⁴ But you even undermine the fear of God and hinder meditation before Him.

¹³ So Saul died for his unfaithfulness to the LORD, because he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance, ¹⁴ and he failed to inquire of the LORD. So the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.

⁵ But now trouble has come upon you, and you are weary. It strikes you, and you are dismayed. ⁶ Is your reverence not your confidence, and the uprightness of your ways your hope?

⁸ However, if I were you, I would appeal to God and lay my cause before Him—

¹⁴ A despairing man should have the kindness of his friend, even if he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.

¹⁰ Will he delight in the Almighty? Will he call upon God at all times?

¹ For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD. An oracle is in my heart regarding the transgression of the wicked man: There is no fear of God before his eyes. ² For his eyes are too full of conceit to detect or hate his own sin. ³ The words of his mouth are wicked and deceitful; he has ceased to be wise and well-doing.

¹²⁶ It is time for the LORD to act, for they have broken Your law.

¹⁴ They do not cry out to Me from their hearts when they wail upon their beds. They slash themselves for grain and new wine, but turn away from Me.

¹⁰ And when the relative who is to burn the bodies picks them up to remove them from the house, he will call to one inside, “Is anyone else with you?” “None,” that person will answer. “Silence,” the relative will retort, “for the name of the LORD must not be invoked.”

⁶ and those who turn back from following the LORD, neither seeking the LORD nor inquiring of Him.”

¹ Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray at all times and not lose heart:

³¹ Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Certainly not! Instead, we uphold the law.

²¹ I do not set aside the grace of God. For if righteousness comes through the law, Christ died for nothing.
