²⁶ Now likewise, the Spirit is also jointly helping our weaknesses; for we do not know what we are praying for, that is according to what is essential for us; but the Spirit himself is petitioning on our behalf with unspeakable groans;

³ My soul also is greatly troubled. And you, O Jehovah, how long?

⁹ Jehovah has heard my supplication. Jehovah will receive my prayer.

¹⁷ Jehovah, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart, you will cause your ear to hear,

¹ As the male-deer pants after the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, O God. ² My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? ³ My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, Where is your God?
⁴ These things I remember and pour out my soul within me, because I went with the crowd and led them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping holy day.
⁵ Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you in an uproar within me? Hope in God, because I will yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

¹ Listen to my prayer, O God and do not hide yourself from my supplication. ² Attend to me and answer me. I am restless in my complaint and moan,

³ I am weary with my crying. My throat is dried. My eyes fail while I wait for my God.

¹ I will cry to God with my voice, even to God with my voice and he will listen to me.
² I sought the Lord in the day of my trouble. My hand was stretched out in the night and did not slack. My soul refused to be comforted. ³ I remember God and I am in an uproar. I complain and my spirit is overwhelmed. Selah.

¹ O Jehovah, the God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before you. ² Let my prayer enter into your presence. Incline your ear to my cry.
³ Because my soul is full of troubles and my life draws near to Sheol.

⁵ Because of the voice of my groaning my bones cling to my flesh.

²⁰ to hear the sighing of the prisoner, to loose those who are appointed to death,

⁸¹ My soul faints for your salvation. I hope in your word. ⁸² My eyes fail for your word, while I say, When will you comfort me?

⁴ Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me. My heart within me is desolate.
⁵ I remember the days of long-ago. I meditate on all your practices. I meditate on the work of your hands. ⁶ I spread forth my hands to you. My soul is as a weary land for you. Selah.
⁷ Make haste to answer me, O Jehovah, my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me, lest I become like those who go down into the pit.

¹⁰ And I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication. And they will look to me whom they have pierced. And they will mourn for him, as a man mourns for his only son and will be in bitterness for him, as a man who is in bitterness for his firstborn.

²⁰ For it is not you who speaks, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

²² But Jesus answered and said, You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup which I am about to drink, or to be immersed with the immersion to which I am about to be immersed?
They say to him, We are able.

¹ And it happened, while he was praying in a certain place, that as he ceased, someone from his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray, just-as John also taught his disciples.
² Now he said to them, Whenever you pray, say, Our Father, the one in the heavens, let your name be made holy. Let your kingdom come. Let your will happen as in heaven, also upon the earth. ³ Give our needful daily bread to us. ⁴ And forgive us our sins; for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is obligated to us. And do not bring us into temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.


⁵ And he said to them, Which out of you will have a friend, and will be traveling to him at midnight and may say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves, ⁶ since a friend has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing as to what I will be placing beside him. ⁷ And he will answer from inside and should say, Do not be harassing me. The door has already been locked and my children are in the bunk with me. I am not able to give to you bread, even if I rise up. ⁸ I say to you, Even if he will not rise and will be giving to him because he is his friend, yet because of his irreverence, having arisen, he will be giving him as many as he needs.


⁹ And I say to you, Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will be finding; knock and it will be opened to you. ¹⁰ For everyone who asks, receives; and he who is seeking, finds; and to the one who knocks, it will be opened. ¹¹ Now which father of you will the son ask for a loaf; he will not be giving him a stone, will he? Or also a fish, he will not giving him a serpent instead of a fish, will he? ¹² Or if he asks for an egg, he will not be giving him a scorpion, will he? ¹³ Therefore if you, being evil, know how to give good presents to your children, how much more will your Father from heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?

⁴⁴ And having become in agony, he was praying more intensely, and his sweat became like thick drops of blood going down upon the soil.

¹⁶ And I will be requesting of the Father and he will be giving you another Helper, in order that he may abide with you forever,

²⁴ O I am a miserable man! Who will rescue me out of the body of this death?

¹⁵ For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the spirit of sonship, in which we cry, Abba, Father.

¹ Now we, the able, ought to bear the weaknesses of the powerless and not to please ourselves.

² For indeed we are groaning in this house, longing to be clothed with our house which is from heaven;

⁴ For indeed we who are in this tabernacle are groaning, being burdened; not in which we wish to be stripped, but we wish for ourselves to be clothed, in order that the mortal one may be swallowed up by life.

⁵ I will be boasting on behalf of such a one, but I will not be boasting on my own behalf, except in my weaknesses. ⁶ For if I wish to boast, I will not be foolish; for I will be speaking the truth, but I am refraining because no one should reason of me beyond what he sees from me or hears something out of me. ⁷ And, in order that I should not promote myself by the excellence of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of the Adversary, in order that it might batter me, in order that I should not promote myself. ⁸ I pleaded with the Lord three-times in regard to this thing, in order that it might withdraw from me. ⁹ And he has said to me, My grace is enough for you; for my power is completed in weakness. Therefore I will rather gladly be boasting in my weaknesses, in order that the power of the Christ might reside upon me. ¹⁰ Hence I am delighting in weaknesses, in insults, in calamities, in persecutions, in distresses, on behalf of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am mighty.

⁶ And because you are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

¹⁸ because through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.

¹⁸ through all prayer and supplication praying in all seasons in the Spirit and watching in this same thing in all perseverance and supplication concerning all the holy-ones.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high-priest who is unable to sympathize together with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted according to all things according to our likeness, yet without sin.

² he who is able to moderate his emotions with those who are ignorant and are misled, since he himself is also encompassed with weakness;

³ You ask and do not receive, because you ask evilly, in order that you may spend it in your sensual-delights.

²⁰ But you, beloved, keep building yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.
²¹ Keep yourselves in God’s love, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for everlasting life.
