1 Corinthians 11 Cross References - Matthew

1 Folowe me, as I do Christe. 2 I commende you brethren that ye remembre me in al thinges, & kepe the ordinaunces euen as I deliuered them to you. 3 I woulde you knewe that Christ is the heade of euery man. And the man is the womans heade. And God is Christes heade. 4 Euery man praiynge or prophesiynge hauing any thinge on his heade, shameth his head. 5 Euery woman that prayeth or prophesyeth bare headed, dishonesteth her heade. For it is euen all one, and the very same thinge, euen as though she were shauen. 6 If the woman be not couered, let her also be shoren. If it be shame for a woman to be shorne or shauen let her couer her head. 7 A man oughte not to couer his heade, for as muche as he is the ymage and glorye of God. The woman is the glorye of the man. 8 For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man. 9 Neither was the man created for the womans sake: but the woman for the mannes sake. 10 For thys cause ought the woman to haue power on her heade, for the aungels sakes. 11 Neuerthelesse, neyther is the man wythout the woman neyther the woman wythout the man in the Lorde. 12 For as the woman is of the man, euen so is the man by the woman: but al is of God. 13 Iudge in your selfes whether it be comelye, that a woman praye vnto God beare headed. 14 Or els doeth not nature teache you that it is a shame for a man, 15 yf he haue longe heyr, & prayse to a woman, yf she haue longe heyre? For her heyre is geuen her to couer her wythall. 16 If there be anye man amonge you, that lusteth to striue let hym knowe that we haue no suche custome, neither the congregations of God. 17 This I warne you of, and commende not that ye come together: not after a better maner but after a worsse. 18 Fyrste of all when ye come together in the congregacion, I heare that there is dyssencyon amonge you, and I partely, beleue it. 19 For there muste be sectes amonge you, that they whyche are perfecte amonge you, myghte be knowen. 20 When ye come together a man can not eate the Lordes supper. For euery man beginneth afore to eate hys owne supper. 21 And one is houngerye, and another is drounken. Haue ye not houses to eate and to drinke in? 22 Or els despise ye the congregacion of God and shame them that haue not? What shall I saye vnto you? shall I prayse you: In thys prayse I you not. 23 That whiche I delyuered you, I receiued of the Lorde. For the Lorde Iesus the same nyght, in whyche he was betrayed, toke breade, 24 and thanked and brake, and sayde. Take ye, eate ye thys is my bodye whiche is broken for you. Thys do ye in the remembraunce of me. 25 After the same maner he toke the cuppe, when supper was done, saying. Thys cuppe is the newe testamente in my bloude. Thys do as ofte as ye drynke it, in the remembraunce of me. 26 For as often as ye shal eate thys breade, and drincke this cuppe, ye shall shewe the Lordes death tyll he come. 27 Wherfore whosoeuer shall eate of this bread, or drinke of the cuppe vnworthely, shall be gyltie of the bodye and bloude of the Lorde. 28 Let a man therfore examen hym selfe, and so let hym eate of the breade and drynke of the cuppe. 29 For he that eateth or drinketh vnworthelye, eateth and drynketh his owne dampnation, because he maketh no difference of the Lordes bodye. 30 For this cause manye are weake and sycke amonge you, and manye slepe. 31 Yf we had truely iudged our selues, we should not haue ben iudged. 32 But when we are iudged of the Lorde, we are chastened, because we shoulde not be dampued wyth the worlde. 33 Wherfore my brethren, when ye come together to eate, tary one for another. 34 If any man hunger, let hym eate at home, that ye come not together vnto condempnation. Other thynges wil I set in order when I come.

