¹⁶ They shal rote out the sower from Babylon, & hym that handleth the syckle in haruest. For feare of the swearde of the enemye, euery man shal get hym to his owne people, and euery man shall flye to hys owne lande.

¹⁴ And Babilon shalbe as an hunted or chased do, and as a flocke wythout a sheperde. Euery man shal turne to his own people, and flee eche one into his owne land.

³⁸ They shall forsake theyr foldes lyke as a lyon: For theyr landes shalbe waste, because of the wrathe of the destroyer, and because of hys feareful indygnacyon.

¹⁶ The slaughter was greate, for one fell euer styll vpon another. One cryed vpon another: Vp let vs go againe to oure owne people, and to oure owne naturall countreye, from the swerd of oure enemye.

⁹ We wolde haue made Babylon whole (saye they) but she is not recouered. Therfore wyll we let her alone, & go euery man into hys owne countre. For her iudgemente is come into heauen, and is gone vp to the cloudes.

²³ Thorowe the I haue scatred the shepherde and hys flocke, the husbandeman and hys cattell, the prynces and the rulers.

¹¹ The husband men and the wyne gardeners shall loke pyteously & make lamentacyon, for the wheat wyne, and barley & because the haruest vpon the felde is so cleane destroyed.

¹⁶ If no (sayeth the Lorde God, the God of hostes) there shal be mournynge in all stretes, yea they shal say in euerye strete: alas, alas. They shal cal the husband man to lamentacyon, and suche as can mourne to mournynge.
