¹⁶ But be it that I greued you not: neuerthelesse I was crafty and toke you with gyle.

¹² Oure reioysinge is this, the testimony of oure conscience, that in synglenes and Godly purenes, and not in fleshely wysdome, but by the grace of God, we haue had oure conuersation in the worlde, and moste of all to youwardes.

² but haue caste from vs the clokes of vnhonestye, and walke not in craftynes, neyther corrupte we the word of God: but walke in open trueth, & reporte our selues to euerye mans conscience in the syght of God.

² Vnderstande vs. We haue hurte no man: we haue corrupt no man: we haue defrauded no man.

² I beseche you, that I nede not to be bolde, when I am present (with that same confydence, wherewith I am supposed to be bolde) agaynste some whiche repute vs as though we walked carnally. ³ Neuerthelesse thoughe we walke compassed wt the fleshe, yet we ware not fleshly.

⁹ And when I was present with you, and had nede, I was greuous to no man, for that whiche was lackynge vnto me, the brethren whiche came from Macedonia, supplyed: and in all thynge I kept my selfe that I shoulde not be greuous to you, & so wyl I kepe my selfe. ¹⁰ Yf the trueth of Christe be in me, thys reioysynge shall not be taken from me in the regyons of Achaia.

¹³ For what is it wherein ye were inferyours vnto other congregacyons except it be therein that I was not greuous vnto you. Forgeue me thys wrong done vnto you.

³ Oure exhortacyon was not to bringe you to erroure, nor yet to vnclennes, neyther was it wyth gile,

⁵ Neither was our conuersacyon at anye tyme wyth flatterynge wordes, as ye well knowe neyther in cloked couetousnes, god is record:
