¹⁸ It will come to pass, that whoso escapeth the terrible cry, shall fall in to the pit. And if he come out of the pit, he shall be taken with the snare. For the windows above shall be opened, and the foundations of the earth shall move.

¹⁰ And the LORD turmoiled them before Israel and slew of them a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron and slew them till they came to Azekah and Makkedah. ¹¹ And as they fled from Israel, even in the going down to Bethhoron, the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them, until they came unto Azekah, that they died. ⁸ For his feet shall be taken in the net, and he is at his wits end. ⁹ His foot shall be holden in the gilder, and the thirsty shall catch him. ¹⁰ The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a pitfall in the way. ¹¹ "Fearfulness shall make him afraid on every side, that he shall not know where to get out. ¹² Hunger shall be his substance, and misfortune shall hang upon him. ¹³ He shall eat the strength of his own skin; the firstborn of death shall eat his members. ¹⁴ All his comfort and hope shall be rooted out of his dwelling, and shall bring him unto the king of fear. ¹⁵ Other men shall dwell in his house - which now is none of his - and brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation. ¹⁶ His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his harvest be cut down.

²⁴ so that if he flee the iron weapons, he shall be shot with the steel bow.

⁷ The earth trembled and quaked; the very foundations also of the hills shook and were removed, because he was wroth. {TYNDALE: And the earth trembled and quoke, and the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was angry.}

¹⁵ The springs of waters were seen, and the foundations of the round world were discovered at thy chiding, O LORD, at the blasting of the breath of thy displeasures. {TYNDALE: And the bottom of the sea appeared, and the foundations of the world were seen, by the reason of the rebuking of the LORD, and through the blasting of the breath of his nostrils.}

² Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be moved, and though the hills be carried into the midst of the sea; ³ Though the waters thereof rage and swell, and though the mountains shake at the tempest of the same. Selah.
