⁷ Then the Lorde sayed: I haue surelye sene the trouble of mi people which ar in Egipt, and haue heard their cry whyche they haue of their taskemasters. For I know theyr sorow,

²¹ I wyll go doune and sea whether they haue done all to gether acordynge to that crye which is come vnto me or not, that I may knowe.

³² And Lea conceaued & bare a sonne, & called eys name Ruben, for she sayd: the Lorde hath loked vpon my tribulation. And nowe my husband wyll loue me.

¹¹ And he sette taskemasters ouer theim, to kepe them vnder wyth burthens. And they buylte vnto Pharao treasure cityes: Phyton, and Rameses.

²³ And she bare yet an other sonne, whom he called Elieser, sayinge: the God of my father is myne helper, and hath ryd me out of the handes of Pharao. And it chaunced in processe of tyme, that the kynge of Egypt dyed, and the chyldren of Israel syghed by the reason of labour and cried. ²⁴ And their complaint came vp vnto God from the labour. And God remembred hys promise wyth Abraham, Isaac, & Iacob. ²⁵ And God loked vpon the children of Israel, and knewe them.

²³ If ye shall trouble them: they shall crye vnto me, and I wyll surelye heare their crye

¹⁶ to morowe thys tyme I wyl sende the a man out of the lande of Beniamin, him shalt thou anoynt to be captayne ouer my people Israel, that he maye saue my people out of the hande of the Philistines, for I haue loked vpon my people, and theyr crye is come vnto me.

⁹ & haste consydered the mysery of oure fathers in Egypte, & hearde theyr complaynte by the read sea,

²⁴ For he hath not despised nor abhorred the miserable estate of the poore: he hath not hid hys face fro me, but when I called vnto him he herde me.

⁴ I sought the Lorde, and he herde me, yea he delyuered me out of all my feare.

⁶ This poore man cryed vnto the Lorde, & he hearde hym, yea, and delyuered hym oute of all hys troubles.

⁴⁴ Neuertheles when he saw their aduersitie he herd their complaynt.

³ When my sprete is in heuynesse, for thou knowest my path: in the way wherin I walke haue they preuely layed a snare for me.

¹⁹ He fulfilleth the desire of them that feare him, he heareth their crie, and helpeth them.

⁹ In their troubles he forsoke them not, but the aungel that went forthe from his presence delyuered them. Of very loue & kindnesse that he had vnto them, redemed he them. He hath borne them, and caryed them vp euer, sence the worlde beganne.

¹⁵ For we haue not an hye prieste, whiche can not haue compassion on our infirmities, but was in all pointes tempted, lyke as we are, but yet without sinne.
