¹ O give thanks to Jehovah. Because he is good, because his loving kindness is everlasting. ² Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary, ³ and gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.
⁴ They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way. They found no city of habitation. ⁵ Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
⁶ Then they cried to Jehovah in their trouble and he delivered them out of their distresses. ⁷ He also led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
⁸ O that men would praise Jehovah for his loving kindness and for his wonderful works to the sons of men!
⁹ Because he satisfies the longing soul and he fills the hungry soul with good, ¹⁰ even those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron, ¹¹ because they rebelled against the words of God and scorned the counsel of the Most High.
¹² Therefore he brought down their heart with labor. They fell down and there was none to help.
¹³ Then they cried to Jehovah in their trouble and he saved them out of their distresses. ¹⁴ He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke their bonds apart.
¹⁵ O that men would praise Jehovah for his loving kindness and for his wonderful works to the sons of men!
¹⁶ Because he has broken the gates of brass and cut the bars of iron apart. ¹⁷ Fools are afflicted because of their transgression and because of their iniquities. ¹⁸ Their soul abhors all manner of food and they draw near to the gates of death.
¹⁹ Then they cry to Jehovah in their trouble and he saves them out of their distresses. ²⁰ He sends his word and heals them and delivers them from their destructions.
²¹ O that men would praise Jehovah for his loving kindness and for his wonderful works to the sons of men! ²² And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare his works with singing.
²³ Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business in great waters, ²⁴ these men see the works of Jehovah and his wonders in the deep.
²⁵ For he commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up the waves of it. ²⁶ They mountain up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths. Their soul melts away because of trouble. ²⁷ They reel to and fro and stagger like a drunken man and are at their wits' end.
²⁸ Then they cry to Jehovah in their trouble and he brings them out of their distresses. ²⁹ He makes the storm a calm, so that the waves of it are still. ³⁰ Then they are glad because they are quiet, so he brings them to their desired haven.
³¹ O that men would praise Jehovah for his loving kindness and for his wonderful works to the sons of men! ³² Let them also exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the seat of the elders.
³³ He turns rivers into a wilderness and water springs into a thirsty ground, ³⁴ a fruitful land into a salt desert, for the wickedness of those who dwell in it.
³⁵ He turns a wilderness into a pool of water and a dry land into water springs. ³⁶ And there he makes the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city of habitation, ³⁷ and sow fields and plant vineyards and get fruits of increase.
³⁸ He also graces them, so that they are multiplied greatly and he does not allow their cattle to decrease.
³⁹ Again, they are diminished and bowed down through oppression, trouble and sorrow. ⁴⁰ He pours contempt upon rulers and makes them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.
⁴¹ Yet he sets a needy man on high from affliction and makes him families like a flock. ⁴² The upright will see it and be glad. And all unrighteousness will stop her mouth.
⁴³ He who is wise will give heed to these things and they will consider the loving kindnesses of Jehovah.

³⁴ O give thanks to Jehovah, for he is good, for his loving kindness is everlasting.

⁴¹ And with them Heman and Jeduthun and the rest that were chosen, who were mentioned by name, to give thanks to Jehovah because his loving kindness is everlasting.

¹³ it happened, when the trumpeters and singers were as one voice, to sound-aloud in praising and thanking Jehovah. And when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music and praised Jehovah, saying, For he is good. For his loving kindness is everlasting, that the house was then filled with a cloud, even the house of Jehovah,

³ And all the sons of Israel looked on when the fire came down and the glory of Jehovah was upon the house. And they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement and worshiped and gave thanks to Jehovah, saying, For he is good. For his loving kindness is everlasting.

⁶ And the priests stood according to their offices, also the Levites with instruments of music of Jehovah, which David the king had made to give thanks to Jehovah (for his loving kindness is everlasting) when David praised by their ministry and the priests blew trumpets before them. And all Israel stood.

²¹ And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who should sing to Jehovah and give praise in holy array, as they went out before the army and say, Give thanks to Jehovah. For his loving kindness is everlasting.

⁵ Because Jehovah is good. His loving kindness is everlasting and his faithfulness to all generations.

¹⁷ But the loving kindness of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting upon those who fear him and his righteousness to son's sons,

¹ O give thanks to Jehovah, call upon his name. Make known among the peoples his practices.

¹ Praise Jehovah. O give thanks to Jehovah, because he is good, because his loving kindness is everlasting.

¹³ to him who divided the Red Sea apart, because loving kindness is everlasting,
¹⁴ and made Israel to pass through the midst of it, because his loving kindness is everlasting,
¹⁵ but overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea, because his loving kindness is everlasting,
¹⁶ to him who led his people through the wilderness, because his loving kindness is everlasting,
¹⁷ to him who killed* great kings, because his loving kindness is everlasting,
¹⁸ and killed famous kings, because his loving kindness is everlasting,
¹⁹ Sihon king of the Amorites, because his loving kindness is everlasting,
²⁰ and Og king of Bashan, because his loving kindness is everlasting,
²¹ and gave their land for a heritage, because his loving kindness is everlasting,
²² even a heritage to Israel his servant, because his loving kindness is everlasting,
²³ who remembered us in our low estate, for his loving kindness is everlasting,
²⁴ and has delivered us from our adversaries, because his loving kindness is everlasting,
²⁵ who gives food to all flesh, because his loving kindness is everlasting.
²⁶ O give thanks to the God of heaven, because his loving kindness is everlasting.

¹⁷ Now he said to him, Why do you call me good? No one is good except one–God, but if you wish to enter into everlasting life, keep the commandments.

⁵⁰ and his mercy is toward generations of generations to those who fear him.

¹⁶ Terror and dread falls upon them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone, till your people pass over, O Jehovah, till the people pass over whom you have purchased.

⁸ but because Jehovah loves you*. And because he would keep the oath which he swore to your* fathers, Jehovah has brought you* out with a mighty hand and redeemed you* out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh King of Egypt.

¹⁵ And you will remember that you were a bondman in the land of Egypt and Jehovah your God redeemed you. Therefore I command you this thing today.

⁵ I commend my spirit into your hand. You have redeemed me, O Jehovah, you, God of truth.

¹⁰ And he saved them from the hand of him who hated them and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

⁸ And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

⁹ No lion will be there, nor will any ravenous beast go up in it. They will not be found there. But the redeemed will walk there.

¹ But now Jehovah says thus who created you, O Jacob and he who formed you, O Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name, You are mine.

²² I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and as a cloud, your sins. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.

¹² And they will call them The holy people, The redeemed of Jehovah. And you will be called Sought out, A city not forsaken.

⁴ For the day of vengeance was in my heart and the year of my redeemed has come.

²¹ And I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked and I will redeem you out of the hand of the terrible.

¹¹ For Jehovah has ransomed Jacob and redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.

¹⁰ Be in pain and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail.
For now you will go forth out of the city and will dwell in the field and will come even to Babylon. There you will be rescued. There Jehovah will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.

⁶⁸ The Lord, the God of Israel is gracious. Because he has visited and made redemption for his people,

⁷⁴ having been fearlessly rescued out of the hand of our enemies, to give-divine service to him

²¹ Now we were hoping that he was the one who is about to redeem Israel. But yet today, together with all these things, is bringing us the third day from which these things happened.

¹³ Christ bought us up out of the curse of the law, having become a curse on our behalf; for it has been written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs upon a tree,’

¹⁴ who gave himself on our behalf, in order that he might redeem us away from all lawlessness and might cleanse a treasured people for himself, zealous of good works.

¹⁸ knowing that you were redeemed from your futile conduct handed down from your forefathers not with corruptible things like with silver or with gold. ¹⁹ But like that of an unblemished and unstained lamb, you were redeemed by the precious blood of Christ,

³ that then Jehovah your God will turn your captivity and have compassion upon you and will return and gather you from all the peoples where Jehovah your God has scattered you.

⁴⁷ Save us, O Jehovah our God and gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to your holy name and to triumph in your praise.

¹¹ And it will happen in that day, that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, who will remain, from Assyria and from Egypt and from Pathros and from Cush and from Elam and from Shinar and from Hamath and from the islands of the sea. ¹² And he will set up an ensign for the nations and will assemble the outcasts of Israel and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. ¹³ Also the envy of Ephraim will depart and those who besiege Judah will be cut off. Ephraim will not envy Judah and Judah will not besiege Ephraim. ¹⁴ And they will fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines on the west. Together they will despoil the sons of the east. They will put forth their hand upon Edom and Moab and the sons of Ammon will obey them.
¹⁵ And Jehovah will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea. And with his scorching wind he will wave his hand over the River and will kill* it into seven streams and cause men to march over dry shod. ¹⁶ And there will be a highway for the remnant of his people, who will remain, from Assyria, like as there was for Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

⁵ Do not fear, for I am with you. I will bring your seed from the east and gather you from the west. ⁶ I will say to the north, Give up and to the south, Do not keep back. Bring my sons from far and my daughters from the end of the earth,

¹² Behold, these will come from far, and behold, these from the north and from the west and these from the land of Sinim.

⁸ The lord Jehovah, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says, Yet I will gather to him, besides his own who are gathered.

¹⁴ And I will be found by you*, says Jehovah and I will turn again your* captivity. And I will gather you* from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you*, says Jehovah and I will bring you* again to the place from where I caused you* to be carried away captive.

⁸ Behold, I will bring them from the north country and gather them from the outermost parts of the earth and with them the blind man and the lame man, the woman with child and she who travails with child together. They will return here a great company.

¹⁰ Hear the word of Jehovah, O you* nations and declare it in the isles afar off and say, He who scattered Israel will gather him and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.

³⁴ And I will bring you* out from the peoples and will gather you* out of the countries in which you* are scattered, with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with wrath poured out,

²⁴ For I will take you* from among the nations and gather you* out of all the countries and will bring you* into your* own land.

²⁷ when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of their enemies' lands and am made holy in them in the sight of many nations.

⁹ And they are singing a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered and bought us in your blood for God out of every tribe and language and people and nation.

¹⁴ And Abraham rose up early in the morning and took bread and a skin-container of water and gave them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder and the child and sent her away. And she departed and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-sheba. ¹⁵ And the water in the skin-container was spent and she cast the child under one of the shrubs. ¹⁶ And she went and sat herself down opposite him a good way off, as if it was a bowshot away. For she said, Do not let me look upon the death of the child. And she sat opposite him and lifted up her voice and wept.

