¹⁷ that the God of oure Lord Iesus Christ, and the father of glorye myghte geue vnto you the spyryte of wysdome, and open to you the knoweledge of hym selfe,

¹¹ Thyne (O Lorde) is greatenesse, power glorye, vyctorye and prayse: for all that is in heauen and in earthe is thyne, and thyne is the kyngedome (O Lorde) and thou arte lyfte vp an head aboue all.

⁷ Open your gates (O ye princes) lette the euerlastynge dores be opened, that the kyng of glory may come in.

¹⁰ Who is this king of glory? It is the Lord of Hoostes, he is the kynge of glorye. Selah.

³ It is the Lorde that commaunded the waters: It is the gloryus God that maketh the thonder: it is the Lorde that ruleth the sea.

⁵ then shalt thou vnderstande the feare of the Lord, & fynde the knowlege of God.

² The spyryt of the Lorde shall lyghte vpon it, the spyryte of wisedome and vnderstandynge: the spirit of councell, & strength: the spirite of knowledge, and of the feare of God:

¹¹ whether the Gentiles them selues deale so fastly and vntruly with their goddes (whiche yet are no Goddes in dede.) But my people hath geuen ouer their hye honoure, for a thinge that maye not helpe them.

²⁴ But who so wyl reioyse, let hym reioyse in this, that he vnderstandeth and knoweth me: for I am the Lorde, which do mercy, equite, and ryghtuousnes vpon the earth. Therefore haue I pleasure in suche thynges, sayeth the Lorde.

⁷ And I wyll geue them an herte, to knowe, how that I am the Lorde. They shalbe my people, and I wyll be their God, for they shall returne vnto me wt their whole herte.

³⁴ And from thence forth shall no man teache his neyghboure or his brother, and say know the Lorde: But they shall all knowe me, from the loweste vnto the hyeste, sayeth the Lorde. For I wyll forgeue theyr mysdedes, and wil neuer remembre theyr sinnes any more.

²⁸ Onely God in heauen can open secretes, and he it is, that sheweth the kynge Nabuchodonosor, what is for to come in the latter dayes. Thy dreame, & that whiche thou hast sene in thyne heade vpon thy bed, is thys: ²⁹ O kyng thou dyddest caste in thy mynde, what shulde come hereafter: So he that is the opener of misteryes, telleth the, what is for to come. ³⁰ As for me, thys secrete is not shewed me, for anye wysdome that I haue, more then anye other lyuynge: but onelye that I myghte shewe the kynge the interpretacyon, and that he myghte know the thoughtes of his owne herte.

¹¹ For why? there is a man in thy kingdome, that hath the spryte of the holy Goddes within him, as it was sene in thy fathers dayes. He hath vnderstandynge and wysdome like the Goddes. Yea the kynge Nabuchodonosor thy father made thys man chefe of the sothsayers, charmers, Caldees, and deuilconiurers,

¹ In the thirde yeare of king Cirus of Persia, there was shewed vnto Daniel (otherwyse called Balthazar) a matter, yea a true matter, but it is yet a longe tyme vnto it. He vnderstode the matter well, and perceyued what the vision was.

¹³ And lead vs not into temptaciou. But delyuer vs from euyll. For thyne is the kingdome and the power, and the glorye for euer Amen.

²⁵ At that time Iesus aunswered and said: I prayse the, O father Lorde of heauen and earth, because thou hast hid these thinges from the wyse and prudent, and hast opened theim vnto babes:

²⁷ All thinges are geuen vnto me of my father. And no man knoweth the sonne but the father: neyther knoweth anye man the father, saue the sonne, and he to whom the sonne wyl open hym.

¹⁷ And Iesus aunswered and sayde to hym: happy arte thou Symon the sonne of Ionas, for fleshe & bloude hath not opened vnto the that, but my father which is in heauen.

¹⁴ Glory to God on hye, and peace on the earth: and vnto men reioysynge.

¹² For the holye ghost shal teache you in the same houre, what ye ought to saye.

¹⁵ For I wyll geue you a mouthe and wisdome, where against all youre aduersaries shall not be able to speake nor resyste.

⁵⁴ Iesus answered. Yf I honoure my selfe, myne honoure is nothynge worthe. It is my father, that honoureth me, which you saye is youre God, ⁵⁵ and ye haue not knowen hym: but I knowe hym, And yf I shoulde saye: I knowe hym not, I shoulde be a lyer lyke vnto you. But I knowe hym, and kepe hys saiynge.

¹⁷ which is the spirite of truth whom the worlde can not receyue, because the world seeth hym not, neyther knoweth hym. But ye knowe hym. For he dwelleth with you, & shal be in you.

