¹⁴ But You have regarded trouble and grief; You see to repay it by Your hand. The victim entrusts himself to You; You are the helper of the fatherless.

⁶ I call on You, O God, for You will answer me. Incline Your ear to me; hear my words.

² Incline Your ear to me; come quickly to my rescue. Be my rock of refuge, the stronghold of my deliverance.

⁶ This poor man called out, and the LORD heard him; He saved him from all his troubles.

¹⁷ But I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my helper and deliverer; O my God, do not delay.

¹² For he will deliver the needy who cry out and the afflicted who have no helper. ¹³ He will take pity on the poor and needy and save the lives of the oppressed. ¹⁴ He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their blood is precious in his sight.

¹ A prayer of one who is afflicted, when he grows faint and pours out his lament before the LORD. Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry for help come before You.

¹⁷ He will turn toward the prayer of the destitute; He will not despise their prayer.

²² Remove my scorn and contempt, for I have kept Your testimonies.

¹² I know that the LORD upholds justice for the poor and defends the cause of the needy.

² Has not My hand made all these things? And so they came into being,” declares the LORD. “This is the one I will esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, who trembles at My word.

¹⁸ Incline Your ear, O my God, and hear; open Your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears Your name. For we are not presenting our petitions before You because of our righteous acts, but because of Your great compassion.

³ “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

¹⁸ “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed,

⁹ The brother in humble circumstances should exult in his high position. ¹⁰ But the one who is rich should exult in his low position, because he will pass away like a flower of the field.

⁵ Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom He promised those who love Him?

⁷ The LORD did not set His affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than the other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. ⁸ But because the LORD loved you and kept the oath He swore to your fathers, He brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

⁹ He guards the steps of His faithful ones, but the wicked perish in darkness; for by his own strength shall no man prevail.

³ Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for Himself; the LORD hears when I call to Him.

⁵ But I have trusted in Your loving devotion; my heart will rejoice in Your salvation.

² in You, my God, I trust. Do not let me be put to shame; do not let my enemies exult over me.

¹⁴ But I trust in You, O LORD; I say, “You are my God.”

²⁸ For the LORD loves justice and will not forsake His saints. They are preserved forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off.

⁵ “Gather to Me My saints, who made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”

⁹⁴ I am Yours; save me, for I have sought Your precepts.

¹²⁴ Deal with Your servant according to Your loving devotion, and teach me Your statutes. ¹²⁵ I am Your servant; give me understanding, that I may know Your testimonies.

¹² And in Your loving devotion, cut off my enemies. Destroy all who afflict me, for I am Your servant.

³ You will keep in perfect peace the steadfast of mind, because he trusts in You. ⁴ Trust in the LORD forever, because GOD the LORD is the Rock eternal.

²⁷ My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. ²⁸ I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand. ²⁹ My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

²⁶ If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, My servant will be as well. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

¹¹ I will no longer be in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect them by Your name, the name You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one.

¹⁸ Therefore God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden.

²³ What if He did this to make the riches of His glory known to the vessels of His mercy, whom He prepared in advance for glory— ²⁴ including us, whom He has called not only from the Jews, but also from the Gentiles?

¹² And once more, Isaiah says: “The Root of Jesse will appear, One who will arise to rule over the Gentiles; in Him the Gentiles will put their hope.” ¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹² in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, would be for the praise of His glory. ¹³ And in Him, having heard and believed the word of truth—the gospel of your salvation—you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

³ not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. ⁴ And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away. ⁵ Young men, in the same way, submit yourselves to your elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility, being subject to one another, because, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

⁵ Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; all day long I wait for You.

⁹ My eyes grow dim with grief. I call to You daily, O LORD; I spread out my hands to You.

³⁷ and then was a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.

⁸ I tell you, even though he will not get up to provide for him because of his friendship, yet because of the man’s persistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs. ⁹ So I tell you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. ¹⁰ For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. ¹¹ What father among you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? ¹² Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? ¹³ So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

⁷ Will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He continue to defer their help?

¹⁸ Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.

¹ Of David. To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul;

¹² Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and sustain me with a willing spirit.

⁸ Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge. Selah

⁸ Let me hear Your loving devotion in the morning, for I have put my trust in You. Teach me the way I should walk, for to You I lift up my soul.

