¹ Then the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph, drew near. And these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah and Hoglah and Milcah and Tirzah.
² And they stood before Moses and before Eleazar the priest and before the rulers and all the congregation, at the door of the tent of meeting, saying, ³ Our father died in the wilderness and he was not among the company of those who gathered themselves together against Jehovah in the company of Korah, but he died in his own sin and he had no sons. ⁴ Why should the name of our father be taken away from among his family, because he had no son? Give to us a possession among the brothers of our father. ⁵ And Moses brought their case before Jehovah.
⁶ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ⁷ The daughters of Zelophehad speak right. You will surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brothers and you will cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them.
⁸ And you will speak to the sons of Israel, saying, If a man dies and has no son, then you* will cause his inheritance to pass to his daughter. ⁹ And if he has no daughter, then you* will give his inheritance to his brothers. ¹⁰ And if he has no brothers, then you* will give his inheritance to his father's brothers. ¹¹ And if his father has no brothers, then you* will give his inheritance to his kinsman who is next to him of his family and he will possess it. And it will be to the sons of Israel a statute and ordinance, as Jehovah commanded Moses.
¹² And Jehovah said to Moses, You get up onto this mountain of Abarim and behold the land which I have given to the sons of Israel. ¹³ And when you have seen it, you also will be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother was gathered, ¹⁴ because you* rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the waters before their eyes. (These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)
¹⁵ And Moses spoke to Jehovah, saying, ¹⁶ Let Jehovah, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation, ¹⁷ who may go out before them and who may come in before them and who may lead them out and who may bring them in, that the congregation of Jehovah is not as sheep which have no shepherd.
¹⁸ And Jehovah said to Moses, You take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit and lay your hand upon him, ¹⁹ and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation and give him a charge in their sight. ²⁰ And you will put of your honor upon him, that all the congregation of the sons of Israel may obey. ²¹ And he will stand before Eleazar the priest, who will inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before Jehovah. At his word will they go out and at his word they will come in, both he and all the sons of Israel with him, even all the congregation.
²² And Moses did as Jehovah commanded him. And he took Joshua and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation. ²³ And he laid his hands upon him and gave him a charge, as Jehovah spoke by Moses.

³³ And Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah.

¹ And the heads of the fathers of the family of the sons of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near and spoke before Moses and before the rulers, the heads of the fathers of the sons of Israel. ² And they said, Jehovah commanded my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the sons of Israel. And my lord was commanded by Jehovah to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.
³ And if they are married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the sons of Israel, then their inheritance will be taken away from the inheritance of our fathers and will be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they will belong. So it will be taken away from the lot of our inheritance. ⁴ And when the jubilee of the sons of Israel will be, then their inheritance will be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they will belong. So their inheritance will be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.
⁵ And Moses commanded the sons of Israel according to the word of Jehovah, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph speak right. ⁶ This is the thing which Jehovah commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them be married to whom they think best, only they will be married into the family of the tribe of their father. ⁷ So no inheritance of the sons of Israel will remove from tribe to tribe, for the sons of Israel will cling each one to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers. ⁸ And every daughter, who possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the sons of Israel, will be wife to one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the sons of Israel may possess every man the inheritance of his fathers. ⁹ So no inheritance will move from one tribe to another tribe, for the tribes of the sons of Israel will cling each one to his own inheritance.
¹⁰ Even as Jehovah commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad, ¹¹ for Mahlah, Tirzah and Hoglah and Milcah and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to their father's brothers' sons. ¹² They were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

³ But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters. And these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah. ⁴ And they came near before Eleazar the priest and before Joshua the son of Nun and before the rulers, saying, Jehovah commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers. Therefore according to the commandment of Jehovah he gave them an inheritance among the brothers of their father.
⁵ And there fell ten parts to Manasseh, besides the land of Gilead and Bashan, which is beyond the Jordan, ⁶ because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons. And the land of Gilead belonged to the rest of the sons of Manasseh.

¹⁵ And Machir took a wife of Huppim and Shuppim, whose sister's name was Maacah and the name of the second was Zelophehad. And Zelophehad had daughters.

