⁴⁵ If there be any faithful servant and wise, whom his master hath made ruler over his household, for to give them meat in season convenient;

² "Thou son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and speak unto them, 'Thus sayeth the LORD God: Woe be unto the shepherds of Israel, that feed themselves. Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

²⁴ "Whosoever heareth of me these sayings, and doeth the same, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house on a rock:

¹⁶ "Behold, I send you forth as sheep among wolves: Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and innocent as doves.

⁴¹ Then Peter said unto him, "Master tellest thou this similitude unto us, or to all men?" ⁴² And the Lord said, "If there be any faithful servant, and wise, whom his Lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their duty of meat, at due season: ⁴³ Happy is that servant, whom his master when he cometh shall find so doing.

¹⁰ He that is faithful in that which is least: the same is faithful in much. ¹¹ So then if ye have not been faithful in the wicked mammon, who will believe you in that which is true? ¹² And if ye have not been faithful in another man's business: who shall give you your own?

¹⁷ And he said unto him, 'Well good servant, because thou wast faithful in a very little thing; Take thou authority over ten cities.'

²⁸ Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, whereof the holy ghost hath made you overseers: to rule the congregation of God, which he hath purchased with his blood.

¹ And I could not speak unto you brethren as unto spiritual: but as unto carnal, even as it were unto babes in Christ. ² I gave you milk to drink and not meat. For ye then were not strong — no, neither yet are strong.

¹ Let men this wise esteem us, even as the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the secrets of God. ² Furthermore it is required of the stewards that they be found faithful.

¹¹ And the very same, made some Apostles, some Prophets, some Evangelists, some Shepherds, some Teachers: ¹² that the saints might have all things necessary to work and minister withal, to the edifying of the body of Christ, ¹³ till we, everyone — in the unity of faith, and knowledge of the son of God — grow up unto a perfect man, after the measure of age which is of the fullness of Christ:

¹² And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord which hath made me strong: for he counted me true, and put me in office,

² And what things thou hast heard of me, many bearing witness, the same deliver to faithful men, which are apt to teach others.

⁵ And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a minister, to bear witness of those things which should be spoken afterward.

¹⁰ As every man hath received the gift, minister the same one to another as good ministers of the manifold grace of God. ¹¹ If any man speak, let him talk as though he spake the words of God. If any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God ministereth unto him. That God, in all things, may be glorified through Jesus Christ: to whom be praise and dominion forever and while the world standeth. Amen.

¹ The elders which are among you I exhort, which am also an elder and a witness of the afflictions of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be opened: ² see that ye feed Christ's flock, which is among you, taking the oversight of them: not as though ye were compelled thereto, but willingly; Not for the desire of filthy lucre, but of a good mind. ³ Not as though ye were lords over the parishes: but that ye be an example to the flock.

¹³ I know thy works and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is, and thou keepest my name and hast not denied my faith. And in my days Antipas was a faithful witness of mine, which was slain among you where Satan dwelleth.