20 For the father loueth the sonne, & sheweth hym all thinges, whatsoeuer he him selfe doeth. And he wyll shewe hym greater workes then these, because ye should maruaile. 21 For lykewyse as the father rayseth vp the dead, and quickeneth them: euen so the sonne quickeneth whom he wyll. 22 Neyther iudgeth the father anye man: but hath committed all iudgement vnto the sonne, 23 because that all men should honoure the sonne, euen as they honoured the father. He that honoureth not the sonne: the same honoureth not the father, which hath sent him. 24 Verely, verely I say vnto you he that heareth my wordes, and beleueth on him that sent me, hath euerlasting lyfe, & shal not come into damnacion: but is escaped from death vnto lyfe. 25 Verely verely, I saye vnto you: The tyme shall come, and nowe is, when the dead shall heare the voyce of the sonne of God. And they that heare shall lyue. 26 For as the father hath lyfe in him selfe, so lykewyse hath he geuen to the sonne to haue lyfe in him selfe, 27 and hath geuen him power also to iudge, in that he is the sonne of man. 28 Maruaile not at this, the houre shall come in the which all that are in the graues, shal heare his voice, 29 and shall come forth: they that haue done good, vnto the resurreccion of lyfe, and they that hath done euil, vnto the resurreccion of damnacion. 30 I can of myne owne selfe do nothinge at all. John 6:53-58

53 Then Iesus saide to them. Verely, verely, I say vnto you: excepte ye eate the fleshe of the sonne of man and drinke his bloude, ye shall not haue lyue in you. 54 Whosoeuer eateth my flesh, and drinketh my bloude, hath eternal lyfe: and I wyll rayse him vp at the laste day. 55 For my flesh is meate in dede, and my bloude is drinke in dede. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my bloude, dwelt in me and I in him. 57 As the liuinge father hath sent me, euen so lyue I by my father, and he that eateth me shall lyue by me. 58 This is the bread which came from heauen: not as your fathers haue eaten Manna and are dead. He that eateth of this breade, shall lyue euer.

John 6:63-64

He that receyueth whomesoeuer I sende, receyueth me. And he that receyueth me, receyueth him that sent me. 21 When Iesus had thus sayed, he was troubled in the spirite, and testifyed, saiynge: verelye verelye I saye vnto you, that one of you shall betraye me. 22 And then the disciples loked one on another, doubtinge of whom he spake. 23 There was one of hys disciples which leaned on Iesus bosome whome Iesus loued. 24 To him beckened Simon Peter that he shuld axe who it was, of whom he spake. 25 He then as he leaned on Iesus breste sayed vnto hym: Lorde who is it? 26 Iesus aunswered, he it is to whom I geue a sop, when I haue depte it. And he wet a soppe, and gaue it to Iudas Iscaryoth Simons sonne. 27 And after the sop Satan entred into hym. Then sayde Iesus vnto hym: that thou doest, do quickly.

1 Corinthians 12:10

10 To another power to do miracles. To another prophecie. To another iudgement of spirites. To an other diuerse tounges. To another the interpretation of tounges.

1 Corinthians 12:12-22

12 For as the bodye is one, and hath manye membres, and all the membres of one bodye though they be many, yet are they but one bodye: euen so is Christ. 13 For in one spyryte are we al baptysed to make one body, whether we be Iewes or Gentiles, whether we be bounde or fre: and haue al drounke of one spirite. 14 For the body is not one member, but manye. 15 Yf the fote saye: I am not the hand, therfore I am not of the bodye: is he therfore not of the bodye? 16 And yf the eare saye, I am not the eye: therfore I am not of the bodye: is he therfore not of the bodie? 17 If al the bodye were an eye, where were then the eare? If all were hearinge? wher were the smellynge? 18 But nowe hath God disposed the membres euerye one of them in the bodye, at hys owne pleasure, 19 If they were al one member: where were the bodye? 20 Nowe are there manye membres, yet but one bodye. 21 And the eye can not saye vnto the hand: I haue no nede of the: nor the heade also to the fete. I haue no nede of you. 22 Yea rather a greate deale those members of the bodye, whyche seme to be moste feble, are moste necessarye.

1 Corinthians 12:28

28 And God hath also ordeined in the congregation, fyrst the Apostles, secondarely prophetes, thyrdely teachers then them that do miracles: after that the giftes of healinge, helpers, gouernes, diuersitie of tounges.

