¹² Yea I, I am euen he, that in all thynges geueth you consolacion. What arte thou then, that fearest a mortal man, the chylde of man, whiche goeth awaye as doeth the floure?

⁵ As sone as thou scatrest them, they are euen as a slepe, & fade awaye sodenly like the grasse. ⁶ In the mornyng it is grene and groweth vp, but in the euenynge it is cut doune and wythered.

⁷ That the vngodly are grene as the grasse and that all the workes of wickednes do florish to be destroyed for euer.

¹⁵ That a man in hys time is but as grasse, and florisheth as a floure of the felde. ¹⁶ For as sone, as the wynde goeth ouer it, it is gone, and the place thereof knoweth it no more.

⁶ The lord is my helper, I wyll not feare what man doeth vnto me.

⁴ For when the breath of man goeth forth, he shall turne agayne to his earth, and so all hys thoughtes perysh.

²⁶ Manye there be that seke the Princes fauoure, but euery mans iudgement commeth from the Lorde.

²² Every man can eschue a persone moued in anger, for what doeth he wyselye?

⁶ The same voyce spake: Now crye. And I sayde: what shall I crye? Then spake yt: that all flesh is grasse, and that all the bewtye therof, is as the floure of the felde. ⁷ When the grasse is withered, the floure falleth awaye. Euen so is the people as grasse, when the breath of the Lorde bloweth vpon them.

²⁵ Where as I yet am euen he onlye, that for myne owne selfes sake do awaye thyne offences, & forget thy synnes: so that I wyll neuer thyncke vpon them.

³ how the Lorde comforted Syon, and repayred all her decaye: makynge her deserte as a Paradyse, & her wyldernesse as the garden of the Lorde. Myrth and ioye was there, thanckesgeuynge and the voyce of prayse.

⁷ Therfore herken vnto me, ye that haue pleasure in rightuousnes, thou people that bearest my lawe in thyne herte. Feare not the curse of men, be not afrayde of theyr blasphemies & reuylynges: ⁸ for wormes and mothes shal eate them vp lyke cloth and wol. But my ryghtuousnesse shall endure for euer, & my sauinge health from generacion to generacyon,

¹⁵ For thus sayeth the hye and excellent, euen he that dwelleth in euerlastingnesse, whose name is the holy one. I dwell hye aboue & in the sanctuary, and with him also, that is of a contrite & humble spirite: that I maye heale a troubled mind, & a contrite hert. ¹⁶ For I chide not euer, & am not wroth without ende. But the blastinge goeth from me, though I make the breath. ¹⁷ I am wroth with him for his couetousnes and lust, I smyte him, I hyd me, and am angry, when he turneth him selfe, & foloweth the by the waye of his owne herte. ¹⁸ But yf I may se his right way againe, I make hym whole, I lede him and restore him vnto them, whome he maketh ioyfull, and that were sorye for him.

¹³ For lyke as a chylde is comforteth of hys mother, so shall I comforte you, and ye shalbe comforted in Ierusalem.

¹⁶ Sidrach, Misach and Abednago aunswered the kynge, and sayde: O Nabuchodonosor, we oughte not to consente vnto the in this matter, for why: ¹⁷ oure GOD whome we serue, is able to kepe vs from the hote burnynge ouen (O kynge) and can right well delyuer vs oute of thy handes. ¹⁸ And thoughe he wyll not, yet shalte thou knowe (O kynge) that we wil not serue thy Goddes, nor do reuerence to the Image, whiche thou haste set vp.

²⁸ And feare ye not them which kil the body, and be not able to kill the soule. But rather feare him, which is able to destroy both soule & body into hell.

⁴ I saye vnto you my frendes: Be not afrayde of them that kyll the bodye, and after that haue no more that they can do. ⁵ But I wil shew you whom ye shall feare. Feare hym whiche after he hath kylled, hath power to caste into hell. Yea I saye vnto you, hym feare.

¹⁸ I wyll not leaue you comfortlesse, but wyll come vnto you.

²⁶ But that comforter whiche is the holy ghost (whome my father wil send in my name) he shal teache you all thinges, & brynge all thynges to youre remembraunce whatsoeuer I haue tolde you. ²⁷ Peace I leaue with you, my peace I geue vnto you. Not as the worlde geueth, geue I vnto you. Let not your hertes be greued, neyther feare ye.

³¹ Then had the congregations reste thorowe out all Iewry and Galile and Samarie, and were edified, and walked in the feare of the Lorde, and multiplied by the confort of the holy ghoste.

³ Blessed be God the father of oure Lorde Iesus Christ, the father of mercy, and the God of all comforte, ⁴ whiche comforteth vs in all oure tribulacion, in so muche that we are able to comforte them, which are troubled in whatsoeuer tribulation it be, with the same comforte wherwith we our selues are comforted of God. ⁵ For as the affliccions of Christ are plenteous in vs: euen so is our consolacion plenteous by Christe.

⁵ For when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on euerye syde. Outwarde was fyghtynge, inwarde was feare. ⁶ Neuerthelesse GOD that comforteth the abiect, comforteth vs at the comming of Tytus.

¹⁰ and the ryche in that he is made lowe. For euen as the flower of the grasse, shal he vanysh away. ¹¹ The sonne riseth with heat, and the grasse widereth, and hys flower falleth awaye, & the beautye of the fashyon of it perysheth: euen so shal the ryche man peryshe wyth hys aboundaunce.

²⁴ For all fleshe is as grasse, and all the glorye of man is as the floure grasse. The grasse wyddereth, and the floure falleth awaye,