²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bondservant nor free man, there is no male and female; for you all are one in Christ Jesus.

¹³ And it happened on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people and the people stood about Moses from the morning to the evening. ¹⁴ And when Moses' father-in-law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that you do to the people? Why do you sit by yourself and all the people stand about you from morning to evening?

¹⁹ Listen now to my voice. I will give you counsel and God be with you. You be a leader for the people toward God and bring you the cases to God. ²⁰ And you will teach them the statutes and the laws and will show them the way in which they must walk and the work that they must do.
²¹ Moreover you will provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating unjust gain and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties and rulers of tens, ²² and let them judge the people at all seasons. And it will be, that every great matter they will bring to you, but every small matter they will judge themselves. So it will be easier for yourself and they will bear the burden with you.
²³ If you will do this thing and God command you so, then you will be able to endure and all this people also will go to their place in peace.
²⁴ So Moses listened to the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said. ²⁵ And Moses chose able men out of all Israel and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties and rulers of tens, ²⁶ and they judged the people at all seasons. The hard cases they brought to Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.

³³ And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation. ³⁴ And they put him in confinement, because it had not been declared what should be done to him.

⁸ If there arise a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates, then you will arise and get you up to the place which Jehovah your God will choose. ⁹ And you will come to the priests the Levites and to the judge who will be in those days and you will inquire. And they will show you the sentence of judgment.
¹⁰ And you will do according to the tenor of the sentence which they will show you from that place which Jehovah will choose. And you will observe to do according to all that they will teach you,

³⁵ I, Jehovah, have spoken, surely I will do this to all this evil congregation that are gathered together against me. In this wilderness they will be consumed and there they will die.

¹ Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took, ² and they rose up before Moses, with certain of the sons of Israel, two hundred and fifty rulers of the congregation, called to the assembly, men of renown, ³ and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron and said to them, You* take too much upon you*, since all the congregation are holy, every one of them and Jehovah is among them. Why then do you* lift up yourselves above the assembly of Jehovah?

¹⁹ And Korah assembled all the congregation against them to the door of the tent of meeting. And the glory of Jehovah appeared to all the congregation.

³² and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up and their households and all the men that pertained to Korah and all their goods. ³³ So they and all that pertained to them, went down alive into Sheol. And the earth closed upon them and they perished from among the assembly.
³⁴ And all Israel that were all around them fled at the cry of them, for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up. ³⁵ And fire came out from Jehovah and devoured the two hundred and fifty men who offered the incense.

⁴⁹ Now those who died by the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, besides those who died about the matter of Korah.

⁹ And the sons of Eliab: Nemuel and Dathan and Abiram. These are that Dathan and Abiram, who were renown men of the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah when they strove against Jehovah, ¹⁰ and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up together with Korah when that company died, that time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men and they became an example.

⁶⁴ But among these there was not a man of them who was numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai. ⁶⁵ For Jehovah had said of them, They will surely die in the wilderness. And there was not a man of them left, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.

⁴ Behold, all souls are mine, as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine. The soul that sins, it will die.

²¹ Therefore Jesus said again to them, I am going away and you will be seeking me and will be dying in your sin; where I am going, you are not able to come.

²⁴ Therefore I said to you, that you will be dying in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am, you will be dying in your sins.

¹² Because of this, just-as sin entered into the world through one man and death through sin, and so death has gone forth to all men, in which all have sinned.

²¹ in order that, just-as sin reigned in death, so also the favor might also reign through righteousness to everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

²³ For the compensations of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹¹ And Moses besought Jehovah his God and said, Jehovah, why does your wrath grow hot against your people, whom you have brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

⁴ And they came near before Eleazar the priest and before Joshua the son of Nun and before the rulers, saying, Jehovah commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers. Therefore according to the commandment of Jehovah he gave them an inheritance among the brothers of their father.

¹³ Let his posterity be cut off. Let their name be blotted out in the following generation.

