¹¹ Beholde we count them happye whiche endure. Ye haue hearde of the pacience of Iob, & haue knowen what ende the Lorde made. For the Lorde is verye pytyfull and mercyfull.

⁶ And when the Lord walked before him, he cried: Lord Lord God full of compassion and mercy, which are not lightly angry but abundaunt in mercy and truth,

¹⁸ the Lord is longe year he be angrye, and ful of mercy, and suffereth synne and trespace, and leaueth no man innocent, and vysyteth the vnrighteousnesse of the fathers vpon the chyldren, euen vpon the thyrd and fourth generacion,

¹³ And Dauid sayde to Gad: I am in an exceadynge strayte. But let me fal into the handes of the Lord, for passynge great in his mercye, and let me not falle into the handes of men.

⁹ For yf ye turne vnto the Lorde, then youre brethren & youre children shall fynde compassion in the presence of them that holde them captyue, that they maye come agayne vnto this lande: for the Lorde youre God is full of mercye and compassyon, and wyll not turne hys face from you, yf ye turne agayne to hym.

¹⁷ and refused to heare, and were not myndefull of the wonders that thou dyddeste for them: but became obstynate & heady in so muche that they turned backe to theyr bondage in theyr disobedience. But thou my God forgauest, and wast gracyous, mercyfull, pacyente, and of greate goodnesse, and forsokest them not.

³¹ But for thy greate mercyes sake thou haste not vtterlye consumed them, nether forsaken them: for thou arte a gracyous and mercyfull God.

² This man had .vij. sonnes, & .iij. daughters.

²¹ and sayde: Naked came I out of my mothers wombe, & naked shall I turne thether agayne. The Lorde gaue, and the Lord hath taken awaye now blessed be the name of the Lorde. ²² In all these thynges dyd Iob not offende, ner murmured folyshye agaynst God.

¹⁰ But Iob sayde vnto her: Thou speakest lyke a folysh woman. Seynge we haue receyued prosperite at the hand of God, wherfore shuld we not be content with aduersyte also? In all these thynges, dyd not Iob synne with his lyppes.

¹⁵ Lo, there is nether conforte nor hope for me, yf he wyll slaye me. But yf I shewe and reproue myne owne wayes in his syght, ¹⁶ he is euen the same that maketh me whole: and why? there maye no hypocrite come before hym.

¹⁰ But as for my way, he knoweth it: & tryeth me as the goulde in the fyre.

¹⁰ and the Lorde turned hym vnto Iob, when he prayed for his frendes. Yea the Lorde gaue Iob twyse as muche as he had a fore. ¹¹ And then came there vnto him all hys brethren, all hys sisters, with all them that had bene of hys acquayntaunce afore, & ate bread wyth hym in hys house, wondryng at hym, & comfortyng hym ouer all the trouble, that the Lorde had brought vpon hym. Euery man gaue hym a shepe and a Iewell of golde. ¹² And the Lorde made Iob rycher then he was before: for he had .xiiij.M. shepe .vi.M. camels, a .M. youcke of oxen, & a .M. asshes. ¹³ He had chyldren also .vij. sonnes & .iij. doughters. ¹⁴ The fyrste called daye: the seconde Pouerte: the thyrde all plenteousnes. ¹⁵ In all the lande were none found so fayre, as the doughters of Iob, & theyr father gaue them enherytaunce amonge theyr brethren. ¹⁶ After this lyued Iob .xl. yares, so that he sawe his children, & his children children to the fourthe generacyon. ¹⁷ And so he dyed, beynge olde & of a perfecte age.

⁶ Call to remembrance, O Lorde, thy tender mercyes and thy louynge kyndenesses, which haue bene euer of olde. ⁷ Oh remembre not the synnes and offences of my youth, but accordynge vnto thy mercye thynke vpon we, O Lord, for thy goodnesse.

³⁷ Kepe innocency, and take hede vnto the thynge that is ryghte, for that shall brynge a man peace at the last.