³³ And your* sons will be wanderers in the wilderness forty years and will bear your* prostitutions, until your* dead bodies be consumed in the wilderness.

¹³ And Jehovah's anger was kindled against Israel and he made them wander to and fro in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation that had done evil in the sight of Jehovah was consumed.

¹⁵ who led you through the great and terrible wilderness–fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where was no water–who brought you forth water out of the rock of flint,

¹⁰ He found him in a desert land and in the waste howling wilderness. He compassed him about. He cared for him. He kept him as the apple of his eye.

²⁴ He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth and makes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

⁶ My sheep wandered through all the mountains and upon every high hill. Yes, my sheep were scattered upon all the face of the earth and there was none who searched or sought.

¹² As a shepherd seeks out his flock, in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so I will seek out my sheep and I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

³⁸ (of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in the wildernesses and mountains and caves and the holes of the earth.

⁶ And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in order that they may nourish her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

¹⁸ And he was very thirsty and called on Jehovah and said, You have given this great deliverance by the hand of your servant and now shall I die for thirst and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised? ¹⁹ But God split the hollow place that is in Lehi and water came out there. And when he had drunk his spirit came again and he revived. Therefore the name of it was called En-hakkore, which is in Lehi to this day.

¹¹ And they found an Egyptian in the field and brought him to David and gave him bread. And he ate and they gave him water to drink. ¹² And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs and two clusters of raisins. And when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him, for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.

¹² The smith makes an axe and works in the coals and fashions it with hammers and works it with his strong arm. Yes, he is hungry and his strength fails. He drinks no water and is faint.

¹⁸ If I go forth into the field, then, behold, the slain with the sword! And if I enter into the city, then, behold, those who are sick with famine! For both the prophet and the priest go about in the land and have no knowledge.

¹⁹ Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches. Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift up your hands toward him for the life of your young sons, who faint for hunger at the head of every street.

² I have compassion upon the crowd, because they already remain with me for three days and do not have anything that they might eat. ³ And if I dismiss them starving to their house, they will be fainting on the road; for some of them have come from far away.

¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you and you will glorify me.

I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land springs of water.

¹² And you* will call upon me and you* will go and pray to me and I will listen to you*.
¹³ And you* will seek me and find me when you* will search for me with all your* heart. ¹⁴ And I will be found by you*, says Jehovah and I will turn again your* captivity. And I will gather you* from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you*, says Jehovah and I will bring you* again to the place from where I caused you* to be carried away captive.

¹⁵ I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offense and seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me earnestly.

⁸ For brethren, we do not wish you to be ignorant in regard to our affliction which happened to us in Asia, that we were burdened down surpassingly, beyond our power, so-that we despaired even to be living. ⁹ But, we ourselves have had the verdict of death in ourselves, in order that we should not have confidence in ourselves, but in God, who is raising up the dead; ¹⁰ who rescued us out of so-great a death and is rescuing us; in whom we have hoped that he will also still be rescuing us.

⁸ I pleaded with the Lord three-times in regard to this thing, in order that it might withdraw from me. ⁹ And he has said to me, My grace is enough for you; for my power is completed in weakness. Therefore I will rather gladly be boasting in my weaknesses, in order that the power of the Christ might reside upon me. ¹⁰ Hence I am delighting in weaknesses, in insults, in calamities, in persecutions, in distresses, on behalf of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am mighty.

¹¹ my persecutions and my sufferings, such-as happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, and in Lystra. I underwent many persecutions such-as these, and the Lord rescued me out of all of them. \ulnone\nosupersub

¹⁵ For we do not have a high-priest who is unable to sympathize together with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted according to all things according to our likeness, yet without sin. ¹⁶ Therefore let us come near to the throne of the grace with boldness, in order that we may receive mercy and may find grace for opportune help.

²¹ Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek of him a straight way for us and for our little ones and for all our substance. ²² For I was ashamed to ask of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way, because we had spoken to the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all those who seek him, for good, but his power and his wrath are against all those who forsake him. ²³ So we fasted and besought our God for this and he was entreated by us.

³ Now these are the chiefs of the province who dwelt in Jerusalem. But in the cities of Judah everyone dwells in his possession in their cities, namely, Israel, the priests and the Levites and the Nethinim and the sons of Solomon's servants.

²⁰ You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

⁵² But he led forth his own people like sheep and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

⁴ They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way. They found no city of habitation.

³⁶ And there he makes the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city of habitation,

¹⁶ to him who led his people through the wilderness, because his loving kindness is everlasting,

²¹ And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk you* in it when you* turn to the right hand and when you* turn to the left.

⁸ And a highway will be there and a way. And it will be called The way of holiness. The unclean will not pass over it, but it will be for the redeemed, the wayfaring men. Yes fools will not go-astray in it. ⁹ No lion will be there, nor will any ravenous beast go up in it. They will not be found there. But the redeemed will walk there.
¹⁰ And the ransomed of Jehovah will return and come with singing to Zion. And everlasting joy will be upon their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy. And sorrow and sighing will flee away.

¹⁷ Jehovah says thus, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am Jehovah your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way that you should go.

⁸ Jehovah says thus, In an acceptable time I have heard you and in a day of salvation I have helped you. And I will preserve you and give you for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritages, ⁹ saying to those who are bound, Go forth; to those who are in darkness, Show yourselves. They will feed in the ways and their pasture will be on all bare heights.
¹⁰ They will not hunger nor thirst, neither will the heat nor sun kill* them. For he who has mercy on them will lead them. He will guide them even by springs of water. ¹¹ And I will make all my mountains a way and my highways will be exalted.

¹³ who led them through the depths, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they stumbled not? ¹⁴ As the cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of Jehovah caused them to rest. So you led your people to make yourself a glorious name.

¹⁶ Jehovah says thus, Stand in the ways and see. And ask for the old paths where is the good way. And walk in it and you* will find rest for your* souls. But they said, We will not walk.

⁹ They will come with weeping. And I will lead them with supplications. I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they will not stumble. For I am a father to Israel and Ephraim is my firstborn.

²⁴ And Judah and all the cities of it will dwell in there together, the farmer and those who go about with flocks.

³⁸ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that the city will be built to Jehovah from the tower of Hananel to the gate of the corner. ³⁹ And the measuring line will go out further straight onward to the hill Gareb and will turn about to Goah.
⁴⁰ And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes and all the fields, to the brook Kidron, to the corner of the horse gate toward the east, will be holy to Jehovah. It will not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more everlasting.

¹⁰ Jehovah says thus: Yet again there will be heard in this place–of which you* say, It is waste, without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast– ¹¹ the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who say, Give thanks to Jehovah of hosts, for Jehovah is good, for his loving kindness is everlasting and of those who bring thanksgiving into the house of Jehovah. For I will cause the captivity of the land to return as at the first, says Jehovah.
¹² Jehovah of hosts says thus: Yet again there will be in this place, which is waste, without man and without beast and in all the cities of it, a habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
¹³ In the cities of the hill-country, in the cities of the lowland and in the cities of the South and in the land of Benjamin and in the places around Jerusalem and in the cities of Judah, the flocks will again pass under the hands of him who numbers them, says Jehovah.

⁹ In faith, he sojourned in the land of promise, as an alien, having dwelt in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the joint heirs of the same promise. ¹⁰ For he was waiting for the city which has the foundations, whose craftsman and contractor is God.

¹⁶ But now they are aspiring for themselves to a better region, this thing is a heavenly one. Hence God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God; for he has prepared a city for them.

²² But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem, and to tens of thousands of messengers,

¹⁵ having left the straight way. They were misled, having followed in the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

²¹ For it was better for them to have not known fully the way of righteousness, than to turn away from the holy commandment given to them after having fully known it.

² And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from heaven of God, having been prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. ³ And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men and he will be residing with them and they will be his people and God will be with them. ⁴ And he will be wiping-away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no death anymore. There will be no mourning, no crying, no pain anymore because the first things have passed away.

¹⁰ And he carried me away in the spirit to a mountain great and high and showed me the great holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, ¹¹ having the glory of God. Her illumination was similar to a precious stone, like a crystal-like jasper stone, ¹² having a great and high wall, having twelve gates and twelve messengers upon the gates, and names have been written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. ¹³ Three gates were on the east and three gates were on the north, and three gates were on the south, and three gates were on the west. ¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations and on them twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. ¹⁵ And he, speaking with me, was holding a measure, a golden reed, in order that he might measure the city and its gates and its wall. ¹⁶ And the four cornered city is laid, and the length is as the width and he measured the city with the reed in furlongs, twelve thousand and twelve furlongs, the length and the width and its height are equal. ¹⁷ And he measured its wall, a hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, which is, of a messenger. ¹⁸ And the structure of its wall was jasper and the city was purest gold, similar to purest glass. ¹⁹ The foundations of the wall of the city have been adorned with every precious stone. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; ²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, carnelian; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, hyacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. ²¹ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls apiece; each one of the gates was from one pearl, respectively and the street of the city was purest gold like transparent glass. ²² And I saw no temple in it; for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. ²³ And the city has no need of the sun, neither of the moon, in order that they should appear in it; for the glory of God illuminated it and its lamp is the Lamb. ²⁴ And the nations will be walking in its light and the kings of the earth bring glory to him and the honor of the nations into it. ²⁵ And its gates may never be locked by day (for there will be no night there). ²⁶ And they will be bringing the glory and the honor of the nations into it. ²⁷ And any desecrated thing or anyone practicing an abomination and a lie may never enter into it; except those who have been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life may enter into it.

²⁹ Oh that there were such a heart in them that they would fear me and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them and with their sons everlasting!

²⁹ Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

³ O magnify Jehovah with me and let us exalt his name together.

⁵ Many, O Jehovah my God, are the wonderful works which you have done and your thoughts which are toward us. They cannot be set in order to you. If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

⁴ We will not hide them from their sons, telling to the generation to come the praises of Jehovah and his strength and his wondrous works that he has done.

¹³ O that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways! ¹⁴ I would soon subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their adversaries. ¹⁵ (The haters of Jehovah pretend obedience to him, but their time is everlasting.)
¹⁶ He would feed them also with the finest of the wheat. And I would satisfy you with honey out of the rock.

¹ It is a good thing to give thanks to Jehovah and to sing praises to your name, O Most High, ² to show forth your loving kindness in the morning and your faithfulness every night,

¹⁵ O that men would praise Jehovah for his loving kindness and for his wonderful works to the sons of men!

