¹⁰⁶ I have sworn and have confirmed it, that I will observe your righteous ordinances.

³ And the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before Jehovah to walk after Jehovah and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to confirm the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.

¹³ And that whoever would not seek Jehovah, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. ¹⁴ And they swore to Jehovah with a loud voice and with shouting and with trumpets and with cornets.

²⁹ they clung to their brothers, their ranking men and entered into a curse and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moses the servant of God and to observe and do all the commandments of Jehovah our Lord and his ordinances and his statutes.

¹² Your vows are upon me, O God. I will render thank offerings to you.

¹³ I will come into your house with burnt offerings. I will pay you my vows, ¹⁴ which my lips uttered and my mouth spoke, when I was in distress.

¹¹⁵ Depart from me, you* evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God.

⁴ When you vow a vow to God, defer not to pay it, because he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow. ⁵ It is better that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay.

³³ Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘You will not perjure yourself, but will be giving your oaths to the Lord.’

⁵ and, not only as we had hoped, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and to us through the will of God.
