¹⁵ And Machir gaue to Huphim and Suphim wyues. And the name of hys syster was Maacah. And the name of another sonne was Zalphahad. And Zalphahad had doughters.

³³ And Zelaphead the sonne of Hephera had no sonnes but daughters. And the names of the daughters of Zelaphead were Mahela, Noa, Hagla, Milcha and Thirza.

¹ And the daughters of Zelaphead the Sonne of Heber the sonne of Gilead, the sonne of Machir the sonne of Manasse of the kynredes of Manasse, the sone of Ioseph (whose names were Mahela, Noha, Hagla, Melcha, and Thyrza) ² came and stode before Moses & Eleazar, the priest & before the Lordes & all the multitude in the dore of the tabernacle of wytnes saying ³ our father dyed in the wyldernesse, & was not amonge the companye of theim that gathered them selues togyther agaynst the Lord in the congregation of Corah: But dyed in hys owne synne, and had no sonnes. ⁴ Wherfore sholde the name of our fathers be taken away from amonge hys kynred, bycause he had no sonne? Gyue vnto vs a possession among the brethren of our father. ⁵ And Moses brought theyr cause before the Lorde. ⁶ And the Lorde spake vnto Moses sayinge: ⁷ The daughters of Zelaphead speake ryght thou shalt gyue them a possession to enherit among their fathers brethren, & shalte turne the enheritaunce of their father vnto theim. ⁸ And speake vnto the children of Israel saying If a man dye & haue no sonne ye shall turne hys enheritaunce vnto hys daughter. ⁹ If he haue no doughter, ye shall gyue hys enheritaunce vnto hys brethren. ¹⁰ If he haue no brethren, ye shall gyue hys enheritaunce vnto hys fathers brethren. ¹¹ If he haue no fathers brethren, ye shal giue hys enheritaunce vnto hym that is nexte to hym of hys kynred, and lette hym possesse it. And thys shall be vnto the chyldren of Israell an ordinaunce, and a lawe, as the Lorde hathe commaunded Moses.

¹ And the auncyent heades of the children of Galaad the sonne of Machir the sonne of Manasse of the kynred of the children of Ioseph, came forth and spake before Moses and the prynces which were auncient heades amonge the chyldren of Israel ² and sayd. The Lord commaunded my Lorde to geue the land to enheret by lotte to the chyldren of Israell. And then my Lorde commaunded in the name of the Lorde to geue the enheritaunce of Zelaphead oure brother vnto hys daughters. ³ Nowe when any of the sonnes of the trybes of Israell take them to wyues, then shall their enheritaunce be taken from the enheritaunce of our fathers, and shal be put vnto the enherytaunce of the trybe in whych they are and shalbe taken from the lot of oure enheritaunce. ⁴ And when the yere of iubelye cometh vnto the chyldren of Israell, then shal their enheritaunce be put vnto the enheritaunce of the trybe wherin they are, and so shall their enheritaunce be taken awaye from the enheritaunce of the trybe of oure fathers. ⁵ And Moses commaunded the chyldren of Israell at the mouth of the Lord sayinge: the trybe of the chyldren of Ioseph haue sayde well. ⁶ Thys therfore doeth the Lorde commaunde the daughters of Zelaphead sayinge: let them be wyues to whom they them selfe thyncke best, but in the kynred of the trybe of theyr father shall they marye, ⁷ that the enheritaunce of the chyldren of Israel roule not from trybe to trybe. But that the chyldren of Israell maye abyde, euery man in the enheritaunce of the trybe of hys fathers. ⁸ And euery daughter that possesseth any enheritaunce amonge the trybes of the children of Israell, shalbe wyfe vnto one of the kynred of the trybe of her father, that the children of Israel may enioye euery man the enheritaunce of his father, ⁹ and that the enheritaunce go not from one trybe to another: but that the trybes of the chyldren of Israel, maye abyde euery man in his owne enherytaunce. ¹⁰ And as the Lorde commaunded Moses euen so dyd the daughters of Zelaphead: ¹¹ Mahela, Thirza, Hagla, Milcha and Noa, and were maryed vnto their fathers brothers sonnes, ¹² of the kynred of the chyldren of Manasses the sonne of Ioseph: and so they had their enheritaunce in the trybe of the kynred of their father.
