⁶ that You should seek my iniquity and search out my sin—

¹⁴ If I sinned, You would take note, and would not acquit me of my iniquity. ¹⁵ If I am guilty, woe to me! And even if I am righteous, I cannot lift my head. I am full of shame and aware of my affliction. ¹⁶ Should I hold my head high, You would hunt me like a lion, and again display Your power against me. ¹⁷ You produce new witnesses against me and multiply Your anger toward me. Hardships assault me in wave after wave.

¹⁶ For then You would count my steps, but would not keep track of my sin.

¹⁵ Break the arm of the wicked and evildoer; call him to account for his wickedness until none is left to be found.

²¹ would not God have discovered, since He knows the secrets of the heart?

³⁴ Moreover, your skirts are stained with the blood of the innocent poor, though you did not find them breaking in. But in spite of all these things

¹² And at that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps and punish the men settled in complacency, who say to themselves, ‘The LORD will do nothing, either good or bad.’

²⁴ But Jesus did not entrust Himself to them, for He knew them all. ²⁵ He did not need any testimony about man, for He knew what was in a man.

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.