⁹ The light of the righteous rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

¹⁵ And Moses said to his father-in-law, Because the people come to me to inquire of God. ¹⁶ When they have a matter, they come to me and I judge between a man and his neighbor. And I make them know the statutes of God and his laws.
¹⁷ And Moses' father-in-law said to him, The thing that you do is not good. ¹⁸ You will surely wear away, both you and this people that is with you, because the thing is too heavy for you. You are not able to perform it yourself alone.
¹⁹ Listen now to my voice. I will give you counsel and God be with you. You be a leader for the people toward God and bring you the cases to God.

²² And there I will meet with you. And I will speak with you from above the mercy-seat, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give you in commandment to the sons of Israel.

¹² And they put him in confinement, that it might be declared to them at the mouth of Jehovah. ¹³ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

⁸ And Moses said to them, Stay, that I may hear what Jehovah will command concerning you*.

³⁴ And they put him in confinement, because it had not been declared what should be done to him.

⁴ I would set my case in order before him and fill my mouth with arguments.

⁵ Trust in Jehovah with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding. ⁶ Acknowledge him in all your ways and he will direct your paths.

⁵ A father of the fatherless and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. ⁶ God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners into prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

¹ And the heads of the fathers of the family of the sons of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near and spoke before Moses and before the rulers, the heads of the fathers of the sons of Israel. ² And they said, Jehovah commanded my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the sons of Israel. And my lord was commanded by Jehovah to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.

⁵ A father of the fatherless and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

¹¹ Leave your fatherless sons; I will preserve them alive. And let your widows trust in me.

²⁵ If your brother becomes poor and sells some of his possession, then his kinsman who is next to him will come and will redeem what his brother has sold.

⁴⁹ Or his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him. Or any who is near of kin to him of his family may redeem him. Or if he becomes rich, he may redeem himself.

²⁹ And these things will be for a statute and ordinance to you* throughout your* genealogy in all your* dwellings.

³ And he said to the near kinsman, Naomi, who has come again out of the country of Moab, sells the parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelech's. ⁴ And I thought to disclose it to you, saying, Buy it before those who sit here and before the elders of my people. If you will redeem it, redeem it, but if you will not redeem it, then tell me that I may know, for there is none to redeem it besides you and I am after you. And he said, I will redeem it. ⁵ Then Boaz said, That day you buy the field of the hand of Naomi, you must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance. ⁶ And the near kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself lest I mar my own inheritance. You take my right of redemption on you, for I cannot redeem it.

²⁵ And it was so from that day forward, that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel to this day.

⁸ So Hanamel my uncle's son came to me in the court of the guard according to the word of Jehovah and said to me, I beseech you, buy my field that is in Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin. For the right of inheritance is your and the redemption is your. Buy it for yourself. Then I knew that this was the word of Jehovah.

⁴⁷ And they journeyed from Almon-diblathaim and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.
⁴⁸ And they journeyed from the mountains of Abarim and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

²³ And I besought Jehovah at that time, saying, ²⁴ O lord Jehovah, you have begun to show your servant your greatness and your strong hand, for what god is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to your works and according to your mighty acts? ²⁵ Let me go over, I beseech you and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that pleasant mountain and Lebanon.
²⁶ But Jehovah was angry with me because of you* and did not listen to me. And Jehovah said to me, It will be enough for you. Speak no more to me of this matter. ²⁷ You get up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward and behold with your eyes, for you will not go over this Jordan.

⁴⁸ And Jehovah spoke to Moses that same day, saying, ⁴⁹ You get up onto this mountain of Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is opposite Jericho and behold the land of Canaan, which I give to the sons of Israel for a possession. ⁵⁰ And die on the mountain where you go up and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died in Mount Hor and was gathered to his people, ⁵¹ because you* trespassed against me in the midst of the sons of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin, because you* did not sanctify me in the midst of the sons of Israel. ⁵² For you will see the land before you, but you will not go there into the land which I give the sons of Israel.

¹ And Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is opposite Jericho. And Jehovah showed him all the land of Gilead, to Dan, ² and all Naphtali and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh and all the land of Judah, to the farther sea, ³ and the South and the Plain of the valley of Jericho the city of palm trees, to Zoar. ⁴ And Jehovah said to him, This is the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, saying, I will give it to your seed. I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you will not go over there.

