⁹ And the Lord god made to sprynge out of the erth, all maner trees bewtyfull to the syght and pleasant to eate, and the tree of lyfe in the myddes of the garden: and also the tree of knowledge of good and euell.

¹⁷ But of the tree of knowledge of good & bad se that thou eate not: For euen the same daye thou eatest of it thou shalt dye the dethe.

³ but of the frute of the tree that is in the myddes of the garden (sayd God) se that ye eate not, & se that ye touch it not, lest ye dye.

²² And the Lorde God sayd: Loo, Adam is become as it were one of vs, in knowledge of good and euell. But now lest he strech forth hys hande and take also of the tree of lyfe, & eate & lyue euer.

²⁵ Moreouer it shalbe ryghtuousenesse vnto vs before the Lord our God if we take hede to kepe al these commaundementes as he hath commaunded vs.

¹⁸ She is a tree of lyfe to them that laye holde vpon her, and blessed are they that kepe her fast.

³⁰ The frute of the righteous is as the tree of lyfe, a wyse man also wynneth mens soules.

²⁵ I destroye the tokens of witches, and make the Soth sayers go wronge. As for the wyse, I turne them backwarde, and make their connynge folyshnesse.

¹⁰ For thou hast comforted thy selfe in thy dysceitfulnes, and hast sayde: No man seyth me. Thyne owne wysdome & connyng hath disceueyd the. In that thou hast sayde: I am alone, and without me there is none.

⁸ no Cedre tree myght hyde hym. In the pleasaunte garden of God, there was no fyrre tre lyke his braunches, the plaine trees were not lyke the bowes of hym. All the trees in the garden of God myght not be compared vnto hym in hys beuty ⁹ so fayre and goodly had I made him wyth the multytude of hys braunches: In so muche that al the trees in the pleasaunte garden of God, had enuye at hym.

¹⁶ I wyll make the Heathen shake at the sounde of hys fall, when I caste hym doune to hell, with them that descende into the pytte. All the trees of Eden, with all the chosen and best trees of Lybanus, yea and all they that are planted vpon the waters, shall mourne with him also in the lower habytacyons:

¹⁸ To whome shalte thou be lykened, that arte so gloryous and greate, amonge the trees of Eden? Yet arte thou cast doune vnder the earthe (amonge the trees of Eden) where thou muste lye amonge vncyrcumcysed, with them that be slayne with the swearde. Euen thus is it with Pharao and al hys people, sayeth the Lorde God.

¹² By this ryuer vpon both the sydes of the shore, there shall growe al maner of fruiteful trees, whose leaues shall not fall of, nether shall their fruyte peryshe: but euer be rype at their monethes, for their water ronneth out of their Sanctuary. His fruite is good to eate and hys leaf profitable for medycyne.

⁴⁸ I am that bread of lyfe.

¹ To speake of thinges dedicate vnto Idols, we are sure that we all haue knowledge, knowledge maketh a man swel, but loue edyfyeth.

⁷ Let him that hath eares heare, what the spirite sayeth vnto the congregacions. To him that ouercommeth, wyl I geue to eate of the tree of lyfe, whyche is in the middes of the Paradyse of God.

² In the middes of the strete of it, and of eyther syde of the ryuer was the wode of lyfe: which bare .xij. maner of frutes: & gaue frute euerye moneth: and the leaues of the wodde serued to heale the people wythall.

¹⁴ Blessed are they that do his commaundementes that theyr power maye be in the tree of lyfe, & maye enter in thorowe the gates into the cite.
