⁷ Wherfore do wicked men lyue in health and prosperite, come to their olde age, and increase in ryches?

⁶ The houses of robbers are in wealth & prosperite, and they that maliciously medle agaynst God, dwell without care: ye God geueth all thinges rychely with hys hande.

¹⁰ Which manteyne their owne welthinesse with oppression, and their mouthe speaketh proude thynges.

³⁵ I my selfe haue sene the vngodly in great power, & florishinge lyke a grene baye tree:

³ And why? I was greued at the wicked, to se the vngodly in suche prosperitie. ⁴ For they are in no parell of deathe, but stande fast lyke a palace. ⁵ They come in no misfortune lyke other folke, neither are they plaged like other men. ⁶ And this is the cause that they be so puft vp in pryde, and ouerwhelmed with crueltie & vnrighteousnesse. ⁷ Their eyes swell for fatnesse, they do euen what they lyst. ⁸ Corrupte are they, and speake blasphemyes maliciouslye, proude and presumpteous are their wordes. ⁹ They stretche forth their mouthe vnto the heauen, and their tongue goeth thorow the worlde. ¹⁰ Therfore fall the people vnto them, and thereout sucke they no small auauntage. ¹¹ Tush (saye they) howe shoulde God perceiue it? is there knowlege in the most hyest? ¹² Lo, these are the vngodly, these prospere in the worlde, these haue ryches in possession.

¹ O Lorde, thou art more rightuous then that I shulde dyspute with the: Neuertheles, lett me talke wyth the in thynges resonable. How happeneth it, that the waye of the vngodlye is so prosperous: and that it goeth so well with them, which (without eny shame) offende and lyue in wyckednesse? ² Thou plantest them, they take rote, they growe, and brynge forth fruite: They booste moch of the, yet doest thou not punish them. ³ But thou Lorde (to whom I am well knowne) thou that hast sene, and proued my herte, take them awaye, lyke as a flocke is caryed to the slaughter house, & apoynte them for the daye of slaughter.

¹⁷ This erande of the watcher is a commaundement grounded and sought oute in the councell of him, that is most holye, to learne men for to vnderstande, that the hyest hath power, ouer the kyngedomes of men, and geueth them, to whome it lyketh hym, & bryngeth the very oute castes of men ouer them.

¹³ Thyne eyes are clene, thou mayest not se euyll, thou canst not beholde the thynge that is wycked. Wherfor then doest thou loke vpon the vngodly, and holdest thy tung, when the wycked deuoureth the man that is better then hym selfe?

¹⁵ They take vp all with theyr angle, they catche it in theyr net, and gather it in theyr yarne: whereof they reioyce, and are glad, ¹⁶ Therfore offre they vnto theyr net, and do sacryfyce vnto theyr yarne: because that thorowe it theyr porcyon is become so fat, & theyr meate so plenteous.

² And the beaste whych I sawe, was lyke a cat of the mountayne, and hys fete were as the fete of a beare, and his mouth as the mouth of a Lyon. And the dragon gaue him hys power and hys seale, and great authorytye, ³ & I sawe one of his heades as it were wounded to death and his deadlye wounde was healed. And al the worlde wondred at the beaste, ⁴ & they worshipped the dragon, which gaue power vnto the beaste, and they worshipped the beast saiynge: who is lyke vnto the beast? who is able to warre with him? ⁵ And there was mouth geuen vnto hym, that spake greate thinges and blasphemies, and power was geuen vnto hym, to do .xlij. monethes. ⁶ And he opened hys mouth vnto blasphemy agaynste God, to blaspheme hys name, and his tabernacle and them that dwell in heauen. ⁷ And it was geuen vnto hym to make warre wyth the Saynctes, and to ouercome them. And power was geuen hym ouer al kynredes, tonges and nacions,

² wt whom haue committed fornicacion the kinges of the earth so that the inhabiters of the earth, are drounken wyth the wyne of her fornicacion. ³ And he caryed me awaye into the wildernes in the spirite. And I saw a woman sit vpon a rose colored beaste ful of names of blasphemye, which had .x. hornes. ⁴ And the woman was arayed in purple & rose coloure, and decked wyth golde, precious stones and pearles, and had a cuppe of golde in her hand full of al abominacions and fylthines of her fornicacion.