³ to console the mourners in Zion—to give them a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and a garment of praise for a spirit of despair. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.

¹⁸ But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; for I will create Jerusalem to be a joy and its people to be a delight.

¹³ As a mother comforts her son, so will I comfort you, and you will be consoled over Jerusalem.” ¹⁴ When you see, you will rejoice, and you will flourish like grass; then the hand of the LORD will be revealed to His servants, but His wrath will be shown to His enemies.

⁶ Then the LORD passed in front of Moses and called out: “The LORD, the LORD God, is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness,

¹⁷ They refused to listen and failed to remember the wonders You performed among them. They stiffened their necks and appointed a leader to return them to their bondage in Egypt. But You are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in loving devotion, and You did not forsake them.

⁸ Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He shows sinners the way.

⁷ How precious is Your loving devotion, O God, that the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings!

¹ For the choirmaster. A Maskil of David. After Doeg the Edomite went to Saul and told him, “David has gone to the house of Ahimelech.” Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man? The loving devotion of God endures all day long.

¹⁶ Answer me, O LORD, for Your loving devotion is good; turn to me in keeping with Your great compassion.

¹⁵ But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness.

⁸ The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion.

⁶⁸ You are good, and You do what is good; teach me Your statutes.

⁴ But with You there is forgiveness, so that You may be feared.

⁷ O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is loving devotion, and with Him is redemption in abundance.

⁷ Let the wicked man forsake his own way and the unrighteous man his own thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that He may have compassion, and to our God, for He will freely pardon.

³ Call to Me, and I will answer and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know.

³³ This is what the Lord GOD says: On the day I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be resettled and the ruins to be rebuilt.

³⁷ This is what the Lord GOD says: Once again I will hear the plea of the house of Israel and do for them this: I will multiply their people like a flock.

⁹ To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, even though we have rebelled against Him

¹³ So rend your hearts and not your garments, and return to the LORD your God. For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion. And He relents from sending disaster.

² So he prayed to the LORD, saying, “O LORD, is this not what I said while I was still in my own country? This is why I was so quick to flee toward Tarshish. I knew that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion—One who relents from sending disaster.

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance—who does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in loving devotion?

⁹ So I tell you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. ¹⁰ For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

¹⁰ Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God and who is asking you for a drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

²¹ And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

²⁰ The law came in so that the trespass would increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more, ²¹ so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁸ Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. ⁹ This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him.

⁶ In my distress I called upon the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry for His help reached His ears.

⁴ I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears. ⁵ Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces shall never be ashamed. ⁶ This poor man called out, and the LORD heard him; He saved him from all his troubles.

¹⁵ Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me.”

¹⁶ But I call to God, and the LORD saves me. ¹⁷ Morning, noon, and night, I cry out in distress, and He hears my voice. ¹⁸ He redeems my soul in peace from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me.

¹⁵ When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him.

³ Although my spirit grows faint within me, You know my way. Along the path I travel they have hidden a snare for me.

¹⁶ O LORD, they sought You in their distress; when You disciplined them, they poured out a quiet prayer.

⁵⁵ I called on Your name, O LORD, out of the depths of the Pit. ⁵⁶ You heard my plea: “Do not ignore my cry for relief.” ⁵⁷ You drew near when I called on You; You said, “Do not be afraid.”

² saying: “In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered me. From the belly of Sheol I called for help, and You heard my voice.

⁴⁴ And in His anguish, He prayed more earnestly, and His sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.

⁷ During the days of Jesus’ earthly life, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.

¹¹ Who among the gods is like You, O LORD? Who is like You—majestic in holiness, revered with praises, performing wonders?

²⁴ “O Lord GOD, You have begun to show Your greatness and power to Your servant. For what god in heaven or on earth can perform such works and mighty acts as Yours?

³⁴ Or has any god tried to take as his own a nation out of another nation—by trials, signs, wonders, and war, by a strong hand and an outstretched arm, and by great terrors—as the LORD your God did for you in Egypt, before your eyes?

⁶ For who in the skies can compare with the LORD? Who among the heavenly beings is like the LORD?

⁸ O LORD God of Hosts, who is like You? O mighty LORD, Your faithfulness surrounds You.

⁴ He alone does great wonders. His loving devotion endures forever.