⁴ He has made his wonderful works to be remembered. Jehovah is gracious and merciful.

¹ Praise Jehovah, because it is good to sing praises to our God. Because it is pleasant and praise is becoming.

¹⁸ Oh that you had listened to my commandments! Then your peace would have been as a river and your righteousness as the waves of the sea.

⁷ I will make mention of the loving kindnesses of Jehovah, and the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah has bestowed on us and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he has bestowed on them according to his mercies and according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.

² It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked toward me. ³ How great are his signs and how mighty are his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and his dominion is from generation to generation.

²⁷ He delivers and rescues and he works signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

²⁶ The meek will eat and be satisfied. They will praise Jehovah who seek after him. Let your* heart live forever.

¹⁰ The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek Jehovah will not want any good thing.

¹⁵ I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread.

⁷ who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. Jehovah releases the prisoners.

¹ Ho, everyone who thirsts, come you* to the waters. And he who has no money, come you*, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. ² Why do you* spend money for what is not bread and your* labor for what does not satisfy?
Listen diligently to me and eat you* what is good and let your* soul delight itself in fatness. ³ Incline your* ear and come to me. Hear and your* soul will live. And I will make an everlasting covenant with you*, even the faithful holy things of David.

¹⁴ And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness and my people will be satisfied with my goodness, says Jehovah.

²⁵ For I have satiated the weary soul and every sorrowful soul I have replenished.

⁶ Those who hunger and are thirsty for righteousness are fortunate, because they will be fed.

⁵³ He has filled the hungry with good things, and he has sent the rich away empty.

¹⁶ They will not be hungry anymore, nor thirsty anymore; nor should the heat of the sun fall upon them, nor any heat, ¹⁷ because the Lamb, who is in the midst of the throne, is shepherding them and is guiding them to the springs of waters of life and God will be wiping-away every tear from their eyes.

²³ And it happened in the course of those many days, that the King of Egypt died. And the sons of Israel sighed because of the bondage and they cried and their cry came up to God because of the bondage. ²⁴ And God heard their groaning and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob.

¹¹ Therefore Jehovah brought upon them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh in chains and bound him with fetters and carried him to Babylon.

⁵ Let darkness and the shadow of death claim it for their own. Let a cloud dwell upon it. Let blackness come upon it.

⁸ And if they are bound in fetters and be taken in the cords of afflictions, ⁹ then he shows them their work and their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves proudly.

¹⁸ They hurt his feet with fetters. He was placed in iron.

² The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them the light has shone.

⁷ to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon and those who sit in darkness out of the prison-house.

⁶ He has made me to dwell in dark places, as those who have been dead of old.
⁷ He has walled me around, that I cannot go forth. He has made my chain heavy.

⁸ Rejoice not against me, O my enemy. When I fall, I will arise. When I sit in darkness, Jehovah will be a light to me.

¹⁶ the people who sit in darkness saw a great light and to those who sit in the region and shadow of death, light has risen for them.’

¹³ Then the king said to the servants, When you bind him hand and foot, take him away and cast him out into the outer darkness–the weeping and the gnashing of teeth will be there.

⁷⁹ to appear upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death; to steer our feet into the way of peace.

²⁰ For when you were bondservants of sin, you were free in regard to the righteousness. ²¹ Therefore, what fruit were you having then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

⁵ Those who were full have hired out themselves for bread and those who were hungry have ceased to hunger. Yes, the barren has borne seven and she who has many sons languishes.
⁶ Jehovah kills and makes alive. He brings down to Sheol and brings up. ⁷ Jehovah makes poor and makes rich. He brings low, he also lifts up. ⁸ He raises up the poor out of the dust, he lifts up the needy from the dunghill, to make them sit with rulers and inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are Jehovah's and he has set the world upon them.

¹⁵ Therefore the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Amaziah. And he sent a prophet to him, who said to him, Why have you sought after the gods of the people, which have not delivered their own people out of your hand?
¹⁶ And it happened, as he talked with him, that the king said to him, Have we made you of the king's counsel? Cease. Why should you be struck? Then the prophet ceased and said, I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.

¹⁰ And Jehovah spoke to Manasseh and to his people, but they gave no heed.

¹⁶ But they mocked the messengers of God and despised his words and scoffed at his prophets, until the wrath of Jehovah arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

⁶ God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners into prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

¹⁸ You have ascended on high. You have led captivity captive. You have received gifts among men, yes, among the rebellious also, that Jehovah God might dwell with them.

²⁴ You will guide me with your counsel and afterward receive me to glory.

⁴⁰ How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness and grieved him in the desert!

⁷ Our fathers did not understand your wonders in Egypt. They did not remember the multitude of your loving kindnesses, but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea.

⁴³ Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their counsel and were brought low in their iniquity.

⁷ He raises up a poor man out of the dust and lifts up a needy man from the dunghill, ⁸ that he may set him with rulers, even with the rulers of his people. ⁹ He makes the barren woman to keep house, a joyful mother of sons.
Praise Jehovah.

²⁴ Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.

²⁵ but you* have made all my counsel void and want none of my reproof,

³⁰ They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof. ³¹ Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way and be filled with their own devices.

¹⁹ who say, Let him make speed, let him hasten his work, that we may see it. And let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it!

¹⁰ But they rebelled and grieved his holy Spirit. Therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.
¹¹ Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his holy Spirit in the midst of them,

¹⁶ As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of Jehovah, we will not listen to you.

³⁹ Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? ⁴⁰ Let us search and try our ways and turn again to Jehovah. ⁴¹ Let us lift up our heart with our hands to God in the heavens.
⁴² We have transgressed and have rebelled. You have not pardoned.

¹⁵ The joy of our heart is ceased, our dance is turned into mourning.
¹⁶ The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us! For we have sinned. ¹⁷ For this our heart is faint. For these things our eyes are dim,

³⁰ But the Pharisees and the professors of the law rejected the plan of God for themselves, having not been immersed by him.

¹⁴ Now the Pharisees, who are money-lovers, were also hearing all these things, and they were ridiculing him.

²⁷ For I did not retreat back from proclaiming to you the whole plan of God.

²⁸ And just-as they did not approve to have God in their full knowledge, God gave them up to an unapproved mind, to do those things which are not proper.

²³ And it happened in the course of those many days, that the King of Egypt died. And the sons of Israel sighed because of the bondage and they cried and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.

¹⁸ Go therefore now and work, and no straw will be given you*, yet you* will deliver the number of bricks. ¹⁹ And the officers of the sons of Israel saw that they were in affliction, when it was said, You* will not diminish anything from your* bricks, your* daily tasks.

¹⁶ And they put away the foreign gods from among them and served Jehovah. And his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
¹⁷ Then the sons of Ammon were gathered together and encamped in Gilead. And the sons of Israel assembled themselves together and encamped in Mizpah. ¹⁸ And the people, the rulers of Gilead, said one to another, What man is he who will begin to fight against the sons of Ammon? He will be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

²¹ And the Philistines laid hold on him and put out his eyes. And they brought him down to Gaza and bound him with fetters of brass and he did grinding in the prison-house.

³⁰ And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might and the house fell upon the lords and upon all the people that were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than those that he killed in his life.

²⁶ And as the King of Israel was passing by upon the wall, a woman cried out to him, saying, Help, my lord, O king. ²⁷ And he said, If Jehovah does not help you, from where shall I help you? Out of the threshing-floor, or out of the winepress?

³³ And while he was yet talking with them, behold, the messenger came down to him and he said, Behold, this evil is of Jehovah. Why should I wait for Jehovah any longer?

³⁷ And it yields much increase to the kings whom you have set over us because of our sins. Also they have power over our bodies and over our cattle, at their pleasure and we are in great distress.

¹³ God will not withdraw his anger. The helpers of Rahab stoop under him.

⁴⁰ You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me. ⁴¹ They cried, but there was none to save, even to Jehovah, but he answered them not.

¹¹ Do not be far from me, because trouble is near, because there is none to help.

⁴ Look on my right hand and see, for there is no man who knows me. Refuge has failed me. No man cares for my soul.

¹⁹ These two things have befallen you (Who will sympathize with you?): Desolation and destruction and the famine and the sword. How shall I comfort you? ²⁰ Your sons have fainted. They lie at the head of all the streets, as an antelope in a net. They are full of the wrath of Jehovah, the rebuke of your God.

²³ And I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, who have said to your soul, Bow down, that we may go over and you have laid your back as the ground and as the street, to those who go over.

⁵ Now therefore, what do I do here, says Jehovah, seeing that my people are taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them howl, says Jehovah. And because of you* my name is continually blasphemed among the Gentiles.

⁵ And I looked and there was none to help. And I wondered that there was none to uphold. Therefore my own arm brought salvation to me. And my wrath, it upheld me.

⁵ Our pursuers are upon our necks. We are weary and have no rest. ⁶ We have given the hand to the Egyptians and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

¹⁴ Now having spent all, there became a mighty famine throughout that region, and he began to have lack of things. ¹⁵ And he traveled and joined himself to one of the citizens of that region, and he sent him into his field to feed swine. ¹⁶ And he was desiring to fill his belly from the carob pods that the swine were eating, and no one was giving anything to him. ¹⁷ Now having come to himself, he said, How many of my father’s hired servants are abounding, even of bread? But I am perishing here in famine!

⁷ And Jehovah said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, because I know their sorrows. ⁸ And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite.

³ And the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah, for he had nine hundred chariots of iron and he mightily oppressed the sons of Israel twenty years.

⁶ And Israel was brought very low because of Midian and the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah. ⁷ And it happened, when the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah because of Midian, ⁸ that Jehovah sent a prophet to the sons of Israel. And he said to them, Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel, I brought you* up from Egypt and brought you* forth out of the house of bondage. ⁹ And I delivered you* out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all that oppressed you* and drove them out from before you* and gave you* their land. ¹⁰ And I said to you*, I am Jehovah your* God. You* will not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you* dwell, but you* have not listened to my voice.

