¹⁶ So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts its mouth.

⁷ But among all the Israelites, not even a dog will snarl at man or beast.’ Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.

⁸ He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap. He seats them among princes and bestows on them a throne of honor. For the foundations of the earth are the LORD’s, and upon them He has set the world. ⁹ He guards the steps of His faithful ones, but the wicked perish in darkness; for by his own strength shall no man prevail.

¹⁸ For the needy will not always be forgotten; nor the hope of the oppressed forever dashed.

¹¹ But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by Him will exult, for the mouths of liars will be shut.

⁴² The upright see and rejoice, and all iniquity shuts its mouth.

³² What answer will be given to the envoys of that nation? “The LORD has founded Zion, where His afflicted people will find refuge.”

¹² Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; even today I declare that I will restore to you double.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