¹ To the chaunter, a Psalme of Dauid, when the prophet Nathan came vnto hym, after he was gone into Bethsabe. Haue mercy vpon me (O God) after thy goodnes, & according vnto thy great mercyes, do awaye myne offences.

³⁸ But he was so mercifull, that he forgaue their misdedes, and destroyed them not. Yea, many a tyme turned he hys wrathe awaye, and wolde not suffre hys whole dyspleasure to aryse.

⁵ For thou Lorde arte good and gracyous, and of greate mercye vnto all them that call vpon the.

¹⁵ But thou, O Lord God, art ful of compassion, and mercy, long suffring, great in goodnes and truth.

¹² Blessed is the man, whome thou learnest (O LORDE) and teacheste hym in thy lawe.

⁸ The Lord is ful of compassion and mercy, long sufferyng, & of great goodnesse.

¹³ Yea, like as a father pitieth his owne children, euen so is the Lord mercifull vnto them that feare hym.

⁵ Gracious is the Lord, and rightuous, yea oure God is mercyfull.

¹³² O loke thou vpon me, & be mercifull, as thou vsest to do vnto those that loue thy name.

¹ O geue thankes vnto the Lord, for he is gracious, and his mercy endureth for euer. ² O geue thankes vnto the God of all goddes, for his mercy endureth for euer. ³ O thancke the Lord of all Lordes, for his mercy endureth for euer. ⁴ Whych only doth greate wonders, for his mercy endureth for euer. ⁵ Which by hys wisdome made the heauens for his mercy endureth for euer. ⁶ Which layed out the earth aboue the waters, for his mercy endureth for euer. ⁷ Whych hath made great lyghtes, for hys mercy endureth for euer. ⁸ The sunne to rule the daye, for hys mercy endureth for euer. ⁹ The mone and the starres to gouerne the nyght, for his mercy endureth for euer. ¹⁰ Whych smote Egypt wyth their fyrste borne, for his mercy endureth for euer. ¹¹ And brought out Israell from among them, for his mercy endureth for euer. ¹² With a myghtye hand and stretcheth out arme, for his mercy endureth for euer. ¹³ Whych deuyded the reed sea into partes, for his mercy endureth for euer. ¹⁴ And made Israell to go thorow the myddest of it, for his mercy endureth for euer. ¹⁵ But as for Pharao, and his host, he ouerthrewe them in the read sea, for his mercy endureth for euer. ¹⁶ Which led hys people thorow the wyldernesse, for his mercy endureth for euer. ¹⁷ Whiche smote greate Kynges, for hys mercy endureth for euer. ¹⁸ Yea, and slue myghtye Kynges, for hys mercy endureth for euer. ¹⁹ Sehon Kyng of the Amorytes, for hys mercy endureth for euer. ²⁰ And Og the Kyng of Basan, for his mercy endureth for euer. ²¹ And gaue awaye their lande for an herytage, for his mercy endureth for euer. ²² Euen for an heritage vnto Israel hys seruaunt, for his mercy endureth for euer. ²³ Which remembreth vs, when we are in trouble, for hys mercy endureth for euer. ^{24 25} Which geueth fode vnto al flesh, for his mercy endureth for euer. ²⁶ O geue thankes vnto the God of heauen, for his mercy endureth for euer.

⁸ The Lord is gracious and merciful, longe sufferyng, and of great goodnesse.

⁸ The ende of a thyng is better then the begynnynge. The pacient of spirite is better then the hye mynded.

⁶ Seke the Lorde, whyle he maye be founde, & call vpon hym whyle he is nye. ⁷ Let the vngodly man forsake his wayes & the vnrighteous his ymaginacions, & turne agayne vnto the Lorde: so shall he be mercyfull vnto him: & to oure God, for he is redy to forgeue.