¹⁸ To whom will you liken God? To what image will you compare Him?

²⁵ “To whom will you liken Me, or who is My equal?” asks the Holy One.

⁶ There is none like You, O LORD. You are great, and Your name is mighty in power. ⁷ Who would not fear You, O King of nations? This is Your due. For among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like You.

¹⁶ The Portion of Jacob is not like these, for He is the Maker of all things, and Israel is the tribe of His inheritance—the LORD of Hosts is His name.

²⁹ Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything offensive against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego will be cut into pieces and their houses reduced to rubble. For there is no other god who can deliver in this way.”

²⁷ All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD. All the families of the nations will bow down before Him. ²⁸ For dominion belongs to the LORD and He rules over the nations. ²⁹ All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before Him—even those unable to preserve their lives. ³⁰ Posterity will serve Him; they will declare the Lord to a new generation. ³¹ They will come and proclaim His righteousness to a people yet unborn—all that He has done.

⁴ All the earth bows down to You; they sing praise to You; they sing praise to Your name.” Selah

⁷ God blesses us, that all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

⁸ May he rule from sea to sea, and from the Euphrates to the ends of the earth.

¹⁹ And blessed be His glorious name forever; may all the earth be filled with His glory. Amen and amen.

¹⁵ So the nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth will fear Your glory.

¹⁸ Let this be written for the generation to come, so that a people not yet created may praise the LORD.

² In the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. ³ And many peoples will come and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. ⁴ Then He will judge between the nations and arbitrate for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer take up the sword against nation, nor train anymore for war.

⁹ They will neither harm nor destroy on all My holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the sea is full of water.

⁷ everyone called by My name and created for My glory, whom I have indeed formed and made.”

¹⁹ So shall they fear the name of the LORD where the sun sets, and His glory where it rises. For He will come like a raging flood, driven by the breath of the LORD.

²³ From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come to worship before Me,” says the LORD.

⁹ On that day the LORD will become King over all the earth—the LORD alone, and His name alone.

²⁵ I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you will not be conceited: A hardening in part has come to Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.

⁹ so that the Gentiles may glorify God for His mercy. As it is written: “Therefore I will praise You among the Gentiles; I will sing hymns to Your name.”

¹² in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, would be for the praise of His glory.

⁹ But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and loud voices called out in heaven: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever.”

⁴ Who will not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed.”

³ And he threw him into the Abyss, shut it, and sealed it over him, so that he could not deceive the nations until the thousand years were complete. And after that, he must be released for a brief period of time.

³ Hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe them, so that you may prosper and multiply greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you. ⁴ Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One.

³⁹ See now that I am He; there is no God besides Me. I bring death and I give life; I wound and I heal, and there is no one who can deliver from My hand.

⁷ Can you fathom the deep things of God or discover the limits of the Almighty?

¹⁸ Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.

¹³ Your way, O God, is holy. What god is so great as our God? ¹⁴ You are the God who works wonders; You display Your strength among the peoples. ¹⁵ With power You redeemed Your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah

⁸ O Lord, there is none like You among the gods, nor any works like Yours.

³ Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised; His greatness is unsearchable. ⁴ One generation will commend Your works to the next, and will proclaim Your mighty acts— ⁵ the glorious splendor of Your majesty. And I will meditate on Your wondrous works.

¹⁶ “O LORD of Hosts, God of Israel, enthroned above the cherubim, You alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.

²⁰ And now, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, O LORD, are God.”

⁶ Thus says the LORD, the King and Redeemer of Israel, the LORD of Hosts: “I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God but Me. ⁷ Who then is like Me? Let him say so! Let him declare his case before Me, since I established an ancient people. Let him foretell the things to come, and what is to take place. ⁸ Do not tremble or fear. Have I not told you and declared it long ago? You are My witnesses! Is there any God but Me? There is no other Rock; I know not one.”

²⁶ I hereby decree that in every part of my kingdom, men are to tremble in fear before the God of Daniel: For He is the living God, and He endures forever; His kingdom will never be destroyed, and His dominion will never end. ²⁷ He delivers and rescues; He performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth, for He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”

²⁹ Jesus replied, “This is the most important of all the commandments: ‘Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.

