² For he that speaketh wyth tounges speaketh not vnto men, but vnto God, for no man heareth hym, howe be it in the spyryte he speaketh mysteryes.

⁷ Come on, let vs descende, and myngle theyr tonge euen there, that one vnderstande not what another sayeth.

²³ They were not aware that Ioseph vnderstode them, for he spake vnto them by an interpreter.

⁴⁹ And the Lord shal brynge a nacyon vpon the from a farre, euen from the ende of the world, as swyfte as an egle flyeth: a nacyon whose tonge thou shalt not vnderstande:

²⁶ Then sayd Eliakim the sonne of Helkiah and Sobnah & Ioah, to Rabsakeh: speake we pray the to thy seruaunts in the Syryans language for we vnderstande it: & talke not wyth vs in the Iewes tonge, in the eares of the people that are on the walles.

³ My mouth shall speake of wysdome, and my hert shall muse of vnderstandynge. ⁴ I will enclyne myne eare to the parable, and shewe my darke speach vpon the harpe.

² I wyll open my mouth in parables, and speake of thynges of olde.

¹¹ He aunswered and sayde vnto theym: it is geuen vnto you to know the secretes of the kyngdom of heauen, but to them it is not geuen

¹¹ & he sayd vnto them: To you it is geuen to knowe the mysterye of the kyngedome of God. But vnto them that are without: shal al thynges be done in similitudes:

¹⁷ And these sygnes shall folowe them that beleue. In my name they shall caste oute deuils, & shall speake with newe tonges,

⁴ and they were all filled with the holye ghoste, and began to speake wyth other tounges, euen as the spyryte gaue them vtteraunce. ⁵ And there were dwelling at Hierusalem Iewes, deuout men, whyche were of all nations vnder heauen. ⁶ When thys was noysed aboute, the multitude came together & were astonied, because that euery man hearde them speake hys owne toung. ⁷ They wondred all & merueyled sayinge among them selues: Behold are not al these which speake of Galile? ⁸ And how heare we euery man his own tounge wherin we were borne? ⁹ Parthians, Medes, and Elamites, and the inhabiters of Mesopotamia, of Iewry, and of Cappadocia, and of Ponthus and Asia, ¹⁰ Phrysia, Pamphilia, and of Egypte, and of the parties of Libia, which is besyde Syren, and straungers of Rome, Iewes, and conuertes, ¹¹ Grekes, and Arabians: we haue heard them speake: wyth our owne tounges the great workes of God.

⁴⁶ For they heard them speake wyth tounges & magnified God. Then aunswered Peter.

⁶ and Paule layed hys handes vpon them, and the holy Ghoste came on them, and they spake wyth tonges and prophecied,

⁹ And they that were with me sawe verelye a lyghte and were afrayde: but they hearde not the voyce of hym that spake with me.

²⁵ To hym that is of power to stablysh you, accordynge to my Gospell and preachinge of Iesus Christe, in vtterynge of the mysterye whiche was kepte secrete sence the worlde began,

⁷ but we speake that wysdome of God, whiche is in secrete and lyeth hyd, whiche God ordeined before the world vnto oure glory,

¹⁰ But God hath opened them to vs by hys spirite. For the spirite searcheth al thinges, ye the bottome of Goddes secretes.

² And though I could prophecye, and vnderstande all secretes, and all knowledge: yea, yf I had all fayth so that I coulde moue mountaines out of theyr places, and yet had no loue, I were nothing.

⁹ Euen so likewyse when ye speake with tounges, excepte ye speake wordes that haue signifycacion, howe shall it be vnderstande what is spoken? For ye shall but speake in the ayer. ¹⁰ Manye kindes of voices are in the worlde and none of them are wythout significacion. ¹¹ If I knowe not what the voice meaneth, I shalbe vnto hym that speaketh, an alient: and he that speaketh shall be alient vnto me

¹⁶ For els when thou blessest with the spirite howe shal he that occupieth the roume of the vnlearned saye amen at thy geuynge of thankes, saynge: he vnderstandeth not what thou sayeste?

¹⁸ I thanke my God, I speake with tounges more then ye all. ¹⁹ Yet had I leuer in the congregation, to speake fyue wordes with my mynd to the information of other, rather then .x. thousand wordes with the tounge. ²⁰ Brethren be not chyldren in wyt howebeit as concerninge maliciousnes be children: but in wyt be perfect. ²¹ In the lawe it is written, wyth other tounges, and with other lippes wyl I speake vnto thys people, and yet for al that wil they not heare me, sayeth the Lorde. ²² Wherfore, tounges are for a signe, not to them that beleue, but to them that beleue not. Contrarywyse propheciyng serueth not, for them that beleue not: but for them whiche beleue. ²³ Yf therfore when all the congregation is come together, and all speake wyth tounges, there come in they that are vnlearned, or they whyche beleue not: wyll they not saye that ye are out of your wyttes?

²⁷ If anye man speake wyth tounges, let it be two at ones, or at the moste thre at ones, and that by course: and let another interprete it. ²⁸ But yf there be no interpreter, let him kepe silence in the congregation, and let him speake to him selfe and to God.

⁵¹ Beholde I shewe you a mysterye. We shal not al slepe: but we shal al be chaunged,

³ For by reuelation shewed he this misterie to me as I wrote aboue in fewe wordes, ⁴ wherby when ye reade, ye maye knowe myne vnderstandinge in the misterye of Christe. ⁵ Which mysterye in tymes passed was not opened to the sonnes of men, as it is now declared vnto his holye Apostles and Prophetes by the spyrite ⁶ that the Gentyles shoulde be inheritours also, and of the same bodye, and partakers of hys promes that is in Christe, by the meanes of the Gospell, ⁷ wherof I am made a mynyster, by the gyfte of the grace of God geuen vnto me thorowe the workynge of hys power. ⁸ Vnto me the leaste of all sainctes is this grace geuen, that I shoulde preache amonge the Gentyls the vnsearcheable ryches of Christe, ⁹ and to make all men se what the fellowshyp of the mysterye is, whiche from the beginninge of the worlde hath bene hyde in God, whiche made all thinges thorowe Iesus Christ,

¹⁹ and for me, that vtteraunce maye be geuen vnto me, that I maye open my mouth bloudly, to vtter the secretes of the Gospel,

²⁶ that mistery hyd sence the world beganne, and sence the begynnynge of generacyons: but now is opened to hys sainctes ²⁷ to whom God woulde make knowen the glorious riches of this misterye amonge the Gentyls, whiche ryches is Christ, in you the hope of glorye,

² that their hertes mighte be comforted and knit together in loue, and in all riches of full vnderstandinge for to knowe the mystery of God the father and of Christe,

⁹ but hauing the mystery of the fayth in a pure conscience.

¹⁶ And wythout naye greate is that mysterye of godlynes: God was shewed in the fleshe, was iustified in the spirite, was sene of aungels, was preached vnto the gentils, was beleued on in earth and receyued vp in glory.

⁷ but in the dayes of the voyce of the seuenth aungel, when he shal begyn to blow, euen the mistery of God shalbe fynished as he preached by his seruauntes the prophetes.
