¹⁷ for God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

²³ a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel," that is to say, God our Saviour.

¹⁰ take care not to despise one of such an humble disposition: for I tell you, that in heaven their angels are continually attending the presence of my father who is in heaven:

¹⁵ you pass sentence according to your passions: I pass sentence on no man; ¹⁶ and yet if I did judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I am with the father who has sent me.

⁴² Jesus said to them, if God were your father, ye would love me: for I was commissioned by God to come; I did not come of my self, but he sent me.

³⁶ how can you say that I blaspheme, I whom the father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, because I said I am the son of God?

⁴² I know that thou hearest me always: but I say this, because of the people here present, that they may believe that thou hast sent me."

⁴⁷ but if any man hear my words, and does not believe them, it is not I that condemn him: for I came not to condemn the world, but to save the world. ⁴⁸ he that rejecteth me, and does not embrace my doctrine, hath one that condemns him: the doctrine that I have delivered, that shall condemn him in the last day.

³ and this is life eternal, to acknowledge thee to be the only true God, and Jesus to be the Messiah whom thou hast sent.

⁸ for I have given to them the instructions which you gave me; and they have received them; and have sincerely believ'd that I came from thee, and are persuaded that thou didst send me.

²¹ that they all may be one, as thou, father, art in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

²¹ then said Jesus to them again, "peace be with you: as my father hath sent me, even so send I you."

⁵ for there is but one God, and but one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, ⁶ who gave himself for the redemption of all mankind: this is what was to be promulg'd in due time:

² he is the the victim that has expiated our sins: and not ours only, but likewise the sins of the whole world.