¹⁰ And the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah, saying, We have sinned against you, even because we have forsaken our God and have served the Baals. ¹¹ And Jehovah said to the sons of Israel, Did not I save you * from the Egyptians and from the Amorites, from the sons of Ammon and from the Philistines? ¹² The Sidonians also and the Amalekites and the Maonites, oppressed you*. And you* cried to me and I saved you* out of their hand.
¹³ Yet you* have forsaken me and served other gods. Therefore I will save you* no more. ¹⁴ Go and cry to the gods which you* have chosen. Let them save you* in the time of your* distress.
¹⁵ And the sons of Israel said to Jehovah, We have sinned. Do to us whatever seems good to you, please only deliver us this day.

¹² And when he was in distress, he besought Jehovah his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. ¹³ And he prayed to him. And he was entreated of him and heard his supplication and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Jehovah he was God.

¹⁸ Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh and his prayer to his God and the words of the seers who spoke to him in the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel, behold, they are written among the acts of the kings of Israel.
¹⁹ Also his prayer and how God was entreated by him and all his sin and his trespass and the places in which he built high places and set up the Asherim.

⁶ I called upon Jehovah in my distress and cried to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple and my cry before him came into his ears.

⁶ Then they cried to Jehovah in their trouble and he delivered them out of their distresses.

³ The cords of death encompassed me and the pains of Sheol found me. I found trouble and sorrow. ⁴ Then I called upon the name of Jehovah. O Jehovah, I beseech you, deliver my soul.
⁵ Gracious is Jehovah and righteous. Yes, our God is merciful. ⁶ Jehovah preserves the simple. I was brought low and he saved me.

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim sympathize within himself saying, You have disciplined me and I was disciplined as a calf unaccustomed to the yoke. Turn me back and I will be turned back, for you are Jehovah my God.
¹⁹ Surely after that I was turned back. I repented and after I was instructed, I killed* upon my thigh. I was ashamed, yes, even confounded, because I bore the reproach of my youth.
²⁰ Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I do earnestly remember him still. Therefore my heart yearns for him. I will surely have mercy upon him, says Jehovah.

²¹ before I go where I will not return, to the land of darkness and of the shadow of death, ²² the land dark as midnight, of the shadow of death, without any order and where the light is as midnight.

²² He does not believe that he will return out of darkness. And he is awaited by the sword.

³⁰ He will not depart out of darkness. The flame will dry up his offshoots and by the breath of God's mouth he will go away.

⁸ He has walled up my way that I cannot pass and has set darkness in my paths.

³⁰ to bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.

⁸ And if they are bound in fetters and be taken in the cords of afflictions,

¹⁰ And Jehovah turned back the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. And Jehovah gave Job twice as much as he had before.
¹¹ Then there came to him all his brothers and all his sisters and all those who had been of his acquaintance before and ate bread with him in his house. And they sympathized with him and comforted him concerning all the evil that Jehovah had brought upon him. Each man also gave him a piece of money and each one a ring of gold.
¹² So Jehovah blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. And he had fourteen thousand sheep and six thousand camels and a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand female-donkeys.

²⁰ to hear the sighing of the prisoner, to loose those who are appointed to death,

¹⁹ Until the time that his word happened, the word of Jehovah tried him.
²⁰ The king sent and released him, even the ruler of peoples and let him go free.

¹⁰ even those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron,

¹⁶ O Jehovah, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your handmaid. You have loosed my bonds.

¹⁶ And I will bring the blind by a way that they do not know. I will lead them in paths that they do not know. I will make darkness light before them and crooked places straight. These things I will do and I will not forsake them.

⁹ saying to those who are bound, Go forth; to those who are in darkness, Show yourselves. They will feed in the ways and their pasture will be on all bare heights.

¹ Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of Jehovah has risen upon you. ² For, behold, darkness will cover the earth and gross darkness the peoples. But Jehovah will arise upon you and his glory will be seen upon you. ³ And nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising.

¹ The Spirit of the lord Jehovah is upon me, because Jehovah has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind and the opening of bonds to those who are bound,

³¹ And it happened in the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the twenty-fifth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah and brought him forth out of prison.
³² And he spoke kindly to him and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon, ³³ and changed his prison garments. And he ate bread before him continually all the days of his life. ³⁴ And for his allowance, there was a continual allowance given him by the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.

¹¹ As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant I have set free your prisoners from the pit in which is no water.
¹² Turn back to the stronghold, you* prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will render double to you.

¹⁶ Now this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom the Adversary had bound, behold, these eighteen years, is it not essential for her to have been loosed from this bond on the day of the Sabbath?

¹⁹ But a messenger of the Lord through the night, opened the doors of the prison, having led them out, said,

²⁵ But someone, having come, reported to them, Behold, the men, whom you placed in the prison yourselves, are in the temple standing and teaching the people.

⁷ And behold, a messenger of the Lord stood by him and a light shined in the cell and having struck Peter on the ribs, he lifted him up, saying, Stand up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. ⁸ And the messenger said to him, Gird yourself and tie on your sandals. Now he did so. And he says to him, Put your garment around you and follow me. ⁹ And having gone out, he was following him, and he did not know if true what is happening through the messenger, but he was thinking that he is seeing a vision. ¹⁰ Now having gone through the first and second prison, they came upon the iron gate that brings them into the city; which opened by itself for them, and they went out and went forward one lane, and immediately the messenger withdrew from him.

²⁶ and suddenly there became a great earthquake, so-that the foundations of the prison were shaken, and instantly all the doors were opened and everyone’s bonds were lax. ²⁷ But the jailor, came out of sleep and saw the doors of the prison had been open, drew his sword and was about to assassinate himself, supposing the prisoners to have fled. ²⁸ But Paul shouted with a loud voice, saying, Do nothing evil to yourself; for we are all here.
²⁹ Now when he asked for lights, he dashed in and came in trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, ³⁰ and having led them out, he said, Lords, what is essential for me to do in order that I might be saved?
³¹ Now they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your house. ³² And they spoke the word of the Lord to him, to all who were in his house. ³³ And having taken them in that same hour of the night, he fully-washed their lashes, and he and all his household were instantly immersed^*. \ulnone\nosupersub ³⁴ And he led them up into his house and placed a table before them, and was glad with all his household, all having believed in God.
³⁵ But when it became day, the magistrates sent the sergeants, saying, Release those men.
³⁶ Now the jailor reported these words to Paul, saying, The magistrates have sent me in order that you should be released. Therefore when you come out now, travel in peace.
³⁷ But Paul said to them, They have whipped us in public, uncondemned men who are Romans, and have cast us into prison, and are they now casting us out secretly? No, but when they come, let them lead us outside.
³⁸ Now the sergeants reported these words to the magistrates and they feared, having heard that they were Romans. ³⁹ And when they came, they pleaded with them, and having led them outside, they asked them to go out away from the city.
⁴⁰ Now when they came out of the prison and they entered into the house of Lydia, and having seen the brethren, they encouraged them and went out.

⁸ For you were previously in darkness, but now you^\'b0 are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s ownership, that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;

⁸ O that men would praise Jehovah for his loving kindness and for his wonderful works to the sons of men!

¹⁷ I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and will call upon the name of Jehovah. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows to Jehovah, yes, in the presence of all his people, ¹⁹ in the courts of Jehovah's house, in the midst of you, O Jerusalem.
Praise Jehovah.

³ And Samson lay till midnight and arose at midnight and laid hold of the doors of the gate of the city and the two posts and plucked them up, bar and all and put them upon his shoulders and carried them up to the top of the mountain that is before Hebron.

¹ Jehovah says thus to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held to subdue nations before him. And I will loose the loins of kings to open the doors before him. And the gates will not be shut. ² I will go before you and make the rough places smooth. I will break in pieces the doors of brass and cut apart the bars of iron.

¹³ The breaker has gone up before them. They have broken forth and passed on to the gate and have gone out there. And their king has passed on before them and Jehovah at the head of them.

³³ While the flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of Jehovah was kindled against the people and Jehovah killed* the people with a very great plague. ³⁴ And the name of that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah, because there they buried the people who lusted.

¹⁰ And the cloud removed from over the tent. And behold, Miriam was leprous, as snow. And Aaron looked upon Miriam, and behold, she was leprous. ¹¹ And Aaron said to Moses, Oh, my lord, I beseech you, do not lay sin upon us, in which we have done foolishly and in which we have sinned. ¹² Let her not, I pray, be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb. ¹³ And Moses cried to Jehovah, saying, Heal her, O God, I beseech you.

⁵ And the people spoke against God and against Moses, Why have you* brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread and there is no water and our soul loathes this light bread. ⁶ And Jehovah sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people and many people of Israel died.
⁷ And the people came to Moses and said, We have sinned, because we have spoken against Jehovah and against you. Pray to Jehovah, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. ⁸ And Jehovah said to Moses, You make a fiery serpent and set it upon a standard. And it will happen, that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, will live. ⁹ And Moses made a serpent of brass and set it upon the standard. And it happened, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of brass, he lived.

¹ The fool has said in his heart, There is no God.
They are corrupt. They have done abominable works. There is none that does good.

¹ O Jehovah, rebuke me not in your wrath, nor discipline me in your hot displeasure. ² Because your arrows stick fast in me and your hand presses me severely. ³ There is no soundness in my flesh because of your indignation, nor is there any health in my bones because of my sin.
⁴ Because my iniquities have gone over my head. As a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. ⁵ My wounds are loathsome and corrupt, because of my foolishness.
⁶ I am pained and bowed down greatly. I go mourning all the day long. ⁷ Because my loins are filled with burning and there is no soundness in my flesh. ⁸ I am faint and severely bruised. I have groaned because of the roaring of my heart.

⁶ A stupid man does not know, nor does a fool understand this.

²² How long, you* simple ones, will you* love simplicity? And scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?

⁷ and I beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding

²² He goes after her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks,

¹⁷ For the iniquity of his covetousness I was angry and killed* him. I hid my face and was angry and he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.
¹⁸ I have seen his ways and will heal him. I will lead him also and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.

⁶ Behold, it is written before me. I will not keep silence, but will recompense. Yes, I will recompense into their bosom ⁷ your* own iniquities and the iniquities of your* fathers together, says Jehovah, those who have burned incense upon the mountains and blasphemed me upon the hills. Therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom.

¹⁹ Your own wickedness will discipline you and your backslidings will reprove you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and a bitter, that you have forsaken Jehovah your God and that my fear is not in you, says the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.

³⁹ Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

¹⁹ He also is chastened with pain upon his bed and with continual strife in his bones, ²⁰ so that his life abhors bread and his soul dainty food. ²¹ His flesh is consumed away that it cannot be seen. And his bones that were not seen stick out.
²² Yes, his soul draws near to the pit and his life to the destroyers.

