¹⁵ But he that is spyrytuall, discusseth all thinges: yet he hym selfe is iudged of no man.

¹⁶ And Dauid besought god for the boye and fasted and wente & laye all nyght vpon the earthe. ¹⁷ And the elders of hys house arose and wente to him to take hym vp from the earthe. But he wolde not, neyther yet eat meat wyth them. ¹⁸ And it happened the seuenth daye that the chylde dyed. But the seruauntes of Dauid durst not tell hym that the chylde was dead. For they said, se while the child was yet aliue, we spake vnto hym, and he wolde not herken vnto oure voyce. How much more then wil he vexe hym selfe yf we tell hym that the chylde is dead? ¹⁹ But Dauid sawe hys seruauntes whysperyng and therby perceyued that the childe was dead, and sayde vnto hys seruauntes: is the chylde dead. And they sayd ye. ²⁰ Then Dauid arose from the earth, & wasshed & anoynted hym self & chaunged his apparell, & went into the house of the Lorde & prayed, & after came to hys owne house & bade that they shulde set meate before hym, and he dyd eate. ²¹ Then sayd hys seruauntes vnto hym: what is thys that thou hast done? Thou fastedest and wepest for thy chylde whyle it was aliue, and as sone as it was dead thou dyddest ryse vp, and dyddest eate meate. ²² And he aunswered: while the chylde was alyue, I fasted and wept. For I this thought: who can tel whether God wil haue mercye on me that the chylde may lyue. ²³ But now seynge it is dead, wherfore shulde I fast? can I brynge hym agayne any more? I shall go to hym: but he shall not come agayne to me.

¹⁷ Then thine handmaid sayd: I praye God that the worde of my Lorde the kinge maye be immutable. For my Lord the kynge is as an angell of God, in hearinge of good or bad: and therfore the Lorde thy God be with the.

⁹ Geue therfore vnto thy seruaunt an vnderstandynge herte to iudge thy people, & to decerne betwene good, and bad. For who is able to iudge thys thy so waightye a people. ¹⁰ And it pleased the Lord well, that Salomon had desyred thys thynge. ¹¹ Wherfore God said vnto him: because thou hast asked this thynge and hast not asked long life, nether hast asked ryches, nor the lyues of thyne enemies, but hast asked the discrecion to vnderstand equite.

¹⁴ The secrete of the Lorde is amonge them that feare him, and he sheweth them hys couenaunt.

⁵ Wycked men discerue not the thynge that is ryght, but they that seke after the Lord, discusse al thynges.

⁵ Who so kepeth the commaundement, shal fele no harme: but a wise mans herte discerneth tyme and maner:

¹⁷ If any man wil do his wyll he shall knowe of the doctryne, whither it be of God, or whither I speake of my selfe.

¹ Then came certayne from Iewrye, and taughte the brethren: excepte ye be circumcised after the maner of Moyses, ye can not be saued. ² And when there was rysen dissention and disputyng not a lytle vnto Paul and Barnabas against them. They determyned that Paule and Barnabas, and certayne other of them, should ascende to Hierusalem vnto the Apostles and elders about this question. ³ And after they were brought on theyr waye by the congregacyon, they passed ouer Phenices and Samaria declarynge the conuersyon of the Gentyls, and they brought great ioye vnto all the brethren. ⁴ And when they were come to Ierusalem, they were receyued of the congregacyon, and of the Apostles and elders. And they declared what thynges God had done by them. ⁵ Then arose there vp certayne that were of the secte of the Pharises which dyd beleue, saying, that it was nedefull, to circumcyse them and to enioyne them to kepe the lawe of Moyses.

³ The same Paule woulde that he shoulde go forthe with hym, and toke and circumcysed him, because of the Iewes whiche were in those quarters: for they knewe all, that hys father was a Greke.

¹ And I coulde not speake vnto you brethren as vnto spiritual, but as vnto carnal, euen as it were to babes in Christ:

⁵ Therfore iudge nothinge before the tyme vntill the Lorde come, who wyll lyghten thinges, that are hyd in darckenes, and open the counsels of the hertes. And then shall euery man haue praise of God.

³⁷ Yf anye man thinke hym selfe a Prophet, either spyrytuall. let him vnderstand, what thinges I write vnto you. For they are the commaundementes of the Lorde.

³ Also Tytus which was wt me, though he were a Greke, yet was not compelled to be circumcysed, ⁴ and that because of incommers beynge false brethren which came in amonge other to spye out our lybertye which we haue in Christe Iesus, that they myghte brynge vs into bondage. ⁵ To whom we gaue no roume, no not for the space of an houre, as concernynge to be brought into subieccion, & that because that the truth of the Gospel might contynue with you.

¹ Brethren, yf any man be fallen by chaunce into any faute: ye which are spyrytuall helpe to amende hym, in the spyryte of mekenes, consyderynge thy selfe leste thou also be tempted.

¹³ tyl we euerie one (in the vnitie of fayth, and knowledge of the sonne of God) growe vp into a perfecte man, after the measure of age of the fulnes of Christ. ¹⁴ That we henceforth be no more chyldren, waueringe and caryed wyth euerye wynde of doctryne, by the wylynes of men and craftynes, wherby they laye awayte for vs to deceyue vs.

¹⁰ that ye myght accepte thinges moste excellent, that ye might be pure and such as should hurte no mannes conscience, vntyll the daye of Christe,

⁹ For this cause we also, sence the daye we heard of it, haue not ceased prayeng for you, and desiring that ye myght be fulfilled with the knowledge of his will, in all wysdome, and spiritual vnderstandinge,

²¹ Examen all thinges, and kepe that which is good.

¹⁴ But stronge meate belongeth to them that are perfecte, which thorow custome haue theyr wittes exercised to iudge both good and euil also.

¹ Ye beloued, beleue not euery spirite, but proue the spirites whether they be of God, or not, for manye false prophetes are gone out into the world.