⁸ And Abraham gave up the spirit and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years and was gathered to his people.

¹⁷ And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty-seven years. And he gave up the spirit and died and was gathered to his people.

²⁴ Aaron will be gathered to his people, for he will not enter into the land which I have given to the sons of Israel, because you* rebelled against my word at the waters of Meribah. ²⁵ Take Aaron and Eleazar his son and bring them up to Mount Hor, ²⁶ and strip Aaron of his garments and put them upon Eleazar his son. And Aaron will be gathered and will die there.
²⁷ And Moses did as Jehovah commanded. And they went up into Mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. ²⁸ And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments and put them upon Eleazar his son. And Aaron died there on the top of the mountain and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.

² Avenge the sons of Israel of the Midianites. Afterward you will be gathered to your people.

³⁸ (And Aaron the priest went up onto Mount Hor at the commandment of Jehovah and died there, in the fortieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.

⁶ (And the sons of Israel journeyed from Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died and there he was buried and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest's office instead of him.

⁵⁰ And die on the mountain where you go up and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died in Mount Hor and was gathered to his people,

⁷ And he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the contending of the sons of Israel and because they challenged Jehovah, saying, Is Jehovah among us, or not?

¹ And the sons of Israel, even the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Zin in the first month and the people abode in Kadesh. And Miriam died there and was buried there.

⁸ Take the rod and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother and speak to the rock before their eyes, that it give forth its water and you will bring forth water to them out of the rock. So you will give the congregation and their cattle drink. ⁹ And Moses took the rod from before Jehovah, as he commanded him.
¹⁰ And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock and he said to them, Hear now, you* rebels. Shall we bring forth water to you* out of this rock? ¹¹ And Moses lifted up his hand and killed* the rock with his rod twice and water came out abundantly. And the congregation drank and their cattle.
¹² And Jehovah said to Moses and Aaron, Because you* did not believe in me, to sanctify me in the eyes of the sons of Israel, therefore you* will not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them. ¹³ These are the waters of Meribah, because the sons of Israel contend with Jehovah and he was made holy in them.

²⁴ Aaron will be gathered to his people, for he will not enter into the land which I have given to the sons of Israel, because you* rebelled against my word at the waters of Meribah.

³⁷ Also Jehovah was angry with me for your* sakes, saying, You also will not go in there.

³² They also angered him at the waters of Meribah, so that it went ill with Moses because of them, ³³ because they were rebellious against his spirit and he spoke ill-advisedly with his lips.

²² And they fell upon their faces and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, will one man sin and will you be angry with all the congregation?

¹⁴ And Jehovah said to Moses, Behold, your days approach that you must die. Call Joshua and present yourselves in the tent of meeting, that I may give him a command. And Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tent of meeting.

¹³ Now therefore behold the king whom you* have chosen and whom you* have asked for. And behold, Jehovah has set a king over you*.

⁵ And behold, I purpose to build a house for the name of Jehovah my God, as Jehovah spoke to David my father, saying, Your son, whom I will set upon your throne in your place, he will build the house for my name.

¹⁵ And I will give you* shepherds according to my heart, who will feed you* with knowledge and understanding.

⁴ And I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them. And they will fear no more, nor be dismayed. Neither will any be lacking, says Jehovah.
⁵ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch and he will reign as king and deal wisely and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.

¹¹ For thus says the lord Jehovah: Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep and will seek them out. ¹² As a shepherd seeks out his flock, in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so I will seek out my sheep and I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
¹³ And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries and will bring them into their own land. And I will feed them upon the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses and in all the inhabited places of the country. ¹⁴ I will feed them with good pasture and their fold will be upon the mountains of the height of Israel. There they will lie down in a good fold and on fat pasture they will feed upon the mountains of Israel.
¹⁵ I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep and I will cause them to lie down, says the lord Jehovah. ¹⁶ I will seek what was lost and will bring back what was driven away and will bind up what was broken and will strengthen what was sick, but I will destroy the fat and the strong. I will feed them in justice.

