⁶ And vnto the sonnes of hys concubynes he gaue gyftes, and sent them away from Isaac hys sonne (whyle he yet lyued) eastwarde vnto the east contrye.

³ Than Sarai Abrams wyfe toke Hagar her mayd the Egyptian (after Abram had dwelled .x. yere in the land of Canaan) & gaue her to hyr husbond Abram to be his wyfe.

¹⁴ And Abraham rose vp early in the mornyng and toke brede & a bottel with water, & gaue it vnto Hagar, puttynge it on her shoulders wyth the lad also, and sent her awaye. And she departed and wandred vp and doune in the wyldernes of Berseba.

⁹ When Lea sawe that she had left bearing she toke Silpha hyr mayd, and gaue hyr Iacob to wyfe.

¹ It chaunsed in those dayes, when there was no kynge in Israell, that a certain Leuyte dwellyng on the syde of mount Ephraim, toke to wyfe a concubyne out of Bethlehem Iuda: ² whyche concubyne played the whore in his house, and went away from him, vnto her fathers house to Bethlehem Iuda, and there continued foure monethes.

⁴ And his father in lawe the damoselles father kepte him, that he aboade with him thre dayes, and so they ate and dranke and lodged there.

¹ In the lande of Nus there was a man called Iob: an innocent & vertuous man, soche one as feared God exchued euell.

³ Hys substaunce was .vij.M. shepe .iij.M. camels .v.C. youck of oxen .v.C. she asses, & a very greate housholde: so that he was one of the moste principall men amonge all them of the east countre.

¹⁴ From the men of thy hande (O Lord) from the men of the worlde, which haue theyr porcion in this lyfe: whose bellyes thou fyllest with thy treasure. They haue chyldren at theyr desyre, and leaue the rest of of theyr substaunce for their babes. ¹⁵ But as for me, I wil beholde thy presence in righteousnes: and when thy glory appeareth, I shall be satisfied.

⁴⁵ that ye may be the chyldren of youre father that is in heauen: for he maketh his sonne to aryse on the yuyll, and on the good and sendeth his raine on the iust and vniust.

¹¹ Yf the sonne shall axe bread of any of you that is a father, will he geue him a stone? Or yf he axe fishe, will he for a fishe geue hym a serpente? ¹² Or yf he axe an egge, wyl he offer hym a scorpion? ¹³ Yf ye then which are euill, can geue good gyftes vnto youre chyldren, howe much more shall the father of heauen geue an holy spirite to them that desyre it of hym?

¹⁷ Neuerthelesse he lefte not hym selfe without wytnes, in that he shewed hys benefytes, in geuynge vs rayne from heauen, and fruteful ceasons, fyllyng our hertes with fode and gladnes.
