snowe commeth doune from heauen, & returneth not thyther agayne, but watereth the earthe, maketh it frutefull and grene, that it maye geue corne and breade vnto the sower: ¹¹ So the worde also that commeth oute of my mouthe shall not turne agayne voyde vnto me, but shall accomplysh my wil & prospere in the thinge, whereto I sende it. ¹² And so shall ye go forth with ioye, & be led with peace. The mountaynes & hilles shal sing with you for ioye, and all the trees of the feld shall clappe theyr handes. ¹³ For thornes, there shall growe. Fyrre trees, & the Myrre tre in the steade of breres. And thys shall be done to the prayse of the Lorde, and for an euerlasting token, that shall not be taken awaye.

⁵ Before I fashyoned the in thy mothers wombe, I did know the. And or euer thou wast borne, I sanctifyed the, and ordeyned the, to be a Prophete vnto the people. ⁶ Then sayde I: Oh Lorde God, I am vnmete, for I am yet but younge. ⁷ And the Lorde answered me thus: Saye not so, I am to younge. For thou shalt go to al that I shall sende the vnto, and whatsoeuer I commaund the, that shalt thou speake.

⁷ And the remnaunt of Iacob shalbe amonge the multytude of people, as the dewe of the Lorde, and as the droppes vpon the grasse, that tarieth for no man, & wayteth of no body.

⁴ Be not ye lyke youre forefathers, vnto whom the Prophetes cryed afore tyme, sayinge: Thus sayeth the Lord God of hostes. Turne you from youre euyll wayes, & from your wicked ymaginacyons. But thei wolde not heare, nor regarde me, sayeth the Lorde. ⁵ What is nowe become of your forefathers & the prophetes? are they yet styll aliue? ⁶ But dyd not my wordes and statutes (which I commaunded by my seruauntes the prophetes) touche your forefathers? Vpon this, they gaue aunswere and sayde: lyke as the Lord of hostes deuysed to do vnto vs, accordynge to oure owne wayes & ymagynacyons, euen so hath he dealte wyth vs.

²² And whatsoeuer ye shall axe in prayer (yf ye beleue) ye shall receyue it.

¹⁸ And Iesus came and spake vnto them saiynge: all power is geuen vnto me in heauen and in earth. ¹⁹ Go therfore & teache all nacyons, baptisyng them in the name of the father, and the sonne, & the holye ghoste.

¹⁵ And he sayed to them: Go ye into all the worlde, and preache the glad tydynges to all creatures, ¹⁶ he that beleueth & is baptised, shall be saued. But he that beleueth not, shalbe damned.

¹³ And assone as it was daye, he called his disciples, and of them he chose .xij. whiche also he called Apostles:

⁴⁷ and that repentaunce and remissyon of synnes shoulde be preached in his name amonge all nacions. And must begynne at Ierusalem. ⁴⁸ And ye are witnesses of these thinges. ⁴⁹ And beholde, I wyl sende the promes of my father vpon you. But tary ye in the citye of Ierusalem, vntyll ye be endewed with power from an hye.

⁷⁰ Iesus aunswered them: Haue not I chosen you twelue, and yet one of you is the deuyll?

¹⁸ I speake not of you all. I knowe whome I haue chosen. But that the scripture myght be fulfylled, he that eateth bread with me hath lyft vp hys hele agaynst me.

¹³ And whatsoeuer ye axe in my name that will I do that the father myght be glorifyed by the sonne. ¹⁴ Yf ye shall axe any thyng in my name, I wyl do it.

⁷ Yf ye hyd in me and my wordes also hyd in you: axe what ye wyll, and it shalbe done to you. ⁸ Here is my father glorifyed that ye beare muche fruyte, and be made my disciples.

¹⁹ Yf ye were of the worlde, the worlde woulde loue his owne. Howe be it because ye are not of the worlde, but I haue chosen you out of the worlde, therfore hateth you the worlde.

²³ And in that day shal ye axe me no question. Verely verely I say vnto you: whatsoeuer ye shall axe the father in my name, he wyll geue it you. ²⁴ Hytherto haue ye axed nothyng in my name. Axe and ye shall receyue it, that your ioye maye be full.

