² And when supper was ended, after that the deuyl had put in the herte of Iudas Iscarioth Simons sonne, to betraye hym.

²⁷ Praysed be the Lord God of our fathers which so had inspired the kinges hert to garnysh the house of God at Ierusalem:

¹² I gat me vp in the night season, & a fewe men wyth me: for I tolde no man what God had geuen me in my hert to do at Ierusalem: and there was not one beast wt me, saue it that I rode vpon.

³ Then entred Sathan into Iudas whose syr name was Iscaryot (whych was of the number of the twelue)

³¹ And the Lorde sayde: Simon Simon beholde, Sathan hath desyred you, to syfte you, as it were wheate,

⁷⁰ Iesus aunswered them: Haue not I chosen you twelue, and yet one of you is the deuyll? ⁷¹ He spake it of Iudas Iscarioth the sonne of Simon: For he it was that shoulde betraye him, and was one of the twelue.

⁴ he rose from supper, and layde asyde hys vpper garmentes, & toke a towell, and gyrde hym selfe.

²⁶ Iesus aunswered, he it is to whom I geue a sop, when I haue depte it. And he wet a soppe, and gaue it to Iudas Iscaryoth Simons sonne. ²⁷ And after the sop Satan entred into hym. Then sayde Iesus vnto hym: that thou doest, do quickly.

³ Then said Peter. Ananias, how is it, that Sathan hath fylled thyne hert, that thou shouldest lye vnto the holy ghost, and kepe awaye part of the pryce of the lyuelod:

¹⁶ Thankes be vnto God, which put in the hert of Titus the same good mynde towarde you.

³ amonge whiche we also had our conuersation in tyme paste, in the lustes of oure fleshe, and fulfylled the wyll of the fleshe and of the mynde, and were naturallye the chyldren of wrath, euen as well as other.

¹³ Let no man saye when he is tempted, that he is tempted of God. For god tempteth not vnto euyl, neyther tempteth he any man: ¹⁴ But euerye man is tempted, drawne awaye, & entysed of hys owne concupiscence. ¹⁵ Then when luste hath conceyued, she bringeth forth sinne, & sinne when it is fynyshed bryngeth forthe death. ¹⁶ Erre not my deare brethren. ¹⁷ Euery good gyfte, and euerye perfecte gyfte, is from aboue and commeth doune from the father of lyght wyth whome is no varyablenes, neyther is he chaunged vnto darkenes.

¹⁷ For God hath put in their hertes to fulfil his wil, & to do wt one consent, for to geue her kingdom to the beast, vntil the wordes of God be fulfilled.
