And inasmuch as I killed thee not too, when I cut off the tip of thy coat; understand and see that there is neither evil nor rebelliousness in me, and that I have not sinned against thee. Wherefore the LORD reward thee with good, for that thou hast done unto me this day. ²⁰ And now I know well that thou shalt be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in thine hand. ²¹ Swear therefore unto me by the LORD, that thou shalt not destroy my seed after me, and that thou shalt not destroy my name out of my father's house." ²² And David sware unto Saul, and Saul went home. But David and his men gat up unto a hold.

⁵ Then said Sarai unto Abram, "Thou dost me unright, for I have given my maid into thy bosom: and now because she seeth that she hath conceived, I am despised in her sight: the LORD judge between thee and me."

³ And Abram fell on his face. And God talked moreover with him, saying,

²³ Now therefore swear unto me even here by God, that thou wilt not hurt me nor my children, nor my children's children. But that thou shalt deal with me and the country where thou art a stranger, according unto the kindness that I have showed thee."

Come again, my son David, for I will do thee no more harm; because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day. Behold, I have played the fool and have erred exceeding much."

²³ The LORD reward every man's righteousness and faith: for the LORD delivered thee into my hand this day, but I would not lay my hand upon the LORD's anointed.

²⁵ And Saul said to David, "Blessed art thou, my son David: for thou shalt be a doer and prevail." And so David went his way, and Saul turned to his place again.

²⁸ A froward body causeth strife; and he that is a babble of his tongue, maketh division among princes.

⁴ saying, "I have sinned, betraying the innocent blood." And they said, "What is that to us? see thou to that."

¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, where against all your adversaries shall not be able to speak nor resist.

²⁴ but Jesus put not himself in their hands, because he knew all men,

²⁵ Even that the saying might be fulfilled that is written in their law, 'They hated me without a cause.'

⁶ and the tongue is fire, and a world of wickedness. So is the tongue set among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth afire all that we have of nature, and is itself set afire, even of hell.

¹⁷ See that ye honour all men. Love brotherly fellowship, fear God, and honour the King.

²³ which when he was reviled, reviled not again: when he suffered, he threatened not: but committed the cause to him that judgeth righteously,

¹⁰ and they cried with a loud voice saying, "How long tarriest thou Lord holy and true, to judge and to avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?"