²³ And I will set up one shepherd over them and he will feed them, even my servant David. He will feed them and he will be their shepherd.

²⁴ And my servant David will be king over them and they all will have one shepherd. They will also walk in my ordinances and observe my statutes and do them.

³⁸ Therefore beseech from the Lord of the harvest, that he should put out workers into his harvest.

¹¹ I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life on behalf of the sheep.

²⁸ Therefore, take-heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you as overseers, to shepherd the congregation of the Lord and God, which the Lord acquired through his own blood.

⁹ Thereafter, we have indeed had the fathers of our flesh as correctors of us, and we were revering them. Will we not much rather be made subject to the Father of spirits and we will live?

² Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising the oversight, not by compulsion, but willfully, nor covetously, but eagerly; ³ nor like one lording it over his inheritances, but by becoming examples to the flock. ⁴ And when the Chief-Shepherd is made manifest, you will be getting the unfading crown of glory.

² And he said to them, I am a hundred and twenty years old this day. I can no more go out and come in. And Jehovah has said to me, You will not go over this Jordan.

²⁰ that we also may be like all the nations and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.

⁵ And they were scattered because there was no shepherd. And they became food to all the beasts of the field and were scattered.

² For the household-idol have spoken vanity and the diviners have seen a lie and they have told false dreams. They comfort in vain. Therefore they go their way like sheep. They are afflicted, because there is no shepherd.

⁷ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd and against the man who is my companion, says Jehovah of hosts. Strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered. And I will turn my hand upon the little ones.

³⁶ But when he saw the crowds, he had compassion concerning them, because they were fainting in spirit and were being tossed about, like sheep not having a shepherd.

⁶ but travel rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

²⁴ But he answered and said, I was not sent, except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

²⁵ For you were being misled like sheep, but now were returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

³⁸ And Pharaoh said to his servants, Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the spirit of God?

⁹ And Moses said to Joshua, Choose us out men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.

¹⁷ And I will come down and talk with you there. And I will take of the spirit which is upon you and will put it upon them and they will bear the burden of the people with you, that you not bear it yourself alone.

²⁵ And Jehovah came down in the cloud and spoke to him and took of the spirit that was upon him and put it upon the seventy elders. And it happened, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.
²⁶ But there remained two men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad and the name of the other Medad. And the spirit rested upon them. And they were of those who were written, but had not gone out to the tent. And they prophesied in the camp. ²⁷ And a young man ran and told Moses and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp. ²⁸ And Joshua the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.
²⁹ And Moses said to him, Are you jealous for my sake? Would that all of Jehovah's people were prophets, that Jehovah would put his spirit upon them!

⁸ of the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun;

¹⁶ These are the names of the men that Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.

²³ And he laid his hands upon him and gave him a charge, as Jehovah spoke by Moses.

²⁸ But charge Joshua and encourage him and strengthen him, for he will go over before this people and he will cause them to inherit the land which you will see.

⁷ And Moses called to Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of good courage. For you will go with this people into the land which Jehovah has sworn to their fathers to give them and you will cause them to inherit it. ⁸ And Jehovah, he it is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you, nor forsake you. Do not fear, neither be dismayed.

²³ And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a command and said, Be strong and of good courage, for you will bring the sons of Israel into the land which I swore to them and I will be with you.

⁹ And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him. And the sons of Israel listened to him and did as Jehovah commanded Moses.

¹⁰ And the Spirit of Jehovah came upon him and he judged Israel. And he went out to war and Jehovah delivered Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand and his hand prevailed against Cushan-rishathaim.

²⁹ Then the Spirit of Jehovah came upon Jephthah and he passed over Gilead and Manasseh and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over to the sons of Ammon.

¹³ Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of Jehovah came mightily upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.
¹⁴ Now the Spirit of Jehovah departed from Saul and an evil spirit from Jehovah troubled him.

¹⁸ Then one of the young men answered and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite who is skillful in playing and a mighty man of valor and a man of war and prudent in speech and a handsome man and Jehovah is with him.