¹⁷ Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?

¹³ Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah. Behold my affliction from those who hate me, you who lifts me up from the gates of death

³ Because my soul is full of troubles and my life draws near to Sheol.

¹⁰ I said, In the noontide of my days I will go into the gates of Sheol. I am deprived of the residue of my years.

⁸ I cried to you, O Jehovah and I made supplication to Jehovah.
⁹ What profit is there in my blood when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise you? Shall it declare your truth? ¹⁰ Hear, O Jehovah and have mercy upon me. Jehovah, be my helper. ¹¹ You have turned for me my mourning into dancing. You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness, ¹² to the end that my glory may sing praise to you and not be silent.
O Jehovah my God, I will give thanks to you everlasting.

⁴ I sought Jehovah and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. ⁵ They looked to him and were radiant and their faces will never be confounded.
⁶ This poor man cried and Jehovah heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.

³⁴ When he killed them, then they inquired after him and they returned and sought God earnestly. ³⁵ And they remembered that God was their rock and the Most High God their redeemer.

⁴ Then I called upon the name of Jehovah. O Jehovah, I beseech you, deliver my soul.
⁵ Gracious is Jehovah and righteous. Yes, our God is merciful. ⁶ Jehovah preserves the simple. I was brought low and he saved me.
⁷ Return to your rest, O my soul, because Jehovah has dealt bountifully with you. ⁸ Because you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from falling.

³ Call to me and I will answer you and will show you great things and difficult, which you do not know.

⁴ And it happened, before Isaiah had gone out into the middle part of the city, that the word of Jehovah came to him, saying, ⁵ Turn back and say to Hezekiah the prince of my people, Jehovah says thus, the God of David your father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day you will go up to the house of Jehovah.

²³ If there is with him a messenger, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him, ²⁴ then God is gracious to him and says, Deliver him from going down to the pit; I have found a ransom. ²⁵ His flesh will be fresher than a child's. He returns to the days of his youth.
²⁶ He prays to God and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy and he restores to man his righteousness.

²⁸ He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit and my life will behold the light.
²⁹ Behold, all these things God works twice, yes three times, with a man, ³⁰ to bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.

² O Jehovah my God, I cried to you and you have healed me.
³ O Jehovah, you have brought up my soul from Sheol. You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

¹⁵ But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, because he will receive me. Selah.

¹³ Because you have delivered my soul from death and my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living.

³ who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, ⁴ who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies,

³ He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds.

¹⁵ He sends out his commandment upon earth. His word runs very swiftly.

¹⁸ He sends out his word and melts them. He causes his wind to blow and the waters flow.
¹⁹ He shows his word to Jacob, his statutes and his ordinances to Israel.

⁸ And the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not sufficient that you should come under my roof, but only speak by word and my young-servant will be healed.

²⁵ But Hezekiah did not render again according to the benefit done to him. For his heart was lifted up. Therefore there was wrath upon him and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

⁵ Come and see the works of God, awesome in actions toward the sons of men.

¹⁸ Was there no one found, except this immigrant, who returned to give glory to God?

¹² If he offers it for a thanksgiving, then he will offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil and unleavened wafers anointed with oil and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour soaked.

¹¹ Sing praises to Jehovah, who dwells in Zion. Declare among the people his practices.

¹⁴ Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving and pay your vows to the Most High.

²⁸ But it is good for me to draw near to God. I have made the lord Jehovah my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.

¹ O give thanks to Jehovah, call upon his name. Make known among the peoples his practices. ² Sing to him, sing praises to him. Talk of all his marvelous works.

¹² What shall I render to Jehovah for all his benefits toward me?

¹⁷ I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and will call upon the name of Jehovah.

¹⁷ I will not die, but live and declare the works of Jehovah.

⁴ And you* will say in that day, Give thanks to Jehovah. Call upon his name. Declare his practices among the peoples. Make mention that his name is exalted.

¹⁵ Therefore, let us always offer up a sacrifice of praising through him to God, that is, the fruit of our lips confessing in his name.

⁵ You, yourselves, like living stones, are also built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

⁷ You break the ships of Tarshish with the east wind.

¹⁰ Sing to Jehovah a new song and his praise from the end of the earth, you* who go down to the sea and all that is in it, the isles and the inhabitants of it.

²⁶ Your rowers have brought you into great waters. The east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas.

⁹ Now when a considerable amount of time had elapsed and the voyage was already dangerous, because the Fast had already passed, Paul was advising them, ¹⁰ saying to them, Men, I view that the voyage is about to be with disaster and much damage, not only of the load and of the ship, but also of our lives. ¹¹ But the centurion was being persuaded by the helmsman and by the ship-owner, rather than by the things being spoken by Paul. ¹² But the harbor being unfit for a wintering, most of the counsel purposed to set-sail to sea from there, if somehow they might be able to winter, after having arrived in Phoenix, a harbor of Crete, looking down the northwest and down the southwest. ¹³ Now when wind from the south blew softly, having thought to have taken-hold of the ir purpose, they lifted the anchor up and were coasting-along, closer to Crete. ¹⁴ But not long after, a typhoon wind, being called Euroclydon, was cast against her; ¹⁵ and when the ship was seized and it was not able to face the wind, having given her to the wind, we were being carried along. ¹⁶ Now having ran under the lee of a certain isle called Clauda, we were strong-enough to become skippers of the boat with difficulty; ¹⁷ and they, having lifted it up, were using cables, undergirding the ship, and fearing lest they might fall upon the sandbars of Syrtis, they lowered the tackling and so we were being carried along. ¹⁸ But being extremely storm-tossed, the next day they were making a jettison of the cargo; ¹⁹ and the third day they tossed out the tackling of the ship with their own hands. ²⁰ But when neither sun nor stars appeared upon most days and not just a small storm was laying down upon us, all our hope to be saved was furthermore taken away.
²¹ Now they are without much food, then Paul, having been standing in the midst of them, said, O men, it was essential for you to have been obedient to me and to have not set-sail away from Crete and then to have gained this disaster and damage. ²² And hereafter, I am advising you to be cheerful; for there will be no termination of life from among you, however of the ship, yes. ²³ For there stood beside me this night a messenger of the God, whose I am, to whom I also am giving-divine service to, ²⁴ saying, Do not fear, Paul; it is essential for you to stand-before Caesar and behold, God has granted to you all those who are sailing with you. ²⁵ Hence, be cheerful, men; for I believe God, that it will be so according to the manner it has been spoken to me. ²⁶ But it is essential for us to fall onto a certain island.
²⁷ Now as it became the fourteenth night, being carried to and fro in the Adriatic Sea, in the middle of the night, the sailors were perceiving some region to be coming up before them. ²⁸ And having sounded, they found twenty fathoms, and after a little bit of an interval of time, having sounded again, they found fifteen fathoms.

¹⁷ Because in an hour so-many riches was made desolate. And every helmsman and everyone who sails any place and sailors and as many as are working from the sea, stood from afar,

⁸ Or who shut up the sea with doors when it broke forth, like it had gone forth out of the womb, ⁹ when I made clouds the garment of it and thick darkness a swaddling-band for it, ¹⁰ and marked out for it my bound and set bars and doors, ¹¹ and said, This far you will come, but no farther and here your proud waves will be stayed?

⁵ The sea is his and he made it. And his hands formed the dry land.

²⁴ O Jehovah, how great are your works! You have made them all in wisdom. The earth is full of your riches.
²⁵ Yonder is the sea, great and wide, in which are innumerable creeping things, both small and great beasts. ²⁶ There go the ships. There is leviathan, whom you have formed to play in it.
²⁷ These all wait for you, that you may give them their food in due season.

³ The floods have lifted up, O Jehovah, the floods have lifted up their voice, the floods lift up their waves.

³¹ He spoke and there came swarms of flies and lice in all their borders.

³⁴ He spoke and the locust came and the grasshopper and that without number,

⁷ who causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain, who brings forth the wind out of his treasuries,

⁸ fire and hail, snow and vapor, stormy wind, fulfilling his word,

⁴ But Jehovah sent out a great wind upon the sea and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken.

²⁴ And behold, a great squall happened in the sea, so-that the ship was hidden by the waves, but he was sleeping.

¹⁸ And the sea was being aroused by a great blowing wind.

¹⁰ And even he who is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, will utterly melt, for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man and those who are with him are valiant men.

¹⁴ I am poured out like water and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is melted within me.

²⁸ My soul melts for heaviness. Strengthen me according to your word.

⁷ Therefore all hands will be feeble and every heart of man will melt.

¹⁰ She is empty and void and waste. And the heart melts and the knees kill* together and anguish is in all loins and the faces of them all have grown pale.

²⁵ They grope in the dark without light and he makes them to wander around like a drunken man.

²⁰ Shall it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?

³ And the spirit of Egypt will fail in the midst of it and I will destroy the counsel of it. And they will seek for the idols and for the charmers and for those who have familiar spirits and for the wizards.

¹⁴ Jehovah has mingled a spirit of perverseness in the midst of her and they have made Egypt go-astray in every work of it, as a drunken man wanders around in his vomit.

²⁰ The earth will stagger like a drunken man and will sway to and fro like a hammock. And the transgression of it will be heavy upon it and it will fall and not rise again.

⁹ Abide and wonder, take your* pleasure and be blind. They are drunken, but not with wine. They stagger, but not with strong drink.

⁵ Then the mariners were afraid and cried every man to his god. And they cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it to them. But Jonah had gone down into the innermost parts of the ship and he lay and was fast asleep. ⁶ So the captain came to him and said to him, What do you mean, O sleeper? Arise, call upon your God, perhaps that God will think upon us, that we not perish.

¹⁴ Therefore they cried to Jehovah and said, We beseech you, O Jehovah, we beseech you, let us not perish for this man's life and lay not upon us innocent blood. For you, O Jehovah, have done as it pleased you.

²⁵ And the disciples came to him and aroused him, saying, Save us Lord! We are perishing!

⁷ who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves and the tumult of the peoples.

⁹ You rule the pride of the sea. When the waves of it arise, you still them.

¹⁵ So they took up Jonah and cast him forth into the sea and the sea ceased from its raging.

²⁶ And he says to them, Why are you cowardly? You of small faith! Then he arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there became a great calm.

