Romans 6:16 Cross References - MLV

¹⁶ Do you not know, that to whom you present yourselves as bondservants to obedience, you are the bondservants to whom you obey; either of sin to death or of obedience to righteousness?

¹⁵ And if it seems evil to you* to serve Jehovah, choose you* this day whom you* will serve: whether the gods which your* fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you* dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

²⁴ No one is able to serve two lords, for either he will hate the one and will love the other; or he will hold to one and will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and ^{F} money.

³⁴ Jesus answered them, Assuredly, assuredly, I am saying to you, Everyone who practices sin is the bondservant of sin.

¹² Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you might obey it in its lusts; ¹³ nor present your members as weapons of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God, as living from the dead and your members as weapons of righteousness to God.

¹⁷ But gratitude to God, that, though you were bondservants of sin, you obeyed from the heart the pattern of teaching to which you were given;

¹⁹ I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh; for just-as you presented your members as bondservants to uncleanness and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as bondservants to righteousness leading to holiness. ²⁰ For when you were bondservants of sin, you were free in regard to the righteousness. ²¹ Therefore, what fruit were you having then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. ²² But now, having been made free from sin and having been enslaved to God, you have your fruit leading to holiness and the end everlasting life. ²³ For the compensations of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁹ They are promising them freedom, when they themselves are bondservants of corruption. For in what anyone has been succumbed, in this, he has also been enslaved.
