¹⁵ Moab shall be destroyed, and her cities brente vp: her chosen yong men shall be slayne, sayeth the king, whose name is the Lorde of Hostes.

⁸ Who is this kyng of glory? It is the Lorde strong and myghtie, euen the Lorde myghty in batell. ⁹ Open youre gates (O ye princes) let the euerlastynge dores be opened, that the kyng of glory may come in. ¹⁰ Who is this king of glory? It is the Lord of Hoostes, he is the kynge of glorye. Selah.

² For the Lord the most hyest is to be feared, and he is the great kyng vpon all the earth.

² for the Lord is angrye with all people, & hys displeasure is kindled agaynst all the multytude of them, to curse them, & to sleye them. ³ So that their slayne shalbe cast out, and their bodyes styncke: that euen the verye hilles shalbe wet with the bloude of them. ⁴ All the starres of heauen shalbe consumed, & the heauen shall folde together lyke a roll, & all the starres therof shal fall, lyke as the leaues fall from the vynes & fygetrees. ⁵ For my swearde (saieth he) shalbe bathed in heauen, and shall immediatly come downe vpon Idumea, and vpon the people which I haue cursed for my vengeance. ⁶ And the Lordes swearde shalbe full of bloude, and be rustye wyth the fatnesse & bloude of lambes & gootes, wyth the fatnesse of the kydneys of wethers. For the Lorde shall kyl a greate offringe in Bosra, and in the lande of Idumea. ⁷ There shall the Vnycornes fall with the Bulles (that is with the gyauntes) and theyr lande shalbe washed wyth bloude, and their grounde corrupte wyth fatnesse. ⁸ Vnto the also (O Syon) shall come the daye of the vengeaunce of God, & the yeare when thyne owne iudgmentes shalbe recompensed.

³⁰ Chyldren are weery and faynt, and the strongest men fall: ³¹ But vnto them that haue the Lorde before their eyes, shal strength be encreased, Aegles wynges shall growe vpon them: When they runne they shall not fal: and when they go, they shal not be weery.

¹⁸ As truely as I liue (sayeth the kynge, whose name is the Lorde of Hostes) it shal come as the mount of Thabor, and as Libanus yf it stond in the sea.

⁴ is Moab made desolate. And this crye shalbe hearde in all her cytyes.

⁸ The destroyer shall come vpon all cytyes, none shall escape. The valeys shalbe destroyed, and the feldes shall be layed waste: lyke as the Lorde hath determed. ⁹ Make a token vnto Moab, that she get her awaye spedelye: for her cytyes shalbe made so desolate, that no man shall dwell there in. ¹⁰ Cursed be he that doth the worcke of the Lorde negligentlye, and cursed be he that kepeth backe hys swearde from sheddynge of bloude. ¹¹ Moab hath euer bene ryche and carelesse from her youth vp, she hath sytten and taken her ease wyth her treasure. She was neuer yet put oute of one vessell into another (that is) she neuer wente awaye into captiuite, therfore her taste remayneth, and her sauoure is not yet chaunged. ¹² But lo, the tyme cometh, sayeth the Lorde that I shall sende her trussers to trusse her vp, to prepare & season her vessels: yea her tanckerdes rattell, and shake to and fro. ¹³ And Moab shalbe ashamed of Chamos, lyke as Israel was ashamed of Bethell, wherein she put her truste. ¹⁴ Wherfore do ye thincke thus: we are mightye, and stronge men of warre? ¹⁵ Moab shall be destroyed, and her cities brente vp: her chosen yong men shall be slayne, sayeth the king, whose name is the Lorde of Hostes. ¹⁶ The destruccyon of Moab commeth on a pace, and her fall is at hande. ¹⁷ All her neyghbours shall mourne for her, and all they that knowe her name, shall saye: O howe happeneth it, that the stronge staf & the goodlye rode is thus broken? ¹⁸ And thou doughter Dibon, come doune from thy glorye, and sit in pouerte. For he that destroyeth Moab, shall come vp to the also, & breake doune thy stronge holdes. ¹⁹ And thou that dwelleste in Aroer, get the to the strete, and loke aboute the: aske them that are fled and escaped, and saye: what thinge is happened? ²⁰ O, Moab is confounded and ouercome. Mourne, and crye, tel it oute at Arnon, that Moab is destroyed. ²¹ And myserye shall come vpon the playne lande: Namely, vpon Holon & Iahazah: vpon Mephaath ²² and Dibon vpon Nabo & the house of Deblathaim, ²³ vpon Cariathiarim and Bethgamul, vpon Bethmaon ²⁴ & Carioth, vpon Bozrah and all the cytyes in the lande of Moab, whether they lye farre or neare. ²⁵ The horne of Moab shall be smitten doune and her arme broken, sayeth the Lorde.

²⁷ They shall slaye all their mightye soudyars, and put them to death. Wo be vnto them, for the daye & tyme of their visitacion is at hande.

⁴⁰ I shall carie them downe to be slayne like shepe, like wethers and gootes.

⁵⁷ Yee (sayeth the Lorde) I will make their Princes their wyse men, their chefe rulers & all their worthyes, droncken: so that they shall slepe an euerlastynge slepe, and neuer wake: Thus sayeth the Kynge, whose name is the Lorde of hostes.

³⁷ Then dyd I Nabuchodonosor loue, magnifye and prayse the kynge of heauen: for all hys worckes are true, and hys wayes righte. As for those that go on proudely, he is able to brynge them doune.

⁹ And the lord him selfe shalbe king ouer al the earth. At that time shal there be one Lord onlye, & his name shalbe but one.

¹⁴ Cursed be the dissembler, which hath in his flocke one that is male and when he maketh a vowe, offereth a spoted one vnto the lord. For I am a great king (sayeth the Lorde of hostes) and my name is fearfull amonge the Heathen.

⁴ Beholde the hyre of the labourers which haue reped doun your fieldes (which hyer is of you kept backe by fraude) crieth: & the cryes of them whiche haue reped, are entred into the eares of the Lorde Sabaoth

¹⁶ And hath on hys vesture & on hys thighe a name wrytten: king of kinges, & Lord of Lordes,
