¹² And Thimna was concubine to Eliphas Esaus son, & bare vnto Eliphas Amalech. And these be the sonnes of Ada Esaus wyfe.

And when he lete hys hande doune, Amelech had the better. ¹² When Moses handes were weery, they toke a stone & put it vnder hym, and he satte downe thereon. And Aaron and Hur stayed vp hys handes, the one on the one syde, and the other on the other syde. And hys handes were steady vntill the sunne was downe. ¹³ And Iosua discomfyted Amelech and his people with the edge of the swerde. ¹⁴ And the Lorde sayed vnto Moses, write thys for a remembraunce in a boke and tell it vnto Iosua, for I wyll put out the remembraunce of Amelech from vnder heauen. ¹⁵ And Moses made an aulter and called the name of it Iehouah Nissi, ¹⁶ for he sayed: the hande is on the seate of the Lorde, that the Lorde wyll haue warre wyth Amelech thorow out all generations.

¹⁸ And Edom shalbe hys possession, and the possession of Seir shall be theyr enemies, and Israel shall do manfully. ¹⁹ And out of Iacob shal come he that shal destroye the remnaunt of the cityes. ²⁰ And he loked on Amaleck and began hys parable and sayd: Amaleck is the first of the nations, but hys later ende shall peryshe vtterli.

⁷ Thou shalt not abhorre an Edomite, for he is thy brother: nether shalt thou abhorre an Eygpcian, because thou waste a straunger in his lande.

But slay both man & woman, infant & sucklyng, & oxe, shepe, camell & Asse. ⁴ And Saul tolde it the people, & nombred them in Telaim two hundred thousand foote men, & ten thousand men of Iuda. ⁵ And Saule came vnto a city of the Amaleckites, & fought in a valeye. ⁶ But Saul sayde vnto the Kenites go & departe, & get ye doune from amonge the Amaleckytes, leste I destroy you wyth them for ye shewed mercye with Israell when they came out of Egypt. And the kenites departed from amonge the Amaleckites. ⁷ And Saul slue the Amaleckites from Heuila to Sur that lyeth before Egypte, ⁸ & toke Agag the Kyng of the Amaleckites a lyue, & vtterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the swerde. ⁹ But Saule and the people spared Agag, and they left of the shepe and of the oxen and fat thynges and the lambes and al that was good, and wolde not destroy them. But all that was noughte worth an flaggye, that they destroyed vtterlye.