²¹ Then sayde Iesus to them agayne: peace be with you. As my father sente me euen so sende I you. ²² And when he had sayd that he brethed on them and sayde. Receyue the holy ghost. ²³ Whosoeuers synnes ye remyt they are remitted vnto them. And whosoeuers synnes ye retayne, they are retayned.

¹⁵ When they had dyned. Iesus sayd to Simon Peter: Simon Ioanna, louest thou me more then these? He sayd vnto him: ye Lorde thou knowest that I loue the. He saide vnto him: fede me lambes. ¹⁶ He saied to him again the seconde tyme? Simon Ioanna, louest thou me? He saied vnto him: yea Lorde thou knowest that I loue the. He saied vnto him: fede me shepe: ¹⁷ He saied vnto him the thyrde tyme: Simon Ioanna, louest thou me? And Peter sorowed, because he saied to him the thirde time, louest thou me, and said vnto him: Lord, thou knowest all thinge: thou knowest that I loue the. Iesus sayd vnto him: fede me shepe.

⁸ but ye shall receiue power of the holy ghost, whiche shall come on you. And ye shall be witnesses vnto me in Hierusalem, and in al Iewrye, and in Samary and euen vnto the worldes ende.

²⁴ And they praysed saiynge: thou Lorde whyche knowest the hertes af all men, shewe whether of these two thou hast chosen,

¹⁵ The Lorde said vnto him: go thy wayes for he is a chosen vessel vnto me, to beare me name before the gentyls and kynges, and the chyldren of Israel.

⁴¹ not to all the people, but vnto vs witnesses chosen before of God, whiche eate and dronke wyth him, after he arose from death.

²⁵ And now beholde, I am sure that henceforth ye al (through whom I haue gone preachyng the kingdom of God) shal se my face no more. ²⁶ Wherfore I take you to recorde this same daye that I am pure from the bloud of all men. ²⁷ For I haue kept nothynge backe, but haue shewed you all the counsell of God. ²⁸ Take hede therfore vnto youre selues, and to all the flocke wherof the holy ghoste hath made you ouersears, to rule the congregacyon of God, which he hath purchased wt hys bloude.

¹⁴ And he sayde: the God of oure fathers hath ordeyned the before, that thou shouldeste knowe hys wyll, and shouldeste se that which is ryghtfull: and shouldest heare the voyce of hys mouth:

⁵ by whom we haue receyued grace and Apostleshyp, to brynge all maner heathen people vnto the obedience of the fayth that is in his name:

¹³ I woulde that ye shoulde knowe bretherne, howe that I haue often tymes purposed to come vnto you (but haue bene let hitherto) to haue some fruite amonge you, as I haue amonge other of the Gentyls.

¹¹ yer the children were borne, when they had neither done good nor bad: that the purpose of God whiche is by election, might stand, it was sayed vnto her, not by the reason of workes, but by grace of the caller: ¹² the elder shall serue the yonger. ¹³ As it is wrytten: Iacob loued, but Esau he hated. ¹⁴ What shall we saye then? is there any vnrightuousnes with God? God forbid. ¹⁵ For he sayth to Moyses: I will shewe mercy to whom I shewe mercy: and wyll haue compassion ¹⁶ on whom I will haue compassion. So lyeth it not then in a mans wil or cunnynge, but in the mercy of God.

²¹ Hath not the potter power ouer the clay euen of the same lumpe to make one vessell vnto honoure, and another vnto dishonoure?

⁴ Whatsoeuer thynges are wrytten afore tyme, are wrytten for oure learnyng, that we thorowe pacyence and comforte of the scrypture myght haue hope.

¹⁵ Neuerthelesse brethren I haue some what boldelye wrytten vnto you, as one that putteth you in remembraunce thorowe the grace that is geuen me of God, ¹⁶ that I should be the minister of Iesu Christe amonge the Gentyles, and should minister the glad tydynges of God, that the gentils myghte be an acceptable offerynge, sanctifyed by the holye ghoste. ¹⁷ I haue therfore where of I maye reioyce in Christe Iesu, in those thynges which partayne to God. ¹⁸ For I dare not speake of anye of those thynges whiche Christe hath not wrought by me, to make the gentyls obedient, with worde and dede, ¹⁹ in myghty sygnes and wonders, by the power of the spirite of God: so that from Hierusalem and the coastes rounde about vnto Illiricum, I haue fylled al countreys with the glad tydynges of Christe.

