³⁷ whoever receives such a child as this upon my account, receives me; and he that receiveth me, does not so properly receive me, as the commands of him that sent me.

⁴⁰ He that receives you, receives me; and he that receives me, receives him that sent me. ⁴¹ he that receives a prophet in quality of a prophet, shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receives a just man, as such, shall receive the reward of the just. ⁴² and whoever shall give only a cup of cold water to the meanest of you, considering him as my disciple, shall most assuredly be far from losing his reward.

³ and said, I declare to you, except ye lay aside your ambition, and become as children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of the Messias. ⁴ he therefore who shall become as void of ambition as this child, he shall be greatest in the kingdom of the Messiah. ⁵ and whoever shall receive one that is like such a child, in my name, receiveth me.

¹⁰ take care not to despise one of such an humble disposition: for I tell you, that in heaven their angels are continually attending the presence of my father who is in heaven:

⁸ he therefore that violates these precepts, does not despise man, but God, who has endued me with his holy spirit.
