²¹ After this Jesus the Christ began to show his disciples how he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things at the hands of the elders and chief priests and Scribes, and be put to death, and on the third day be raised again.

²² As they continued going from place to place in Galilee, Jesus said to them. "The Son of man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men; ²³ "and they will kill him, but on the third day he will rise again." And they were greatly grieved.

¹⁸ "Look! We are on the way up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, ¹⁹ "and hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and scourged and crucified; and on the third day he will rise from the grave."

⁶³ "We recollect, Sir, that when he was living this imposter said, 'I will rise again after three days.'

³¹ and he began to explain to them that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests, and the Scribes, and be put to death, and after two days rise again.

⁹ As they came down the mountain he strictly forbade them to narrate to any one what they had seen, until after the Son of man had risen from the dead. ¹⁰ This order they faithfully kept, questioning among themselves what "rising again from the dead" meant.

³⁰ Jesus and his disciples, after leaving that place, passed through Galilee; but he was unwilling that any one should know it, ³¹ for he was explaining to his disciples that the Son of man was to be betrayed into the hands of men, and that they would put him to death, but that after he had been put to death, he would rise again after three days, ³² But they did not understand his words, and were afraid to ask him the meaning.

³³ "See," said he, "we are going up to Jerusalem and the Son of man will be betrayed to the high priests and the Scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will hand him over to the Gentiles, ³⁴ who will mock him, spit upon him, flog him, and put him to death; and after three days he will rise again."

²² and he said, "The Son of man must suffer much, and be restricted by the elders and high priests and scribes and be put to death, and on the third day be raised again."

⁴⁴ "Let these words sink into your ears; for the son of man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men."
