⁵ but seke not after Bethel. Come not at Galgal, & go not to Bersaba, for Galgal shalbe caryed awaye captyue, & Bethel shal come to naught.

³³ And Abraham planted a wood in Berseba, and called there on the name of the Lorde, the euerlastyng god:

³⁰ And I wyll destroy your alters bylt vpon hye hylles, and ouerthrow youre images and caste youre carkasses vpon the bodyes of your idolles, and my soule shall abhorre you. ³¹ And I wyl make your cityes desolate, and brynge your sanctuaries vnto nought, and wyll not smel the sauoures of your swete odoures. ³² And I wyl brynge the lande vnto a wyldernesse: so that your enemies whych dwell therin shal wonder at it.

⁴¹ Thou shalt get sonnes and daughters, but shalt not haue them: for they shalbe caryed awaye captiue.

¹⁶ & went about yere by yere, to Bethel Galgal & Mazphah, and iudged Israel in all those places,

¹⁴ Then sayde Samuel vnto the people: come & let vs go to Galgal, & renewe the kyngdom there.

²² Thy that hate the, shalbe confounded, and the dwellynges of the vngodly shall come to naught.

¹⁰ The Lorde bryngeth the counsayl of the Heythen to naught, and turneth the deuyces of the people.

¹⁰ take your councel together, yet must youre councell come to nought: go in hand with all, yet shall it not prospere. Excepte Emanuel: (that is God) be with vs.

²⁰ Then shall the furyous people ceasse, and the mockers shalbe put awaye, and all they that do wronge shalbe plucked oute,

¹⁵ Though thou Israel art disposed to play the harlot, yet shouldest not thou haue offended, O Iuda: thou shouldest not haue runne to Galgala, nor haue gone vp to Bethauen, nor haue sworne, the Lord lyueth.

¹⁵ All their wyckednesse is done at Galgal, there do I abhorre them. For the vngracyousnes of their owne inuencyons. I will driue them oute of my house. I will loue them no more, for all their princes are vnfaythfull.

⁸ The hye places of Auen where Israel do synne, shalbe caste doune: thystles and thornes shall growe vpon their aulters. Then shall they saye to the mountaynes: couer vs, and to the hylles, fall vpon vs.

¹⁴ there shall growe a sedicion amonge thy people. All thy stronge cities shalbe layd waste, euen as Salmana was destroyed with his familiers, thorow him that was auenged of Arbell, in the day of batell, where the mother peryshed wt her children. ¹⁵ Euen so shall it go with you (O Bethel) because of youre malicious wickednes. Lyke as the morninge goeth awaye, so shall the kinge of Israel passe.

¹¹ But at Galaad is the abhominacyon, they are fallen to vanitye. At Galgal they haue slayne oxen: and as many heapes of stones as they had in their lande forowes, so manye aulters haue they made.

⁴ Ye came to Bethell for to worke vngracyousnes, and haue increased youre synnes at Galgal: ye broughte youre sacryfyces in the mornynge, and youre tythes vnto the thyrde daye.

¹⁷ Wherfore thus sayeth the Lord: Thy wyfe shalbe defyled in the cytye, thy sonnes and daughters shall be slayne with the swearde, & thy lande shalbe measured out with the lyne. Thou thy selfe shalt dye in an vnclene lande, & Israel shalbe dryuen out of hys owne countre.

¹⁴ yee euen they that sweare in the offence of Samaria, and saye: as trulye as thy God lyueth at Dan, and as trulye as thy God lyueth at Bersaba. These shall fall, and neuer ryse vp agayne.

²⁸ And vile thinges of the world, and thinges whiche are despysed, hath God chosen, yea and thinges of no reputation for to bringe to nought thinges of reputation,

⁶ That we speake of, is wisdome amonge that are perfecte: not the wisdome of this world (whiche go to nought)