²⁶ But that comforter whiche is the holy ghost (whome my father wil send in my name) he shal teache you all thinges, & brynge all thynges to youre remembraunce whatsoeuer I haue tolde you.

³ And suche thinges shall they do vnto you, because they haue not knowen the father, neyther yet me.

³ This is lyfe eternall that they myghte knowe, the that onely very God, and whome thou haste sente Iesus Christ.

²⁵ O righteous father, the very world hath not knowen the: but I haue knowen the, and these haue knowen that thou haste sente me. ²⁶ And I haue declared vnto them thy name, & will declare it that the loue where with thou haste loued me, be in them, and that I be in them.

¹⁷ Iesus sayd vnto her touch me not, for I am not yet ascended to my father. But go to my brethren, & saye vnto them: I ascende vnto my father and youre father: to my God and your God.

¹⁰ And they could not resist the wysdome, and the spyryte wt whyche he spake.

² And he sayde: ye men, brethren, and fathers, harken to. The God of glorye appeared vnto our father Abraham whyle he was yet in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

²⁸ And as it semed not good vnto them to be a knowen of God, euen so God deliuered them vp vnto a leud minde, that they should do those thinges, whiche were not comly,

⁶ that ye all agreynge together, maye with one mouthe prayse God the father of oure Lorde Iesus,

⁸ whiche wisdome none of the rulars of this worlde knewe. For had they knowen it, they would not haue crucified the Lorde of Glorye.

¹⁰ But God hath opened them to vs by hys spirite. For the spirite searcheth al thinges, ye the bottome of Goddes secretes.

⁸ To one is geuen thorowe the spirite the vtteraunce of wysdome. To another is geuen the vtteraunce of knowledge by the same spirite.

⁶ Nowe brethren yf I come vnto you speakinge with tounges, what shall I profite you, excepte I speake vnto you, other by reuelation or knowledge, or propheciynge, or doctryne.

¹ It is not expedyent for me (no doubte) to reioyce. Neuerthelesse I wyll come to visions and reuelations of the Lorde.

³ Blessed be God the father of oure Lorde Iesus Christe, which hath blessed vs wyth all maner of spyrytuall blessynges in heauenlye thynges by Christe,

⁵ Which mysterye in tymes passed was not opened to the sonnes of men, as it is now declared vnto his holye Apostles and Prophetes by the spyrite

¹⁸ might be able to comprehende wyth all sainctes, what is the bread and length, deapt and height: ¹⁹ and to knowe, what is the loue of Christe, whyche loue passeth knowledge, that ye myghte be fulfylled wyth all maner of fulnes, whiche cometh of God.

⁹ For this cause we also, sence the daye we heard of it, haue not ceased prayeng for you, and desiring that ye myght be fulfilled with the knowledge of his will, in all wysdome, and spiritual vnderstandinge, ¹⁰ that ye mighte walke worthy of the Lorde in all thinges, that please him beyng frutefull in all good workes, and encreasing in the knowledge of God

² that their hertes mighte be comforted and knit together in loue, and in all riches of full vnderstandinge for to knowe the mystery of God the father and of Christe, ³ in whom are hyd al the treasures of wysdom and knowledge.

²⁵ the euyll in meakenes, and can informe them that resiste: yf that God at any tyme wyll geue them repentaunce for to know the trueth,

¹ Paule the seruaunt of God and an Apostle of Iesu Christ, to preache the faythe, of Goddes elect, & the knowledge of that truethe, whiche is after Godlynes,

¹ Brethren haue not the faythe of oure Lorde Iesus Christe the Lorde of glorye in respect of persons.

¹⁷ But the wysedome that is from aboue, is fyrste pure, then peasable, gentle, and easye to be entreated, full of mercye & good frutes, wythoute iudgynge, and wythout simulacyon: ¹⁸ yea, & the frute of ryghtuousnes is sowen in peace, of them that maintayne peace.

³ Accordinge as hys godlye power hath geuen vnto vs al thinges that pertayne vnto lyfe and godlines, thorowe the knowledge of him that hath called vs by vertue & glory,

¹⁸ but grow in grace, and in the knowledge of oure Lorde and Sauiour Iesus Christe. To whom be glorye both nowe and foreuer. Amen.

³ And herby we are sure that we knowe him, yf we kepe his commaundementes. ⁴ He that sayth I knowe him, and kepeth not his commaundementes, is a liar, and the veritie is not in him.

¹² saying, Amen: Blessing and glory, wisdome, and thankes, and honoure, and power & mighte, be vnto our God for euermore: Amen.
