²⁹ Do not say, I will do so to him as he has done to me; I will render to the man according to his work.

²² And Absalom spoke to Amnon neither good nor bad, for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.
²³ And it happened after two full years, that Absalom had sheep-shearers in Baal-hazor, which is beside Ephraim and Absalom invited all the king's sons. ²⁴ And Absalom came to the king and said, Behold now, your servant has sheep-shearers. Let the king, I beseech you and his servants go with your servant. ²⁵ And the king said to Absalom, No, my son, let us not all go, lest we are burdensome to you. And he pressed him. However he would not go, but blessed him.
²⁶ Then Absalom said, If not, I beseech you, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said to him, Why should he go with you? ²⁷ But Absalom pressed him and he let Amnon and all the king's sons go with him.
²⁸ And Absalom commanded his servants, saying, Notice you* now, when Amnon's heart is merry with wine and when I say to you*, Strike Amnon, then kill him. Do not fear; have I not commanded you*? Be courageous and be valiant.

²² Do not say, I will recompense evil. Wait for Jehovah and he will save you.

²¹ If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. ²² Because you will heap coals of fire upon his head and Jehovah will reward you.

³⁹ But I am saying to you, Not to stand against an evil man, but who ever slaps you upon your right jaw, turn also the other to him. ⁴⁰ And to him, who is willing to have a lawsuit against you and wants to take away your tunic, then also allow for him to take your^\'b0 outer garment. ⁴¹ And who ever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. ⁴² Give to the one who asks you and do not turn away from the one who wishes to borrow from you. ⁴³ You have heard that it was said, ‘You will love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ ⁴⁴ But I am saying to you, Love^*\'b0 your enemies, speak well of those who curse you, do good things to those who hate you and pray on behalf of those who are railing at you and are persecuting you.

¹⁷ Repay to no one evil in exchange-for evil. Plan-for good things in the sight of all men. ¹⁸ If possible, what is from you should be at peace with all men.
¹⁹ Beloved, do not be avenging yourselves, but give a chance for the wrath of God; for it has been written, ‘Vengeance is for me. I will be repaying, says the Lord.’ ²⁰ Therefore, if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for while doing this, you will be piling up hot-coals of fire upon his head. ²¹ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

¹⁵ See that not anyone repays evil in exchange-for evil to anyone, but always pursue the good, both toward one another and toward all.