¹⁹ I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. ²⁰ The sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and glorious Day of the Lord. ²¹ And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ ²² Men of Israel, listen to this message: Jesus of Nazareth was a man certified by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did among you through Him, as you yourselves know.

³⁰ as You stretch out Your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”

¹⁸ I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obedience by word and deed, ¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders, and by the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.

⁴ So about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world, and that there is no other God but one.

⁶ one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in us all.

⁴ and was affirmed by God through signs, wonders, various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.

³² Teach me what I cannot see; if I have done wrong, I will not do it again.’

⁸ Lead me, O LORD, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; make straight Your way before me.

⁴ Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths. ⁵ Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; all day long I wait for You.

¹² Who is the man who fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the path chosen for him.

³ For Your loving devotion is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth.

³⁰ I have chosen the way of truth; I have set Your ordinances before me.

³³ Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, and I will keep them to the end.

Teach me the way I should walk, for to You I lift up my soul. ⁹ Deliver me from my enemies, O LORD; I flee to You for refuge. ¹⁰ Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God. May Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

³⁸ They will be My people, and I will be their God. ³⁹ I will give them one heart and one way, so that they will always fear Me for their own good and for the good of their children after them.

² Their hearts are devious; now they must bear their guilt. The LORD will break down their altars and demolish their sacred pillars.

⁸ O Ephraim, what have I to do anymore with idols? It is I who answer and watch over him. I am like a flourishing cypress; your fruit comes from Me.

⁵ those who bow on the rooftops to worship the host of heaven, those who bow down and swear by the LORD but also swear by Milcom,

⁶ True instruction was in his mouth, and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity.

²² The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. ²³ But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! ²⁴ No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

⁴⁵ It is written in the Prophets: ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me— ⁴⁶ not that anyone has seen the Father except the One who is from God; only He has seen the Father.

²⁰ I am not asking on behalf of them alone, but also on behalf of those who will believe in Me through their message, ²¹ that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

⁴⁶ With one accord they continued to meet daily in the temple courts and to break bread from house to house, sharing their meals with gladness and sincerity of heart,

¹⁷ But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with Him in spirit.

²¹ You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot partake in the table of the Lord and the table of demons too.

³ I am afraid, however, that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may be led astray from the simplicity that is in Christ.

²¹ Surely you heard of Him and were taught in Him—in keeping with the truth that is in Jesus—

¹⁷ And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

²² Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything, not only to please them while they are watching, but with sincerity of heart and fear of God. ²³ And whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men,

⁴ I was overjoyed to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father has commanded us.

³ For I was overjoyed when the brothers came and testified about your devotion to the truth, in which you continue to walk. ⁴ I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in truth.

⁵ And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

¹³ Now therefore, our God, we give You thanks, and we praise Your glorious name.

²⁰ Then David said to the whole assembly, “Blessed be the LORD your God.” So the whole assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers. They bowed down and paid homage to the LORD and to the king.

⁵ Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; ⁶ in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

¹ In that day you will say: “O LORD, I will praise You. Although You were angry with me, Your anger has turned away, and You have comforted me.

³⁶ As they traveled along the road and came to some water, the eunuch said, “Look, here is water! What is there to prevent me from being baptized?”

⁶ so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁰ you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body and with your spirit, which belong to God.

³¹ So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.

¹⁹ Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord,

⁹ And they sang a new song: “Worthy are You to take the scroll and open its seals, because You were slain, and by Your blood You purchased us for God from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. ¹⁰ You have made them to be kings and priests to serve our God, and they will reign upon the earth.” ¹¹ Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels and living creatures and elders encircling the throne, and their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands. ¹² In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” ¹³ And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever. Amen!”

⁵ Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you who serve Him, and those who fear Him, small and great alike!” ⁶ And I heard a sound like the roar of a great multitude, like the rushing of many waters, and like a mighty rumbling of thunder, crying out: “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.

¹⁸ to preserve his soul from the Pit and his life from perishing by the sword.

²² He draws near to the Pit, and his life to the messengers of death.

²⁴ to be gracious to him and say, ‘Spare him from going down to the Pit; I have found his ransom,’

²⁸ He redeemed my soul from going down to the Pit, and I will live to see the light.’

¹⁰ For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay.

³ O LORD, You pulled me up from Sheol; You spared me from descending into the Pit.