1 Corinthians 14:1-25

1 Laboure for loue, and couete spyrytuall gyftes: and moste chiefely for to prophecye. 2 For he that speaketh wyth tounges speaketh not vnto men, but vnto God, for no man heareth hym, howe be it in the spyryte he speaketh mysteryes. 3 But he that prophecyeth, speaketh vnto men, to edifiynge, to exhortation and to comforte. 4 He that speaketh wyth tounges profyteth hym selfe: he that prophecieth edifyeth the congregation. 5 I woulde that ye all spake with tounges: but rather that ye prophecyed. For greater is he that prophecieth, then he that speaketh with tounges, excepte he expounde it also, that the congregacion maye haue edifiyng. 6 Nowe brethren yf I come vnto you speakinge with tounges, what shall I profite you, excepte I speake vnto you, other by reuelation or knowledge, or propheciynge, or doctryne. 7 Moreouer when thynges wythout lyfe, geue sounde: whether it be a pipe or an harpe excepte they make a distinction in the soundes, howe shal it be knowen what is piped or harped? 8 And also yf the trompe geue an vncertaine voice, who shall prepare him selfe to fyght? 9 Euen so likewyse when ye speake with tounges, excepte ye speake wordes that haue signifycacion, howe shall it be vnderstande what is spoken? For ye shall but speake in the ayer. 10 Manye kindes of voices are in the worlde and none of them are wythout significacion. 11 If I knowe not what the voice meaneth, I shalbe vnto hym that speaketh, an alient: and he that speaketh shall be alient vnto me 12 Euen so ye (for as much as ye couete spiritual gyftes) seke that ye maye haue plentye vnto the edifiyng of the congregation. 13 Wherfore let him that speaketh with tounges praye, that he maye interprete also. 14 If I praye wyth tounges, my spyryte prayeth: but my mynde is wythout fruite. 15 What is it then? I wyl praye with the spirite, and wyll praye with mynde also. I wil singe with the spyrite, and wil singe with the minde also. 16 For els when thou blessest with the spirite howe shal he that occupieth the roume of the vnlearned saye amen at thy geuynge of thankes, saynge: he vnderstandeth not what thou sayeste? 17 Thou verelye geueste thankes wel, but the other is not edifyed. 18 I thanke my God, I speake with tounges more then ye all. 19 Yet had I leuer in the congregation, to speake fyue wordes with my mynd to the information of other, rather then .x. thousand wordes with the tounge. 20 Brethren be not chyldren in wyt howebeit as concerninge maliciousnes be children: but in wyt be perfect. 21 In the lawe it is written, wyth other tounges, and with other lippes wyl I speake vnto thys people, and yet for al that wil they not heare me, sayeth the Lorde. 22 Wherfore, tounges are for a signe, not to them that beleue, but to them that beleue not. Contrarywyse propheciyng serueth not, for them that beleue not: but for them whiche beleue. 23 Yf therfore when all the congregation is come together, and all speake wyth tounges, there come in they that are vnlearned, or they whyche beleue not: wyll they not saye that ye are out of your wyttes?

1 Corinthians 14:23

23 Yf therfore when all the congregation is come together, and all speake wyth tounges, there come in they that are vnlearned, or they whyche beleue not: wyll they not saye that ye are out of your wyttes? 24 But and yf all prophecye, and there come in one that beleueth not, or one vnlearned, he is rebuked of al men, and is iudged of euerye man: 25 and so are the secretes of hys herte opened, and so falleth he doune on hys face, and worshyppeth God, & sayeth that God is wyth you in dede. 26 Howe is it then brethren? When ye come together, euerye man hath his songe, hath his doctryne, hath his tounge, hath hys reuelation, hath hys interpretation. Let al thynges be done vnto edifiynge.

1 Corinthians 14:33-34

33 For God is not causer of strife, but of peace, as he is in all other congregations of the sainctes. 34 Let your wyues kepe silence in the congregations. For it is not permitted vnto them to speake: but let them be vnder obedience, as sayeth the lawe.

1 Corinthians 14:34-34

34 Let your wyues kepe silence in the congregations. For it is not permitted vnto them to speake: but let them be vnder obedience, as sayeth the lawe. 35 If they wil learne anye thynge, let them axe theyr husbandes at home. For it is shame for women to speake in the congregation.

5 Proue youre selues whether you be in the fayth or not. Examen your owne selues: know ye not your owne selues, howe that Iesha Christe is in you, except ye be casteawayes? 6 I truste that ye shall knowe that we be not cast awayes. 7 I desyre before God that ye do none euyll, not that we shoulde seme commendale, but that ye shoulde do that which is honest: and let vs be counted as leude persons.
