⁸ But You, O LORD, are exalted forever!

¹¹ Now I know that the LORD is greater than all other gods, for He did this when they treated Israel with arrogance.”

² My enemies pursue me all day long, for many proudly assail me.

¹⁸ May they know that You alone, whose name is the LORD, are Most High over all the earth.

⁴ Above the roar of many waters—the mighty breakers of the sea—the LORD on high is majestic.

²⁶ They will perish, but You remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing You will change them, and they will be passed on. ²⁷ But You remain the same, and Your years will never end.

⁸ If you see the oppression of the poor and the denial of justice and righteousness in the province, do not be astonished at the matter; for one official is watched by a superior, and others higher still are over them.

³⁴ But at the end of those days I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven, and my sanity was restored to me. Then I praised the Most High, and I honored and glorified Him who lives forever: “For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation. ³⁵ All the peoples of the earth are counted as nothing, and He does as He pleases with the army of heaven and the peoples of the earth. There is no one who can restrain His hand or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’”

¹ About that time, King Herod reached out to harm some who belonged to the church.

²² And they began to shout, “This is the voice of a god, not a man!” ²³ Immediately, because Herod did not give glory to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died. ²⁴ But the word of God continued to spread and multiply.