³⁹ And he was aroused and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Be silent. Hush. And the wind paused and there became a great calm. ⁴⁰ And he said to them, Why are you so cowardly? How do you not have faith?
⁴¹ And they feared with a great fear, and were saying to one another, Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea are obeying him?

²³ But while sailing, he slept and a gale of wind came down onto the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in peril.
²⁴ Now having come to him, they aroused him, saying, Master, Master! We are perishing. But having arisen, he rebuked the wind and the wave of the water, and they ceased, and it became calm.
²⁵ Now he said to them, Where is your faith?
But being afraid, they marveled, saying to one another, Who then is this, that he commands even the winds and the water and they are obedient to him?

²¹ Therefore they were willing to receive him into the ship and immediately the ship happened to be upon the land in which they were going.

¹⁷ O God, you have taught me from my youth and I have declared your wondrous works until now.

¹⁸ Praise Jehovah God, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things. ¹⁹ And praise his glorious name everlasting. And let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Truly and Truly.

¹¹ I will make mention of the deeds of Jehovah, because I will remember your wonders of long-ago.

¹⁴ You are the God who does wonders. You have made known your strength among the peoples.

² Praise Jehovah, O my soul and do not forget all his benefits,

⁸ For she did not know that I gave her the grain and the new wine and the oil and multiplied to her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.

¹⁶ Then the men feared Jehovah exceedingly and they offered a sacrifice to Jehovah and made vows.

⁹ But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of Jehovah.

⁴ For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of bondage. And I sent before you Moses, Aaron and Miriam.
⁵ O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him. Remember from Shittim to Gilgal, that you* may know the righteous acts of Jehovah.

²⁰ For the invisible things of him are clearly seen from the creation of the world, being perceived by the things made, both his eternal power and divinity; that they may be without defense; ²¹ because having known God, they did not glorify him as God, nor gave-thanks, but became-futile in their reasonings and their heart was darkened without understanding.

² For men will be lovers of themselves, money-lovers, braggarts, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

³ And they are singing the song of Moses the bondservant of God and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, the Almighty; your ways are righteous and true, the King of the nations.

² Jehovah is my strength and song and he has become my salvation. This is my God and I will praise him, my father's God and I will exalt him.

⁴⁶ Jehovah lives and my rock is blessed and exalted be the God of my salvation,

²² I will declare your name to my brothers. I will praise you in the midst of the congregation.

²⁵ From you comes my praise in the great assembly. I will pay my vows before those who fear him.

¹⁸ I will give you thanks in the great assembly. I will praise you among many people.

⁹ I have proclaimed good news of righteousness in the great assembly. Behold, I will not refrain my lips. O Jehovah, you know. ¹⁰ I have not hid your righteousness within my heart. I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation. I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great assembly.

¹⁰ Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.

¹⁶ Come and hear, all you* who fear God and I will declare what he has done for my soul.

⁵ Exalt Jehovah our God and worship at his footstool. Holy is he.

⁹ Exalt Jehovah our God and worship at his holy hill. Because Jehovah our God is holy.

¹ Praise Jehovah. I will give thanks to Jehovah with my whole heart, in the council of the upright and in the congregation.

⁴⁶ I also will speak of your testimonies before kings and will not be put to shame.

¹ O Jehovah, you are my God. I will exalt you. I will praise your name. For you have done wonderful things, even counsels of old, in faithfulness and truth.

⁸ Then Peter, having been filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, You rulers of the people and elders of Israel, ⁹ if we are examined today on the basis of a good work done to a sick man and by what means this one has been cured. ¹⁰ Let it be known to you all here and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised up from the dead; in him, this one who is standing in your sight is healthy. ¹¹ He is, ‘The stone scorned by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’ ¹² And there is salvation in none other; for neither is there any other name, that has been given among men, in which it is essential for us to be saved.

¹ And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the travelers of Gilead, said to Ahab, As Jehovah, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there will not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
² And the word of Jehovah came to him, saying, ³ You get from here and turn eastward and hide yourself by the brook Cherith that is before the Jordan. ⁴ And it will be, that you will drink of the brook and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.
⁵ So he went and did according to the word of Jehovah, for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith that is before the Jordan. ⁶ And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning and bread and flesh in the evening and he drank of the brook. ⁷ And it happened after a while, that the brook dried up because there was no rain in the land.

⁵ And Ahab said to Obadiah, Go through the land, to all the fountains of water and to all the brooks. Perhaps we may find grass and save the horses and mules alive, that we not lose all the beasts.

¹⁵ You split fountain and flood. You dried up mighty rivers.

¹⁹ And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans' pride, will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. ²⁰ It will never be inhabited, nor will it be dwelt in from generation to generation. Neither will the Arabian pitch tent there, nor will shepherds make their flocks to lie down there. ²¹ But wild beasts of the desert will lie there and their houses will be full of doleful creatures. And ostriches will dwell there and wild goats will dance there.

⁵ And the waters will fail from the sea and the river will be wasted and become dry. ⁶ And the rivers will become foul. The streams of Egypt will be diminished and dried up. The reeds and flags will wither away. ⁷ The meadows by the Nile, by the brink of the Nile and all the sown fields of the Nile, will become dry, be driven away and be no more.
⁸ And the fishermen will lament and all those who cast a hook into the Nile will mourn and those who spread nets upon the waters will languish. ⁹ Moreover those who work in combed flax and those who weave white cloth, will be confounded. ¹⁰ And the pillars of Egypt will be broken in pieces. All those who work for hire will be grieved in soul.

⁹ And the streams of Edom will be turned into pitch and the dust of it into brimstone. And the land of it will become burning pitch. ¹⁰ It will not be quenched night nor day. The smoke of it will go up everlasting. From generation to generation it will lie waste. None will pass through it forever and forever.

¹⁵ I will lay waste mountains and hills and dry up all their herbs. And I will make the rivers islands and will dry up the pools.

²⁷ who says to the deep, Be dry and I will dry up your rivers,

² Why, when I came, was there no man? When I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea. I make the rivers a wilderness. Their fish stink because there is no water and die for thirst.

³ And their ranking men send their little ones to the waters. They come to the cisterns and find no water. They return with their vessels empty. They are put to shame and confounded and cover their heads,

¹² And I will make the rivers dry and will sell the land into the hand of evil men. And I will make the land desolate and all that is in it, by the hand of strangers.
I, Jehovah, have spoken it.

²⁰ Yes, the beasts of the field pant to you, for the water brooks are dried up and the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness.

⁷ And I also have withheld the rain from you*, when there were yet three months to the harvest. And I caused it to rain upon one city and caused it not to rain upon another city. One piece was rained upon and the piece upon which it did not rain withered. ⁸ So two or three cities wandered to one city to drink water and were not satisfied.
Yet you* have not returned to me, says Jehovah.

⁴ He rebukes the sea and makes it dry and dries up all the rivers. Bashan languishes and Carmel and the flower of Lebanon languishes.

⁹ Therefore as I live, says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab will be as Sodom and the sons of Ammon as Gomorrah, a possession of nettles and salt pits and a everlasting desolation. The residue of my people will make a prey of them and the remnant of my nation will inherit them.

¹³ And he will stretch out his hand against the north and destroy Assyria and will make Nineveh a desolation and dry like the wilderness.

¹⁰ And Lot lifted up his eyes and beheld all the Plain of the Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere ( this was before Jehovah destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of Jehovah, like the land of Egypt, as you go to Zoar.

¹³ Now the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and great sinners against Jehovah.

³ All these joined together in the valley of Siddim (which is the Salt Sea).

²⁴ Then Jehovah rained brimstone and fire upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah, from Jehovah out of heaven. ²⁵ And he overthrew those cities and all the Plain and all the inhabitants of the cities and what grew upon the ground.

²³ The whole land of it is brimstone and salt, a burning. It is not sown, nor bears, nor any grass grows in it, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Jehovah overthrew in his anger and in his wrath, ²⁴ even all the nations will say, Why has Jehovah done thus to this land? What is the meaning of the heat of this great anger?
²⁵ Then men will say, Because they forsook the covenant of Jehovah, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, ²⁶ and went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods that they did not know and that he had not given to them. ²⁷ Therefore the anger of Jehovah was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curse that is written in this book. ²⁸ And Jehovah rooted them out of their land in anger and in wrath and in great indignation and cast them into another land, as at this day.

¹³ Thorns and briers will come up on the land of my people, yes, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city. ¹⁴ For the palace will be forsaken. The populous city will be deserted. The hill and the watch-tower will be for dens everlasting, a joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks, ¹⁵ until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field and the fruitful field be esteemed as a forest.

¹¹ But the miry places of it and the marshes of it, will not be healed. They will be given up to salt.

¹⁶ And from there they journeyed to Beer. That is the well of which Jehovah said to Moses, Gather the people together and I will give them water. ¹⁷ Then Israel sang this song: Spring up, O well. Sing to it, ¹⁸ the well, which the rulers dug, which the nobles of the people dug, with the scepter, and with their staves. And from the wilderness they journeyed to Mattanah,

¹⁶ And he said, Jehovah says thus, Make this valley full of trenches. ¹⁷ For Jehovah says thus, You* will not see wind, neither will you* see rain, yet that valley will be filled with water and you* will drink, both you* and your* cattle and your* beasts. ¹⁸ And this is but a light thing in the sight of Jehovah. He will also deliver the Moabites into your* hand. ¹⁹ And you* will kill* every fortified city and every choice city and will fell every good tree and stop all fountains of water and mar every good piece of land with stones.
²⁰ And it happened in the morning, about the time of offering the oblation, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom and the country was filled with water.

⁸ who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

⁶ Then the lame man will leap as a male-deer and the tongue of the mute will sing. For waters in the wilderness will break out and streams in the desert. ⁷ And the glowing sand will become a pool and the thirsty ground springs of water. In the habitation of jackals, where they lay, will be grass with reeds and rushes.

¹⁷ The poor and needy seek water and there is none and their tongue fails for thirst. I, Jehovah, will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. ¹⁸ I will open rivers on the bare heights and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land springs of water. ¹⁹ I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia and the myrtle and the oil tree. I will set in the desert the fir tree, the pine and the box tree together,

³ For I will pour water upon him who is thirsty and streams upon the dry ground. I will pour my Spirit upon your seed and my blessing upon your offspring. ⁴ And they will spring up among the grass, as willows by the watercourses. ⁵ One will say, I am Jehovah's and another will call himself by the name of Jacob and another will subscribe with his hand to Jehovah and surname himself by the name of Israel.

