¹⁰ Therfore haue I delectacyon in infyrmities, in rebukes, in nede, in persecutions, in anguyshe, for Christes sake. For when I am weake, then am I stronge.

²² Blessed are ye when men hate you, and thruste you out of their companye, and rayle, & abhorre youre name as an euill thinge, for the sonne of mans sake.

²¹ But all these thinges wyll they do vnto you, for my names sake, because they haue not knowen him that sent me.

⁴¹ And they departed from the counsel, reioysinge that they were counted worthy, to suffer rebuke for his name.

³ Nether do we so only: but also we reioice in tribulacion. For we know that tribulation bryngeth pacience,

³⁵ Who shall seperate vs from the loue of God shall tribulation? or anguyshe? or persecution? othere honger? other nakednesse? other peryll? other swearde? ³⁶ As it is wrytten: For thy sake are we killed al day longe, and are counted as shepe appointed to be slayne. ³⁷ Neuerthelesse in all these thynges we ouercome stronglye thorowe hys helpe that loued vs. ³⁸ Yea and I am sure that neyther death, neither life, neyther angels, nor rule, neythere power, neythere thinges presente, neyther thynges to come, ³⁹ neyther heyght, neyther loweth, neyther any other creature? shall be able to depart vs from the lowe of God, shewed in Christ Iesu our Lord.

¹⁰ We are foles for Christes sake and ye are wise thorow Christe. We are weake, and ye are stronge. Ye are honorable, and we are despised.

⁴ whiche comforteth vs in all oure tribulacion, in so muche that we are able to comforte them, which are troubled in whatsoeuer tribulation it be, with the same comforte wherwith we our selues are comforted of God.

⁵ For we preache not oure selues, but Christ Iesus to be the Lorde, and oure selues youre seuauntes for Iesus sake.

⁸ We are troubled on euerye syde, yet are we not withoute shyfte. We are in pouerte, but not vtterlye withoute some what. ⁹ We are persecuted, but are not forsaken. We are caste doune, neuerthelesse we peryshe not. ¹⁰ And we alwayes beare in oure bodyes the dyinge of the Lorde Iesus, that the lyfe of Iesus myght appeare in oure bodyes. ¹¹ For we whiche lyue are alwayes delyuered vnto deathe for Iesus sake, that the lyfe also of Iesu myghte appeare in oure mortall fleshe.

¹⁷ For oure excedynge trybulation whiche is momentanye and lyghte, prepareth an excedynge and eternall wayghte of glory vnto vs,

¹⁵ and that he dyed for all, that they which lyue, shoulde not hence forth lyue vnto them selues, but vnto hym, whiche dyed for them, and rose agayne.

⁴ but in al thynges let vs behaue our selues as the ministers of God. In muche pacience, in afflictions, in necessitie, in anguishe,

⁴ I am very bolde ouer you, and reioyce gentelye in you. I am fylled with comforte, and am excedynge ioyouse in all oure trybulatyons.

¹⁸ For he that prayseth hym self, is not allowed: but he whom the Lorde prayseth.

²³ They are the ministers of CHRISTE (I speake as a fole) I am more: In labours more aboundaunte: In strypes aboue measure: In pryson more plentuouslye: In death ofte. ²⁴ Of the Iewes .v. tymes receyued I euerye tyme .xl. strypes saue one. ²⁵ Thryse was I beaten with roddes. I was once stoned. I suffered thryse shipwracke. Nyght and daye haue I bene in the depe of the sea. ²⁶ In iorneyeyng often: in parils of waters: in parylles of robbers: in ieoperdyes amonge the heathen. I haue bene in peryls in cytyes, in peryls in wyldernes, in peryls in the sea, in peryls among false brethren, ²⁷ in laboure and trauayle, in watchyng often, in hunger, in thyrste, in fastynges often, in colde, and in nakednes. ²⁸ And besyde the thynges whiche outwardelye happen vnto me, I am combered dayelye, and do care for all congregations. ²⁹ Who is weake, and I am not weake? Who is hurte in the faythe, and my herte burneth not? ³⁰ Yf I muste nedes reioyce, I wyll reioyce of myne infirmities.

⁹ And he sayde vnto me: my grace is suffycyent for the. For my strengthe is made perfecte thorowe weakenes. Very gladly therfor wil I reioyce of my weakenes, that the strength of Christe maye dwell in me

⁴ And verely thoughe it came of weakenes that he was crucyfyed, yet liueth he thorowe the power of GOD. And we no doubte are weake in hym: but we shall lyue with hym by the myght of God among you.

⁹ we are glad when we are weake, & ye strong. Thys also we wyshe for, euen that ye were perfecte.

¹⁰ Finally my brethren, be stronge in the Lord and in the power of his myghte.

²⁹ For vnto you it is geuen, that not onely ye should beleue on Christ, but also suffre for his sake,

¹⁷ Yea, and though I be offered vp vpon the offeringe and sacrifyce of youre fayth: I reioyce, and reioyce wyth you al. ¹⁸ For the same cause also, reioyce ye, and reioyce ye wyth me.

²⁴ Nowe ioye I in my sufferinges which I suffer for you, and fulfyll that whiche is behinde of the passions of Christe in my fleshe for his bodies sake, which is the congregacion,

⁴ so that we oure selues reioyse of you in the congregacions of GOD ouer youre pacience and fayth in al youre persecucyons and trybulacyons that ye suffer,

² My brethren, count it excedyng ioye when ye fal into dyuers temptacyons,

⁶ in the whiche tyme ye shall reioyce, thoughe nowe for a season (yf nede requyre) ye are in heauynes, thorow manyfolde temptacyon, ⁷ that youre faythe ones tryed beynge muche more precyous, then golde that perysheth (though it be tryed with fyre) myghte be founde vnto laude, glory, and honoure, at the apearynge of Iesus Christ

¹³ but reioice in as much as ye are partakers of Christes passions, that when his glory appereth, ye maye be mery and glad. ¹⁴ If ye be railed vpon for the name of Christ, happie are ye. For the spyryte of glorye, and the spyryte of Gad resteth vpon you. On theyr parte he is euyll spoken of, but on your parte he is glorified.

³ and dydest washe thy selfe. And hast pacience, and for my names sake hast labored and hast not faynted:
