³ Moreouer, the Lorde hath sayde vnto the bowe men, and to them that clymme ouer the walles in brest plates: He shall not spare her yong men, kil doune all her hoste.

²⁵ Withoute forthe, the swerde shal robbe them of theyr chyldren: and wythin in the chamber, feare: both younge menne and yong womenne & the suckelynges wyth the men of gray heades.

⁹ Blessed shall he be, that taketh thy chyldren, and throweth them agaynst the stones.

¹⁰ For the sterres and planetes of heauen shal not geue their lyght, the sunne shalbe quenched in the risinge, and the mone shall not shyne with his light. ¹¹ And I will punysh the wickednesse of the worlde, and the synnes of the vngodly, sayeth the Lorde. The hye stomackes of the proude wyl I take awaye, and will laye doune the boastynge of tyrauntes. ¹² I wyll make a man dearer then fyne goulde, and a man to be more worthe, then a goulden wedge of Ophir. ¹³ Moreouer, I wil so shake the heauen, that the earth shall remoue oute of her place. Thus shall it go with Babilon in the wrath of the Lorde of Hostes in the daye of his fearfull indignacyon. ¹⁴ And Babilon shalbe as an hunted or chased do, and as a flocke wythout a sheperde. Euery man shal turne to his own people, and flee eche one into his owne land. ¹⁵ Whoso is founde alone, shalbe shot thorow. And whoso gather together, shalbe destroied with the swerd. ¹⁶ Their chyldren shalbe slaine before their eyes, their houses spoyled, and their wyues rauyshed. ¹⁷ For lo, I shall brynge vp the Medes agaynst them, whiche shall not regarde siluer, nor be desyrous of gould. ¹⁸ Then shall young mens bowes be knapped a sunder. The Medes shall haue no pytye vpon wemen with chylde, and their faces shal not spare the chyldren.

²¹ Namely thus Death is climminge vp in at oure windowes he is come into oure houses, to destroye the chylde before the dore, and the younge man in the strete.

⁴ Ye harnesse youre horsses, and set your selues vpon them. Ye set your salettes fast on, ye bryng forth speares, ye scoure your swerdes, and put on youre brest plates.

¹⁴ Go forth in your araye againste Babylon rounde aboute, all ye that can handle bowes: shute at her, spare no arowes, for she hath synned agaynst the Lorde.

²¹ Go doune (O thou auenger) into the enemyes lande, and vyset them that dwel therin: doune with them, and smyte them vpon the backes, sayeth the Lorde: do accordyng to all, that I haue commaunded the.

²⁷ They shall slaye all their mightye soudyars, and put them to death. Wo be vnto them, for the daye & tyme of their visitacion is at hande.

²⁹ Call vp all the archers agaynste Babylon, pytche youre tentes rounde aboute her, that none escape. Recompence her, as she hath deserued: and accordinge as she hath done, so deale wyth her agayne: for she hath set vp her selfe agaynste the Lorde, agaynste the holy one of Israel. ³⁰ Therfore shall her yonge men fal doune in the stretes, and all her men of warre shalbe roted oute in that daye, saith the Lorde.

⁴¹ Beholde, there shall come a people from the North, with a greate bounde of men and many Kynges shall stande vp from the endes of the earth: ⁴² They beare bowes & buclers, cruel are they and vnmercyfull. Their voyce roareth lyke the ragyng sea, they ryde vpon horses, & come weapened to fyght agaynst the O Babylon.

¹³ For there shalbe iudgemente mercyles to hym, that sheweth no mercy, & mercy reioyseth against iudgemente.
