²¹ Tell the house of Israell, thus sayeth the Lorde God: beholde, I wyl suspende my sanctuarye: euen the glorye of your power, the pleasure of youre eyes, & the thyng that ye loue, youre sonnes & doughters whome ye haue left, shall fal thorow the swerde.

⁴ One thynge haue I desyred of the Lorde, which I wyll requyre: namelye, that I maye dwel in the house of the Lorde all the dayes of my lyfe, to beholde the fayre beutye of the Lorde, and to viset his temple.

⁷ They haue set fyre vpon the Sanctuary, they haue defyled the dwellyng place of thy name, euen vnto the grounde.

¹¹ But as for you, ye are they, that haue forsaken the Lorde, and forgotten my holy hil. Ye haue set vs an aulter vnto fortune, and geuen ryche drincke offerynges vnto treasure.

¹¹ And therfore I am so ful of thyne indignacyon (O Lorde) that I maye suffre no longer. Shede oute thy wrath vpon the children that are withoute, and vpon all younge men. Yea the man must be taken presoner with the wife, and the aged with the crepel.

¹⁴ And therfore euen as I haue done vnto Siloh, so wil I do to thys house, that my name is geuen vnto (and that ye put your trust in) ye vnto the place that I haue geuen to you & youre fathers.

²¹ Namely thus Death is climminge vp in at oure windowes he is come into oure houses, to destroye the chylde before the dore, and the younge man in the strete.

³ For of the chyldren that are borne in thys place, of their mother that haue borne them, and of their fathers that haue begotten them in thys lande, thus sayeth the Lorde: ⁴ They shal dye an horrible deeth, no man shall mourne for them, ner burye them, but they shall lye as donge vpon the earth. They shall perishe thorow the swearde and honger, and their bodyes shall be meate for the foules of the ayre, & beastes of the earth.

¹⁰ Iod. The enemye hath put his hande to all the precious thynges that she had, yee euen before her eyes came the Heathen in & out of the Sanctuarye: whom thou (neuertheles) hast forbydden to come within thy congregacyon.

⁶ Vau. Her tabernacle (which was lyke a garden of pleasure) hath he destroyed: her hye solempne feastes hath he put downe. The Lorde hath brought it so to passe, that the hye solempne feastes & Sabbathes in Sion, are cleane forgotten. In his heuy displeasure hath he made the kynge and prestes to be despysed. ⁷ Zain. The Lorde hath forsaken hys owne aulter, and is wroth with his owne Sanctuary, and hath geuen the walles of their towres in to the handes of the enemye. Their enemyes made a noyse in the house of the Lorde, as it had bene in a solempne feast daye.

²⁰ because they made therof not only costly Ieweles for their pompe and pryde, but also abhomynable ymages and Idoles. For this cause wyll I make them to be abhorred. ²¹ Moreouer, I will geue it into the handes of the straungers to be spoyled: and to the wycked, for to be robbed, and they shall destroye it. ²² My face wyll I turne from them, my treasury shalbe defiled: for the theues shall go in to it, and suspende it.

⁷ for he had sayde vnto them: When ye haue defyled the temple, and fylled the courte wyth the slayne, then go your waye forth. So they went oute, & slewe doune the slaughter,

²⁵ I will put my gelousy vpon the, so that they shall deale cruelly with the. They shall cut of thine nose and thyne eares, and the remnaunte shall fall thorow the swerde. They shall carie awaye thy sonnes and doughters, and the residue shalbe brent in the fyre.

⁴⁷ these shall stone them, & gore them with their swerdes. They shall slaye their sonnes and doughters and burne vp their houses with fyre.

¹⁶ Thou sonne of man, beholde I wil take awaye the pleasure of thyne eyes with a plage: yet shalt thou neyther mourne, nor wepe, nor water thy chekes therfore:

³¹ He shall set myghty men to vnhalowe the Sanctuary of strength, to put doune the daylye offerynge, and to set vp the abhomynable desolacyon.

¹³ and brought him to the counsell and brought forth false witnesses whiche sayde. This man ceaseth not to speake blaspemous wordes against thys holy place, and the lawe, ¹⁴ for we hearde him saie: this Iesus of Nazareth shall destroye this place, and shal chaung the ordinaunces, which Moises gaue vs.
