¹⁰ and saye vnto them. Thus sayeth the Lord of Hostes the God of Israell: Beholde I wil sende and cal for Nabuchodonozor the kinge of Babilon my seruaunt, and wyll set hys seate vpon these stones that I haue hyd, and he shall sprede hys tente ouer them.

¹² And when Benhadad hearde that tidinges, as he and the kinges were drinckinge in the pauilions, he sayde vnto his seruauntes: put ye in araye. And they put them selues in araye against the cytye.

¹⁶ And they went out at none when Benhadad was drinckynge stronge dryncke in the pauilions with the two and thyrtye kynges that holpe hym.

¹¹ He made darcknesse his pauylion rounde aboute hym, wyth darcke water and thycke cloudes to couer him.

⁵ For in the tyme of trouble he hath hydde me in his tabernacle, yea in the secrete place of his dwellynge hath he kept and set me vp vpon a rocke of stone.

²⁰ Thou hydest them priuely by thyne owne presence from the proude men, thou kepeste them secretly in thy tabernacle, from the strife of tonges.

²⁸ I saye to Cyrus: thou art myne herd man: so that he shall fulfill all thinges after my will. I saye to Ierusalem: be thou buylded, & to the temple: be thou fast grounded.

¹⁵ For lo, I wil cal all the officers of the kingdomes of the north (saieth the Lorde.) And they shall come, and euery one shall set the seate in the gates of Ierusalem, and in al their walles round aboute and thorowe al the cytyes of Iuda.

⁶ And go not after straunge goddes serue them not, worshipe them not, and angre me not wyth the worckes of youre handes: then wyll not I punish you. ⁷ Neuertheles, ye wolde not heare me (sayeth the Lorde) but haue defyed me with the worckes of youre handes, to youre owne greate harme. ⁸ Wherfore thus sayeth the Lorde of Hostes: Because, ye haue not herkened vnto my worde, ⁹ lo, I wyll sende out, call for all the people, that dwell in the North, sayeth the Lorde, and will prepayre Nabuchodonosor the kynge of Babylon my seruaunt, and will bringe them vpon this lande, & vpon all that dwell therin, and vpon all the people that are aboute them, & will vtterly rote them oute. I wyll make of them a wyldernesse, a mockage and a continuall deserte. ¹⁰ Moreouer, I will take from them the voyce of gladnesse and solace, the voyce of the brydegrom & the bryde, the voyce of the anoynted, wyth the cresshettes: ¹¹ and this whole lande shall become a wyldernes, & they shall serue the sayde people & the kynge of Babylon, thre score yeares and ten. ¹² When the .lxx. yeares eare expyred, I wyll vyset also the wickednesse of the kynge of Babylon & hys people sayeth the Lorde: ye and the land of the Caldees, and wyll make it a perpetuall wyldernes, ¹³ and will fulfyl al my wordes vpon that land, which I haue deuysed agaynst it: ye all that is wrytten in this boke, whyche Ieremy hath prophecyed of al people: ¹⁴ so that they also shal be subdued vnto diuerse nacyons and greate kinges, for I wil recompense them, accordyng to theyr dedes and worckes of their owne handes. ¹⁵ For thus hath the Lord God of Israel spoken vnto me: Take this wyne cuppe of indignacion fro my hande, that thou mayeste cause al the people, to whom I sende the, for to drincke of it: ¹⁶ that when they haue drouncken therof, they may be mad, and out of their wyttes, when the swearde commeth, that I wyll sende amonge them. ¹⁷ Then toke I the cuppe from the Lordes hande, and made all the people dryncke therof, vnto whom the Lorde had sent me. ¹⁸ But fyrst the cytie of Ierusalem, and all the cytyes of Iuda, theyr kinges and princes to make them desolate, waste, despised & cursed according as it is come to passe this day. ¹⁹ Ye & Pharao the kinge of Egipt, his seruauntes, his prynces & hys people altogether one with anoth ²⁰ & al kinges of the land of Hus, al kinges of the Philistines lande, Ascalon, Azah, Accaron & the remnaunt of Asdod, ²¹ the Edomites, the Moabites & the Ammonites: ²² al the kinges of Tirus & Sidon: the kynges of the Iles, that are beyonde the se: ²³ Dedan, Thema, Buz and the shauen Ismaelites: ²⁴ all the kynges of Araby, and (generally) all the kynges that dwell in the deserte: ²⁵ all the kynges of Zamri, al the kinges of Elam, all the kynges of the Meedes, ²⁶ all kynges towarde the North, whether they be farre or nye, euery one with his neyghboures: Ye and all the kyngdomes that are vpon the whole earth. The kynge of Sezach, sayde he, shal drincke with them also.

⁶ And nowe wyl I delyuer all these landes into the power of Nabuchodonosor the Kynge of Babylon, my seruaunt. The beastes also of the felde shall I geue hym to do hym seruyce. ⁷ And all people shall serue hym, and hys sonne, and hys chyldes chyldren, vntyll the tyme of the same lande become also: yea many people & greate Kynges shall serue hym. ⁸ Moreouer, that people and kyngedome whiche wyll not serue Nabuchodonosor, and that wyll not put theyr neckes vnder the yock of the kynge of Babylon: the same people wil I vpset with the swearde, wyth honger, with pestylence, vntyll I haue consumed them in hys handes, sayeth the Lorde.

²⁷ But be not thou afrayed (O my seruaunte Iacob) feare not thou, O Israell. For lo, I wyl helpe the from farre, and thy sede from the lande of thy captyuyte. Iacob also shall come agayn, & be in reste: he shal be rych, and no man shall do hym harme. ²⁸ Feare thou not (O Iacob my seruaunte) sayeth the Lord, for I am with the: and wyll destroye all nacions amonge whome I haue scatred the. Neuertheles, I wyll not consume the, but chasten the, and correcte the: yea and that wyth discrecyon: neyther wyll I spare the as one that were fautelesse.

¹⁸ Thou sonne of man, Nabuchodonosor the kynge of Babylon hath made hys hoste, wyth greate trauayle and laboure to come before Tyre: that euerye head may be balde, and euerye shoulder bare. Yet hath Tyre geuen neyther hym nor hys hoost anye rewarde, for the greate trauayle that he hath taken there. ¹⁹ Therfore thus sayeth the Lord god: beholde, I wyl geue the lande of Egypt vnto Nabuchodonosor the kynge of Babylon, that he maye take awaye all her substaunce, robbe her robberyes, and spoyle her spoyles, to pay hys hoste theyr wagyes wythall. ²⁰ I wil geue hym the lande of Egypte for hys labour, that he toke for me before Tyre.

²¹ he chaunged the tymes & ages: he putteth doune kynges, he setteth vp kinges he geueth wysdome vnto the wyse, & vnderstandynge to those that vnderstande,

¹⁸ O kynge, God the hyest gaue vnto Nabuchodonosor thy father, the dignite of a kynge with worshippe and honoure, ¹⁹ so that al people, kynredes and tunge stode in awe & feare of him, by reason of the hye estate, that he had lente him. For why, he slewe whom he wold: he smote, whom it pleased hym. Agayne, whom he wolde, he set vp: and whome he lyst, he put doune.

⁷ When the kynge hearde that, he was wrothe and sente forthe hys warryers and destroyed those murtherers and brent vp theyr citie.
