⁹ There remayneth therfore yet a rest to the people of God.

⁹ The prynces of the people are gathered together vnto the God of Abraham: for God is farre hyer exalted, then the mighty lordes of the earth.

¹⁰ Then shal the Gentyles enquere after the rote of Iesse (whiche shalbe set vp for a token vnto the Gentyles) for hys dwellinge shalbe glorious.

² that he him selfe myght be in reste, lye quietly vpon his bed, & lyue after his owne pleasure.

¹⁹ The Sunne shall neuer be thy day lyght, and the light of the Mone shal neuer shyne vnto the, but the Lorde hym selfe shalbe thyne euerlasting lyght, and thy God shalbe thy glory. ²⁰ Thy Sunne shall neuer go doune, & thy Mone shal not be taken awaye, for the Lorde him selfe shalbe thy euerlastynge light, & thy sorowfull dayes shalbe rewarded the.

²¹ She shall bryngforth a sonne, & thou shalt cal his name Iesus. For he shal saue his people from their sins.

¹⁴ whiche gaue hym selfe for vs, to redeme vs from al vnryghtuousnes and to pourge vs a peculyar people vnto him selfe, feruently geuen vnto good workes.

¹¹ so that I sware in my wrath, that they should not enter into my reste.

¹ Let vs feare therfore leste anye of vs forsakinge the promes of entringe into his reste, shoulde seme to come behinde.

³ But we whiche haue beleued, do enter into his reste, as contrarywyse he sayde to the other: I haue sworne in my wrath, they shal not enter into my rest. And that spake he verely longe after that the workes were made, and the foundacion of the worlde layde.

²⁵ and those rather to suffer aduersitie wyth the people of God, then to enioy the pleasures of synne for a season,

¹⁰ whiche in tyme past were not vnder mercye, but nowe haue obtayned mercye.

¹⁴ And I sayd vnto hym: Lorde thou wotest. And he said vnto me: these are they which came out of great tribulacion, and made their garmentes large and made them white, in the bloude of the lambe, ¹⁵ therfore are they in the presence of the seate of God and serue hym daye and nyghte in his temple, and he that sitteth in the seate wyl dwell amonge them. ¹⁶ They shal honger no more neyther thyrste, neyther shal the sunne lyghte on them, neyther anye heate: ¹⁷ For the lambe, which is in the middes of the seate shall feede them, and shall leade them vnto fountaynes of lyuinge water, and God shall wype awaye al teares from theyr eyes.

⁴ And god shal wipe away al teares from their eyes. And there shalbe no more death, neyther sorow neither criyng, neither shal there be any more paine, for the olde thinges are gone.
