²¹ The brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son: and the children shall arise against their fathers, and mothers, and shall put them to death,

¹¹ And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, "Behold, my son which came out of mine own bowels seeketh my life. How much more may this son of Benjamin do it? Suffer him therefore to curse, for the LORD hath bidden him.

And I will up and follow after David by night. ² And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will fear him, that all the people that are with him shall flee. ⁵ Let no man believe his friend, nor put his confidence in a prince. Keep the door of thy mouth, from her that lieth in thy bosom: ⁶ for the son shall put his father to dishonour, the daughter shall rise against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: and a man's foes shall be even they of his own household.

³ so that if any of them prophesy any more, his own father and mother that begat him, shall say unto him, 'Thou shalt die, for thou speakest lies under the name of the LORD.' Yea, his own father and mother that begat him, shall wound him, when he prophesieth.

³⁴ Think not, that I am come to send peace into the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. ³⁵ For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: ³⁶ And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

¹⁰ And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one the other.

¹² Yea, and the brother shall deliver the brother to death. And the father the son, and the children shall rise against their fathers and mothers, and shall put them to death. ¹³ And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. But whosoever shall endure unto the end, the same shall be safe.

⁵¹ "Suppose ye that I am come to send peace on earth? I tell you, nay: but rather debate. ⁵² For henceforth there shall be five in one house divided: three against two, and two against three. ⁵³ The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father. The mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother. The mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law."

¹⁶ Yea, and ye shall be betrayed of your fathers and mothers, and of your brethren, and kinsmen, and lovers. And some of you shall they put to death. ¹⁷ And hated shall ye be of all men for my name's sake.