¹³ For You have delivered my soul from death, and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.

¹⁰ For Your loving devotion reaches to the heavens, and Your faithfulness to the clouds.

⁶ You have laid me in the lowest Pit, in the darkest of the depths.

⁸ The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion. ⁹ He will not always accuse us, nor harbor His anger forever. ¹⁰ He has not dealt with us according to our sins or repaid us according to our iniquities. ¹¹ For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His loving devotion for those who fear Him. ¹² As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

⁴ For Your loving devotion extends beyond the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

⁸ For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.

¹⁷ Surely for my own welfare I had such great anguish; but Your love has delivered me from the pit of oblivion, for You have cast all my sins behind Your back.

³ For You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the current swirled about me; all Your breakers and waves swept over me. ⁴ At this, I said, ‘I have been banished from Your sight; yet I will look once more toward Your holy temple.’ ⁵ The waters engulfed me to take my life; the watery depths closed around me; the seaweed wrapped around my head. ⁶ To the roots of the mountains I descended; the earth beneath me barred me in forever! But You raised my life from the pit, O LORD my God!

⁵⁸ Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they rejoiced with her.

¹⁰ and to await His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead—Jesus our deliverer from the coming wrath.

¹ Some time later, Absalom provided for himself a chariot with horses and fifty men to run ahead of him. ² He would get up early and stand beside the road leading to the city gate. Whenever anyone had a grievance to bring before the king for a decision, Absalom would call out and ask, “What city are you from?” And if he replied, “Your servant is from one of the tribes of Israel,” ³ Absalom would say, “Look, your claims are good and right, but the king has no deputy to hear you.” ⁴ And he would add, “If only someone would appoint me judge in the land, then everyone with a grievance or dispute could come to me, and I would give him justice.” ⁵ Also, when anyone approached to bow down to him, Absalom would reach out his hand, take hold of him, and kiss him. ⁶ Absalom did this to all the Israelites who came to the king for justice. In this way he stole the hearts of the men of Israel. ⁷ After four years had passed, Absalom said to the king, “Please let me go to Hebron to fulfill a vow I have made to the LORD. ⁸ For your servant made a vow while dwelling in Geshur of Aram, saying: ‘If indeed the LORD brings me back to Jerusalem, I will worship the LORD in Hebron.’” ⁹ “Go in peace,” said the king. So Absalom got up and went to Hebron. ¹⁰ Then Absalom sent spies throughout the tribes of Israel with this message: “When you hear the sound of the horn, you are to say, ‘Absalom reigns in Hebron!’” ¹¹ Two hundred men from Jerusalem accompanied Absalom. They had been invited as guests and they went along innocently, for they knew nothing about the matter. ¹² While Absalom was offering the sacrifices, he sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, to come from his hometown of Giloh. So the conspiracy gained strength, and Absalom’s following kept increasing.

²⁰ Then Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Give me counsel. What should we do?”

¹⁴ Then Absalom and all the men of Israel said, “The advice of Hushai the Archite is better than that of Ahithophel.” For the LORD had purposed to thwart the good counsel of Ahithophel in order to bring disaster on Absalom.

⁴ In his pride the wicked man does not seek Him; in all his schemes there is no God.

¹¹ He says to himself, “God has forgotten; He hides His face and never sees.”

¹³ Why has the wicked man renounced God? He says to himself, “You will never call me to account.”

⁴ Will the workers of iniquity never learn? They devour my people like bread; they refuse to call upon the LORD.

¹ For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD. An oracle is in my heart regarding the transgression of the wicked man: There is no fear of God before his eyes.

¹¹ Let not the foot of the proud come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

³ For strangers rise up against me, and ruthless men seek my life—men with no regard for God. Selah

⁵¹ The arrogant utterly deride me, but I do not turn from Your law.

⁶⁹ Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies, I keep Your precepts with all my heart.

⁸⁵ The arrogant have dug pits for me in violation of Your law.

⁵ The proud hide a snare for me; the cords of their net are spread along the path, and lures are set out for me. Selah

¹² “Son of man,” He said to me, “do you see what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? For they are saying, ‘The LORD does not see us; the LORD has forsaken the land.’”

⁹ He replied, “The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great. The land is full of bloodshed, and the city is full of perversity. For they say, ‘The LORD has forsaken the land; the LORD does not see.’