⁷ I wyl declare the goodnesse of the Lorde, yea and the prayse of the Lorde for all that he hath geuen vs, for the great good that he hath done for Israel: whyche he hath geuen them of hys owne fauoure, and accordynge to the multytude of hys louynge kyndnesses.

⁹ In their troubles he forsoke them not, but the aungel that went forthe from his presence delyuered them. Of very loue & kindnesse that he had vnto them, redemed he them. He hath borne them, and caryed them vp euer, sence the worlde beganne.

²² Heth. Namely, that the mercyes of the Lord are not cleane gone, and that hys louynge kyndnesse ceasseth not.

⁹ But vnto the, O Lorde oure God, pertayneth mercye and forgeuenesse. As for vs, we are gone backe from him,

¹⁸ O my God, enclyne thine eare, and herken (at the leaste for thine owne sake) open thyne eyes: beholde, how we be desolated, yea and the cytye also, whiche is called after thy name: for we do not cast oure prayers before the in oure owne righteousnesse, no: but onely in thy greate mercyes. ¹⁹ O Lorde, heare. O forgeue Lorde. O Lorde consydre, tarye not ouer longe: but for thyne owne sake do it. O my God: for the citie and thy people is called after thy name.

¹³ rente your hertes & not youre clothes. Turne you vnto the Lorde youre God, for he is gracyons and mercyfull, longe sufferyng and of great compassyon, & ready to pardone wickednes.

² And he prayed vnto the Lord, & sayde: O Lord was not thys my sayinge (I praye the) when I was yet in my countre? therfore I hasted rather to fle vnto Tharsis, for I know well ynough that thou art a mercyfull God, full of compassion, long sufferyng, & of a great kyndnesse, & repentest when thou shuldest take punishment.

¹⁸ Where is there such a God as thou? that pardonest wickednes, and forgeuest the offences of the remnaunte of thyne herytage? He kepeth not hys wrath for euer. And why? his delyte is to haue compassyon:

¹⁰ Blessed are they which suffer persecucion for rightuousnesse sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heauen: ¹¹ Blessed are ye when men reuile you and persecute you, and shal falsely say al maner of yuel sayinges against you for my sake.

²² and ye shal be hated of all men for my name. But he that endureth to the ende shalbe saued.

⁵⁰ And his mercy is on them that feare hym thorowe out all generacions.

³⁶ Be ye therfore mercifull, as your father is mercyfull.

⁴ Eyther despysest thou the riches of hys goodnes, pacience and longe sufferaunce? and remembreste not howe that the kindnes of God leadeth the to repentaunce?

⁶ to the prayse of the glory of hys grace, wherewith he hath made vs accepted in the beloued.

⁴ But God whiche is ryche in mercye thorow his great loue wherewith he loued vs,

⁶ But Chryste as a sonne hath rule ouer the house, whose house are we, so that we holde faste the confidence and the reioysynge of that hope, vnto the ende.

¹⁴ We are partakers of Christe, yf we kepe sure vnto the ende the fyrste substaunce,

³⁹ We are not whych wythdrawe our selues vnto dampnacyon, but partayne to faith, to the winnynge of the soule.

¹² Happy is the man that endureth in temptacyon, for when he is tryed, he shal receyue the croune of lyfe, which the Lorde hath promised to them that loue hym.

⁶ in the whiche tyme ye shall reioyce, thoughe nowe for a season (yf nede requyre) ye are in heauynes, thorow manyfolde temptacyon, ⁷ that youre faythe ones tryed beynge muche more precyous, then golde that perysheth (though it be tryed with fyre) myghte be founde vnto laude, glory, and honoure, at the apearynge of Iesus Christ

¹³ Wherfore gyrde vp the loynes of youre myndes, be sober, and trust perfectelye on the grace that is broughte vnto you, by the declarynge of Iesus Christe,

⁹ The Lorde knoweth howe to deliuer the Godlye out of temptacion, and howe to reserue the vniuste vnto the daye of iudgement for to be punyshed,