⁶ And he said to me, Son of man, have you seen this? Then he brought me and caused me to return to the bank of the river.
⁷ Now when I had returned, behold, upon the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other. ⁸ Then he said to me, These waters go forth toward the eastern region and will go down into the Arabah. And they will go toward the sea, into the sea which were made to go forth and the waters will be healed. ⁹ And it will happen, that every living creature which swarms, in every place where the rivers come, will live. And there will be a very great multitude of fish (for these waters have come there) and will be healed. And everything will live wherever the river comes. ¹⁰ And it will happen, that fishermen will stand by it. From En-gedi even to En-eglaim will be a place for the spreading of nets. Their fish will be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, very many. ¹¹ But the miry places of it and the marshes of it, will not be healed. They will be given up to salt. ¹² And every tree will grow for food by the river upon the bank of it, on this side and on that side, whose leaf will not wither, nor will the fruit of it fail. It will bring forth new fruit every month, because the waters of it goes forth out of the sanctuary. And the fruit of it will be for food and the leaf of it for healing.

⁷ He also led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

²⁶ And he made of one blood every nation of men to dwell upon all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed seasons and the borders of their residence;

¹² And Isaac sowed in that land and found a hundredfold in the same year. And Jehovah blessed him.

⁹ You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it. The river of God is full of water. You provide them grain because you have so prepared the earth. ¹⁰ You water its furrows abundantly. You settle the ridges of it. You make it soft with showers. You bless the springing of it.
¹¹ You crown the year with your goodness and your paths drop fatness. ¹² They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness and the hills are girded with joy. ¹³ The pastures are clothed with flocks. The valleys also are covered over with grain. They shout for joy; they also sing.

³⁰ And this will be the sign to you. You* will eat this year what grows of itself and in the second year what springs of the same and in the third year sow you* and reap and plant vineyards and eat the fruit of it.

²¹ And they will build houses and inhabit them. And they will plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them.

⁵ Build you* houses and dwell in them and plant gardens and eat the fruit of them.

⁵ Again you will plant vineyards upon the mountains of Samaria. The planters will plant and will enjoy it.

²⁶ And they will dwell securely in it. Yes, they will build houses and plant vineyards and will dwell securely, when I have executed judgments upon all those who do them spite all around them.
And they will know that I am Jehovah their God.

¹⁰ The field is laid waste; the land mourns. For the grain is destroyed, the new wine is dried up, the oil languishes.
¹¹ Be confounded, O you* farmer. Wail, O you* vine-dressers, for the wheat and for the barley, for the harvest of the field has perished. ¹² The vine is withered and the fig tree languishes. The pomegranate tree, the palm tree also and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field are withered. For joy has withered away from the sons of men.

¹³ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that the plowman will overtake the reaper and the treader of grapes he who draws seed and the mountains will drop sweet wine and all the hills will melt.
¹⁴ And I will bring back the captivity of my people Israel and they will build the waste cities and inhabit them and they will plant vineyards and drink the wine of it. They will also make gardens and eat the fruit of them. ¹⁵ And I will plant them upon their land and they will no more be plucked up out of their land which I have given them, says Jehovah your God.

⁵ Now therefore Jehovah of hosts says thus: Consider your* ways. ⁶ You* have sown much and bring in little. You* eat, but you* have not enough. You* drink, but you* are not filled with drink. You* clothe yourselves, but there is none warm. And he who earns wages earns wages to put into a bag with holes.

¹⁰ Therefore for your* sake the heavens withhold the dew and the earth withholds its fruit. ¹¹ And I called for a drought upon the land and upon the mountains and upon the grain and upon the new wine and upon the oil and upon what the ground brings forth and upon men and upon cattle and upon all the labor of the hands.

¹⁶ Through all that time, when a man came to a heap of twenty measures, there were but ten. When he came to the wine vat to draw out fifty vessels, there were but twenty. ¹⁷ I killed* you* with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the work of your* hands, yet you* turned not to me, says Jehovah.
¹⁸ Consider, I beseech you*, from this day and backward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, since the day that the foundation of Jehovah's temple was laid, consider it. ¹⁹ Is the seed yet in the barn? Yes, the vine and the fig tree and the pomegranate and the olive tree have not brought forth. From this day I will bless you*.

¹² For there will be the seed of peace. The vine will give its fruit and the ground will give its increase and the heavens will give their dew. And I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things.

¹⁷ Although he did not leave himself unwitnessed, by doing good, giving rainfalls and fruitful seasons to you from heaven, filling our hearts with nourishment and joy.

⁷ So-then neither is the one who is planting anything, nor the one who is watering, but God who is causing the growth.

¹⁰ Now he who is supplying seed to the sower and bread for food, may supply and may multiply your seed and may cause the growth of the fruits of your righteousness.

²⁸ And God blessed them. And God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and have power over it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.

² And I will make of you a great nation and I will bless you and make your name great and you will be a blessing.

¹⁶ And I will bless her. And moreover I will give you a son by her. Yes, I will bless her and she will be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will be by her.

²⁰ And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly. He will father twelve princes and I will make him a great nation.

⁴³ And the man increased exceedingly and had large flocks and maid-servants and men-servants and camels and donkeys.

⁹ Thus God has taken away the cattle of your* father and given them to me.

⁷ And the sons of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly and multiplied and grew exceedingly mighty and the land was filled with them.

³ behold, the hand of Jehovah is upon your cattle which are in the field, upon the horses, upon the donkeys, upon the camels, upon the herds and upon the flocks–a very grievous pestilence. ⁴ And Jehovah will make a distinction between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt and there will nothing die of all that belongs to the sons of Israel.
⁵ And Jehovah appointed a set time, saying, Tomorrow Jehovah will do this thing in the land. ⁶ And Jehovah did that thing on the morrow and all the cattle of Egypt died, but of the cattle of the sons of Israel not one died.
⁷ And Pharaoh sent, and behold, there was not so much as one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was stubborn and he did not let the people go.

³⁸ And a mixed multitude also went up with them and flocks and herds, even very much cattle.

¹⁴ You will be blessed above all peoples. There will not be male or female barren among you*, or among your* cattle.

⁴ The fruit of your body will be blessed and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beasts, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock.

¹¹ And Jehovah will make you plenteous for good, in the fruit of your body and in the fruit of your cattle and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which Jehovah swore to your fathers to give you.

⁹ And Jehovah your God will make you plenteous in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body and in the fruit of your cattle and in the fruit of your ground, for good. For Jehovah will again rejoice over you for good, as he rejoiced over your fathers,

¹ All who fear Jehovah are fortunate, who walk in his ways. ² Because you will eat the labor of your hands. You will be fortunate and it will be well with you. ³ Your wife will be as a fruitful vine in the innermost parts of your house, your sons like olive plants all around your table.
⁴ Behold, because the man will be blessed thus who fears Jehovah. ⁵ Jehovah bless you out of Zion and see you the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life. ⁶ Yes, see you your son's sons.

¹³ our garners are full, affording all manner of store, our sheep bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields, ¹⁴ our oxen are well laden, no breaking in and no going forth and no outcry in our streets,

²² The blessing of Jehovah, it makes rich and he adds no sorrow with it.

¹⁹ And out of them will proceed thanksgiving and the voice of those who make merry. And I will multiply them and they will not be few. I will also glorify them and they will not be small.

²⁶ Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them. It will be an everlasting covenant with them and I will place them and multiply them and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them everlasting.

¹¹ And there will I nourish you, because there are yet five years of famine, lest you come to poverty, you and your household and all that you have.

¹³ And the Egyptians made the sons of Israel to serve with rigor. ¹⁴ And they made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and in brick and in all manner of service in the field, all their service, with which they made them serve with rigor.

³ And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up and the Amalekites and the sons of the east, they came up against them. ⁴ And they encamped against them and destroyed the increase of the earth, till you come to Gaza and left no sustenance in Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor donkey.
⁵ For they came up with their cattle and their tents. They came in as locusts for multitude. Both they and their camels were without number and they came into the land to destroy it.
⁶ And Israel was brought very low because of Midian and the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah.

²⁰ And she said to them, Call me not Naomi. Call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me. ²¹ I went out full and Jehovah has brought me home again empty. Why do you* call me Naomi, seeing Jehovah has testified against me and the Almighty has afflicted me?

⁵ Those who were full have hired out themselves for bread and those who were hungry have ceased to hunger. Yes, the barren has borne seven and she who has many sons languishes.
⁶ Jehovah kills and makes alive. He brings down to Sheol and brings up. ⁷ Jehovah makes poor and makes rich. He brings low, he also lifts up.

⁸ And it fell on a day that Elisha passed to Shunem where there was a prominent woman. And she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as often as he passed by he turned in there to eat bread.

³ And it happened at the end of seven years, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines and she went forth to cry to the king for her house and for her land.

³² In those days Jehovah began to cut off from Israel. And Hazael killed* them in all the borders of Israel,

⁷ For he did not leave to Jehoahaz of the people except fifty horsemen and ten chariots and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Syria destroyed them and made them like the dust in threshing.

²² And Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.

²⁶ For Jehovah saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter, for there was none shut up nor left at large, neither was there any helper for Israel.

⁵ And in those times there was no peace to him who went out, nor to him who came in, but great confusions were upon all the inhabitants of the lands. ⁶ And they were broken in pieces, nation against nation and city against city. For God distressed them with all adversity.

¹⁰ Have you not made a hedge on every side on behalf of him and his house and all that he has? You have blessed the work of his hands and his substance is increased in the land. ¹¹ But put forth your hand now and touch all that he has and he will renounce you to your face. ¹² And Jehovah said to Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power, only upon himself do not put forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of Jehovah.
¹³ And it fell on a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house, ¹⁴ that there came a messenger to Job and said, The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them, ¹⁵ and the Sabeans fell upon them and took them away. Yes, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword and only I alone have escaped to tell you.
¹⁶ While he was yet speaking, there came also another and said, The fire of God fell from heaven and has burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them and only I alone have escaped to tell you.
¹⁷ While he was yet speaking, there came also another and said, The Chaldeans made three bands and fell upon the camels and have taken them away, yes and slain the servants with the edge of the sword and only I alone have escaped to tell you.

