² The good man obtains favor from the LORD, but the LORD condemns a man who devises evil.

¹⁵ The nations have fallen into a pit of their making; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.

⁵ It is well with the man who is generous and lends freely, whose affairs are guided by justice.

³¹ So they will eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

¹⁸ a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that run swiftly to evil,

³⁵ For whoever finds me finds life and obtains the favor of the LORD.

⁸ As no man has power over the wind to contain it, so no one has authority over his day of death. As no one can be discharged in wartime, so wickedness will not release those who practice it.

⁵ No longer will a fool be called noble, nor a scoundrel be respected. ⁶ For a fool speaks foolishness; his mind plots iniquity. He practices ungodliness and speaks falsely about the LORD; he leaves the hungry empty and deprives the thirsty of drink. ⁷ The weapons of the scoundrel are destructive; he hatches plots to destroy the poor with lies, even when the plea of the needy is just.

²⁴ Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.

⁷ Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