⁶ I haue planted, Apollo watred: but God gaue the increase. ⁷ So then neyther is he that planteth anye thinge neyther he that watreth: but God that gaue the increase.

¹⁶ In that I preache the Gospel, I haue nothinge to reioyce of. For necessytye is put vnto me. Wo is it vnto me yf I preach not the Gospel. ¹⁷ Yf I do it wyth a good wil, I haue a rewarde. But yf I do it against my wyl, an offyce is committed vnto me. ¹⁸ What is my reward then? Verelye, that when I preache the Gospell, I make the Gospell of Christ fre, that I misuse not myne authoryte in the Gospell.

¹¹ Al these thinges happened vnto them for ensamples, and were written to put vs in remembraunce, whom the endes of the world are come vpon.

¹⁵ But when it pleased God (whiche separated me from my mothers wombe, and called me by hys grace,

¹⁰ For we are his worckmanshyp created in Christe Iesus to good workes, vnto the, whyche God ordeined vs before, that we should walke in them.

⁶ which is come vnto you, euen as it is into all the world, and is frutefull, as it is amonge you, from the fyrste daye in the, whiche ye hearde of it, and had experience in the grace of God in the trueth,

²³ yf ye continue grounded and stablyshed in the fayth, and be not moued away from the hope of the Gospell, where of ye haue hearde, how that it is preached amonge al creatures which are vnder heauen, wherof I Paule am made a minister.

⁷ where vnto I am ordeyned a preacher and an Apostle: I tell the trueth in Christe and lye not, beynge the teacher of the gentyles in fayth and verytye.

¹¹ whereunto I am appointed, a preacher and an Apostle and a teacher of the Gentyls:

² And what thynges thou hast hearde of me, manye bearyng wytnes, the same delyuer to faythfull men, whiche are apte to teache other.

¹⁵ and for as muche also as thou haste knowen holy scrypture of a chyld, whiche is able to make the wyse vnto saluacion thorowe the fayth which is in Christ Iesu. ¹⁶ For al scripture geuen by inspyracion of God, is profytable to teache, to improue, to amende and to instruct in ryghtuousnes, ¹⁷ that the man of God maye be perfecte and prepared vnto all good workes.

⁵ For thys cause left I the in Crete, that thou shouldest performe that whiche was lackynge, and shouldest ordeyne elders in euery cytye as I appoynted the.

⁴ By fayth Abel offred vnto God a more plentuous sacrifyce then Cayn: by whiche he obtayned wytnes that he was ryghtuous, God testifiynge of his gyftes: by which also he beynge dead, yet speaketh.

¹⁸ yea, & the frute of ryghtuousnes is sowen in peace, of them that maintayne peace.

¹⁴ as obedyent chyldren not fashyonynge youre selues vnto your old lustes of ignorauncye: ¹⁵ but as he whiche called you is holye, euen so be ye holy in all maner of conuersacyon, ¹⁶ because it is wrytten. Be ye holy, for I am holy. ¹⁷ And yf so be that ye call on the father, whiche wythout respecte of person, iudgeth accordynge to euery mannes workes se that ye passe the tyme of youre pylgrymage in feare. ¹⁸ For as muche as ye know howe that ye were not redemed wyth corruptyble syluer and golde, from youre vayne conuersacyon whiche ye receyued by the tradicyons of the fathers: ¹⁹ but wyth the precyous bloud of christ as of a lambe vndefyled, and wythout spotte, ²⁰ whiche was ordeyned before the worlde was made, but was declared in the laste tymes for youre sakes, ²¹ whiche by hys meanes haue beleued on God that raysed hym from death, & gloryfyed hym, that youre faythe and hope myght be in God.

² whyle they beholde your pure conuersacion coupled wyth feare.

¹⁵ but sanctifie the Lorde God in your hertes. Be ready alwaies to geue an answere to euery man that axeth you a reason of the hope, that is in you, and that with mekenes & feare,

¹⁰ Herin is loue, not that we loued God, but that he loued vs, & sente his sonne to make agrement for our synnes.

¹⁹ We loue him, for he loued vs fyrste.