⁶ As for me, I said in my prosperity, I will not be shaken everlasting. ⁷ You, Jehovah, had made my mountain to stand strong from your favor. You hid your face; I was troubled.

³³ For Jehovah of hosts says thus, the God of Israel: The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing-floor at the time when it is trodden. Yet a little while and the time of harvest will come for her.
³⁴ Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me. He has crushed me. He has made me an empty vessel. He has, like a monster, swallowed me up. He has filled his stomach with my delicacies. He has cast me out.

³ And the river will swarm with frogs, which will go up and come into your house and into your bedroom and upon your bed and into the house of your servants and upon your people and into your ovens and into your kneading-troughs.

¹⁷ And they did so. And Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod and killed* the dust of the earth. And there were lice upon man and upon beast; all the dust of the earth became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

²⁴ And Jehovah did so and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh and into his servants' houses. And in all the land of Egypt the land was corrupted because of the swarms of flies.

²⁴ And it happened, when they brought out those kings to Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel and said to the chiefs of the men of war who went with him, Come near, put your* feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near and put their feet upon the necks of them.
²⁵ And Joshua said to them, Do not fear, nor be dismayed. Be strong and of good courage, for thus will Jehovah do to all your* enemies against whom you* fight. ²⁶ And afterward Joshua killed* them and put them to death and hanged them on five trees. And they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.

⁶ But Adoni-bezek fled and they pursued after him and caught him and cut off his thumbs and his great toes.
⁷ And Adoni-bezek said, Seventy kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered scraps under my table. As I have done, so God has requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem and he died there.

²¹ Then Jael Heber's wife took a tent-stake and took a hammer in her hand and went softly to him and struck the pin into his temples and it pierced through into the ground, for he was in a deep sleep, so he fainted and died.

⁹ And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of Jehovah was against the city with a very great confusion. And he killed* the men of the city, both small and great and tumors broke out upon them.

⁴ Then they said, What will be the trespass offering which we will return to him? And they said, Five golden tumors and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines, for one plague was on you* all and on your* lords.

¹⁹ And you will speak to him, saying, Jehovah says thus, Have you killed and also taken possession? And you will speak to him, saying, Jehovah says thus, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth will dogs lick your blood, even your.

³⁵ And they went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands. ³⁶ Therefore they came back and told him. And he said, This is the word of Jehovah, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel will the dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel, ³⁷ and the body of Jezebel will be as manure upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, so that they will not say, This is Jezebel.

²¹ He pours contempt upon rulers and weakens the strength of the strong.

⁶⁶ And he killed* his adversaries backward. He put them to a everlasting reproach.

⁸ Who has purposed this against Tyre, the giver of crowns, whose merchants are rulers, whose traders are the honored of the earth? ⁹ Jehovah of hosts has purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.

¹⁵ Hear and listen, do not be proud, for Jehovah has spoken. ¹⁶ Give glory to Jehovah your* God, before he causes darkness and before your* feet stumble upon the dark mountains. And while you* look for light, he turns it into the shadow of death and makes it gross darkness.
¹⁷ But if you* will not hear it, my soul will weep in secret for your* pride. And my eye will weep greatly and run down with tears, because Jehovah's flock is taken captive.
¹⁸ You say to the king and to the queen mother: Humble yourselves. Sit down, for your* coronets have come down, even the crown of your* glory.

³³ The same hour the thing was fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar. And he was driven from men and ate grass as oxen. And his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hair was grown like eagles' feathers and his nails like birds' claws.

⁵ In the same hour the fingers of a man's hand came out and wrote opposite the lamp-stand upon the plaster of the wall of the king's palace. And the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
⁶ Then the king's countenance was changed in him and his thoughts troubled him. And the joints of his loins were loosed and his knees killed* one against another.

¹⁸ O you king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father the kingdom and greatness and glory and majesty. ¹⁹ And because of the greatness that he gave him, all the peoples, nations and languages trembled and feared before him. Whom he wanted, he killed and whom he wanted, he kept alive and whom he wanted, he raised up and whom he wanted, he put down.
²⁰ But when his heart was lifted up and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was deposed from his kingly throne. And they took his glory from him, ²¹ and he was driven from the sons of men. And his heart was made like the beasts and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. He was fed with grass like oxen and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, until he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men and that he sets up over it whomever he will.
²² And you his son, O Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you knew all this, ²³ but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven. And they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of brass, iron, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor know. And the God in whose hand your breath is and whose are all your ways, you have not glorified.
²⁴ Then the part of the hand was sent from before him and this writing was inscribed. ²⁵ And this is the writing that was inscribed: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
²⁶ This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE, God has numbered your kingdom and brought it to an end. ²⁷ TEKEL, you are weighed in the balances and are found wanting. ²⁸ PERES, your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.
²⁹ Then Belshazzar commanded and they clothed Daniel with purple and put a chain of gold about his neck and made proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.
³⁰ In that night Belshazzar the Chaldean King was slain.

²³ But instantly a messenger of the Lord struck him, because he did not give God the glory and he expired, having become maggot-eaten.

¹⁸ in order that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit upon them and the flesh of all men, both free men and bondservants and both the little and the great.

⁵ And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him, ⁶ Hear us, my lord. You are a prince of God among us. Bury your dead in our choice sepulchers. None of us will withhold his sepulcher from you, but so that you may bury your dead.
⁷ And Abraham rose up and bowed himself to the people of the land, and to the sons of Heth.

¹¹ And Israel said to Joseph, I had not thought to see your face, and behold, God has let me see your seed also.

¹⁴ And the women said to Naomi, Praise Jehovah, who has not left you this day without a near kinsman. And let his name be famous in Israel. ¹⁵ And he will be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age, for your daughter-in-law, who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons, has borne him.
¹⁶ And Naomi took the child and laid it in her bosom and became nurse to it. ¹⁷ And the women, her neighbors, gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi. And they called his name Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

⁸ He raises up the poor out of the dust, he lifts up the needy from the dunghill, to make them sit with rulers and inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are Jehovah's and he has set the world upon them.

²¹ And Jehovah visited Hannah and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before Jehovah.

¹⁵ And Mordecai went forth from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white and with a great crown of gold and with a robe of fine linen and purple. And the city of Shushan shouted and was glad.
¹⁶ The Jews had light and gladness and joy and honor. ¹⁷ And in every province and in every city, wherever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had gladness and joy, a feast and a good day. And many from among the peoples of the land became Jews, for the fear of the Jews was fallen upon them.

¹¹ so that he sets up on high those who are low and those who mourn are exalted to safety.

⁷ And though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase.

¹⁵ Surely then you will lift up your face without spot. Yes, you will be steadfast and will not fear. ¹⁶ For you will forget your misery. You will remember it as waters that are passed away. ¹⁷ And your life will be clearer than the noonday. Though there is darkness, it will be as the morning. ¹⁸ And you will be secure, because there is hope. Yes, you will search about you and will take your rest in safety. ¹⁹ Also you will lie down and none will make you afraid. Yes, many will correspond with you.

¹¹ They send forth their little ones like a flock and their children dance.

¹⁶ And after this Job lived a hundred and forty years and saw his sons and his sons' sons, even four generations.

⁶ Yes, see you your son's sons.

⁶ Son's sons are the crown of old men and the glory of sons are their fathers.

²⁰ The sons of your bereavement will yet say in your ears, The place is too narrow for me. Give a place to me that I may dwell. ²¹ Then you will say in your heart, Who has fathered these for me, seeing I have been bereaved of my sons and am solitary, an exile and wandering to and fro? And who has brought up these? Behold, I was left alone, these, where were they?
²² The lord Jehovah says thus: Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations and set up my ensign to the peoples. And they will bring your sons in their bosom and your daughters will be carried upon their shoulders.

¹¹ Behold, we esteem those fortunate who are enduring. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the end of the Lord, how that he is very affectionate and compassionate.

⁷ But against any of the sons of Israel will not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast, that you* may know how that Jehovah makes a distinction between the Egyptians and Israel.

¹⁵ But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty. ¹⁶ So a poor man has hope and unrighteousness stops her mouth.

¹⁹ The righteous see it and are glad. And the innocent laugh them to scorn,

⁶ The righteous also will see and fear and will laugh at him, saying,

¹⁰ A righteous man will rejoice because he sees the vengeance. He will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked, ¹¹ so that men will say, Truly there is a reward for the righteous man. Truly there is a God who judges in the earth.

¹¹ But the king will rejoice in God. Everyone who swears by him will glory, because the mouth of those who speak lies will be stopped.

¹⁰ A wicked man will see it and be grieved. He will gnash with his teeth and melt away. The desire of wicked men will perish.

¹¹ The mouth of a righteous man is a fountain of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

¹⁰ Rejoice you* with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you* who love her. Rejoice for joy with her, all you* who mourn over her, ¹¹ that you* may nurse and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations, that you* may get milk out and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

¹⁴ And you* will see and your* heart will rejoice and your* bones will flourish like the tender grass. And the hand of Jehovah will be known toward his servants and he will have indignation against his enemies.

¹⁹ Now we know how-much, as many things as the law says, it is speaking to those in the law; in order that every mouth may be sealed and all the world may become under the sentence of God;

⁵ because they do not regard the works of Jehovah, nor the operation of his hands. He will break them down and not build them up.

²³ Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me. And to him who orders his way aright I will show the salvation of God.

⁹ And all men will fear. And they will declare the work of God and will wisely consider of his doing.

¹² And the harp and the lute, the tambourine and the pipe and wine, are in their feasts, but they do not regard the work of Jehovah, nor have they considered the operation of his hands.

¹² Who is the wise man, who may understand this and he to whom the mouth of Jehovah has spoken, that he may declare it? Why has the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that none passes through?

²⁴ but let he who boasts boast in this, that he has understanding and knows me, that I am Jehovah who exercises loving kindness, justice and righteousness, in the earth. For in these things I delight, says Jehovah.

¹² Then he said to me, Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. And I have come for your words' sake.

⁹ Who is wise, that he may understand these things, prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of Jehovah are right and the just will walk in them. But transgressors will fall in them.

¹⁸ having been rooted and having been founded in love, in order that you may have strength to grab, together with all the holy-ones, of what is the width and length and depth and height, ¹⁹ and to know the love of the Christ which surpasses knowledge, in order that you may be filled to all the fullness of God.
