⁴⁰ In these two commandments, hang all the law and the prophets."

¹² "Therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, even so do ye to them: this is the law and the prophets.

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ Yea and we know that whatsoever the law saith, he saith it to them which are under the law: That all mouths may be stopped, and all the world be subdued to God, ²⁰ because that by the deeds of the law, shall no flesh be justified in the sight of God. For by the law cometh the knowledge of sin. ²¹ Now, verily, is the righteousness that cometh of God declared without the fulfilling of the law: having witness yet of the law, and of the prophets.

⁹ For these commandments: Thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness, thou shalt not desire, and so forth: if there be any other commandment, they are all comprehended in this saying, "Love thine neighbor as thyself."

⁵ For the end of the commandment is love that cometh of a pure heart and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

⁸ If ye fulfil the royal law — according to the scripture which saith, "Thou shalt love thine neighbour as thyself" — ye do well.

⁷ Dearly beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God. And all that love are born of God, and knoweth God. ⁸ And he that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. ⁹ Herein appeared the love of God to us ward, because that God sent his only begotten son into the world, that we should live through him. ¹⁰ Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his son to make a satisfaction for our sins. ¹¹ Dearly beloved, if God so loved us, then we ought also to love one another.

¹⁹ We love him, because he loved us first. ²⁰ If a man say, "I love God," and yet hate his brother, he is a liar. For how can he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, love God whom he hath not seen? ²¹ And this commandment have we of him: that he which loveth God, should love his brother also.