³ At that time the chief priests, scribes, and elders of the people assembled in the courtyard of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas, ⁴ and they conspired to arrest Jesus covertly and kill Him.

¹ When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people conspired against Jesus to put Him to death. ² They bound Him, led Him away, and handed Him over to Pontius Pilate the governor.

²⁷ In fact, Herod and Pontius Pilate conspired with the Gentiles and the people of Israel against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed. ²⁸ They carried out what Your hand and will had decided beforehand would happen.

⁶ Moreover, I have selected Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, as his assistant. I have also given skill to all the craftsmen, that they may fashion all that I have commanded you: ⁷ the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the Testimony and the mercy seat upon it, and all the other furnishings of the tent—

¹⁸ ‘The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in loving devotion, forgiving iniquity and transgression. Yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished; He will visit the iniquity of the fathers upon their children to the third and fourth generation.’

¹⁰ Loving devotion and faithfulness have joined together; righteousness and peace have kissed.

⁵ For You, O Lord, are kind and forgiving, rich in loving devotion to all who call on You.

³ He has remembered His love and faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

⁴ He has caused His wonders to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and compassionate.

⁸ The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in loving devotion.

¹⁷ For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

⁸ Now I tell you that Christ Jesus has become a servant of the circumcised on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs, ⁹ so that the Gentiles may glorify God for His mercy. As it is written: “Therefore I will praise You among the Gentiles; I will sing hymns to Your name.”

⁷ In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

⁴ But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, ⁵ made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved! ⁶ And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, ⁷ in order that in the coming ages He might display the surpassing riches of His grace, demonstrated by His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

¹⁶ Turn to me and be gracious, for I am lonely and afflicted.

⁷ The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart rejoices, and I give thanks to Him with my song. ⁸ The LORD is the strength of His people, a stronghold of salvation for His anointed.

⁵ Blessed are those whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.

¹³ Return, O LORD! How long will it be? Have compassion on Your servants.

¹⁶ Truly, O LORD, I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant; You have broken my bonds.

¹³² Turn to me and show me mercy, as You do to those who love Your name.

³ On the day I called, You answered me; You emboldened me and strengthened my soul.

²⁹ He gives power to the faint and increases the strength of the weak. ³⁰ Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall. ³¹ But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.

²⁴ Surely they will say of Me, ‘In the LORD alone are righteousness and strength.’” All who rage against Him will come to Him and be put to shame.

¹² I will strengthen them in the LORD, and in His name they will walk,” declares the LORD.

³⁸ “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it happen to me according to your word.” Then the angel left her.

¹⁶ I ask that out of the riches of His glory He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being,

¹⁰ Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

¹¹ being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have full endurance and patience, and joyfully

¹⁷ Gideon answered, “If I have found favor in Your sight, give me a sign that it is You speaking with me.

¹ For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry.

¹⁰ But You, O LORD, be gracious to me and raise me up, that I may repay them. ¹¹ By this I know that You delight in me, for my enemy does not triumph over me.

⁹ Do not discard me in my old age; do not forsake me when my strength fails. ¹⁰ For my enemies speak against me, and those who lie in wait for my life conspire, ¹¹ saying, “God has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him, for there is no one to rescue him.” ¹² Be not far from me, O God. Hurry, O my God, to help me. ¹³ May the accusers of my soul be ashamed and consumed; may those who seek my harm be covered with scorn and disgrace.

²⁰ Though You have shown me many troubles and misfortunes, You will revive me once again. Even from the depths of the earth You will bring me back up. ²¹ You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.

⁹ There are no signs for us to see. There is no longer any prophet. And none of us knows how long this will last.

²⁹ May my accusers be clothed with disgrace; may they wear their shame like a robe.

²² And Hezekiah had asked, “What will be the sign that I will go up to the house of the LORD?”

⁸ Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will arise; though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light. ⁹ Because I have sinned against Him, I must endure the rage of the LORD, until He argues my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me into the light; I will see His righteousness. ¹⁰ Then my enemy will see and will be covered with shame—she who said to me, “Where is the LORD your God?” My eyes will see her; at that time she will be trampled like mud in the streets.

⁵ hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the Day of the Lord Jesus.