¹⁴ I have heard of you, that the spirit of the gods is in you and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.

³⁴ For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God does not give the Spirit from measure.

³ Therefore brethren, elect out of you seven men well testified of, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom, whom we might designate over this need.

⁶ whom they stood in the sight of the apostles and having prayed, they laid their hands upon them.

¹⁵ who came down and prayed concerning them so that they might receive the Holy Spirit. ¹⁶ For he had not yet fallen upon any of them, but they were only immersed into the name of the Christ Jesus. ¹⁷ Then they were laying their hands upon them and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.
¹⁸ But when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’hands the Holy Spirit is given, he offered them monies, ¹⁹ saying, Give to me also this authority, in order that I may lay my hands on whomever, and he may receive the Holy Spirit.

³ Then having fasted and prayed and having laid their hands on them, they dismissed them.

⁶ And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they were speaking in foreign languages and were prophesying.

⁴ Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. ⁵ And there are diversities of services and the same Lord. ⁶ And there are diversities of workings, but it is the same God, who is working all things in all. ⁷ But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for what is advantageous: ⁸ for the word of wisdom is given to one through the Spirit, and the word of knowledge to another according to the same Spirit; ⁹ and miraculous faith to different one in the same Spirit; and gifts of healing to another in the same Spirit; ¹⁰ and workings of miracles to another; and prophecy to another; and the discernings of spirits to another; varieties of languages to a different one; and the translation of foreign languages to another; ¹¹ but the one and the same Spirit is working all these things, sectioning off to each one in his own way just-as he wills.

¹⁴ Do not neglect the gift which is in you, which was given to you through prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.

²² Lay hands on no one quickly, nor share in another’s sins. Keep yourself pure!

² of the teaching of immersions and of the laying on of hands and of resurrection of the dead and of everlasting judgment.

¹ Now having called the twelve together, he gave them power and authority over all demons and to heal diseases. ² And he sent them forth to preach the kingdom of God and to heal those who are sick. ³ And he said to them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staffs, nor knapsack, nor bread, nor silver; nor to have two tunics apiece. ⁴ And into whatever house you enter, remain there and then go forth from there. ⁵ And as many as may not accept you, when you go forth from that city, shake-off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

² Therefore he said to them, The harvest is indeed large, but the workers are few, therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest, that he should put out workers into his harvest. ³ Go, behold, I am sending you forth like lambs in the midst of wolves. ⁴ Bear no money-bag, no knapsack, no shoes, and greet no one on the road. ⁵ Now into whatever house you enter, say first, Peace is to this house. ⁶ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon it, otherwise it will revisit you. ⁷ Now abide in that same house, eating and drinking from their things; for the worker is worthy of his wages. Do not proceed from house to house.
⁸ And into whatever city you enter, and if they accept you, eat such things as are placed beside you; ⁹ and heal the sick who are in it and say to them, The kingdom of God has drawn near to you. ¹⁰ But into whatever city you enter, and if they do not accept you, when you have gone out into its streets, say, ¹¹ Even the dust from your city, that was stuck to us, we wipe off at you. However, know this, that the kingdom of God has drawn near to you.

²⁸ Therefore, take-heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you as overseers, to shepherd the congregation of the Lord and God, which the Lord acquired through his own blood. ²⁹ I know this: after my goodbye, cruel wolves will be entering into you, not sparing the flock; ³⁰ and men will be standing up from among yourselves, speaking perverse things, to pull away the disciples after themselves. ³¹ Hence watch, remembering that for three years I ceased not from admonishing each one of you^\'b0 every day with tears.

¹⁷ And say to Archippus, Beware that the service which you have received in the Lord, that you should fulfill it.

²¹ I am thoroughly testifying in sight of God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the chosen messengers, in order that you should observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing according to bias.

¹³ I am commanding you in God’s sight, who gives-life to all things and of Christ Jesus, who in front of Pontius Pilate testified the good confession; ¹⁴ that you keep the commandment, unstained, unimpeachable, till the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. ¹⁵ Which in its own times, he will show, the Blessed and only Sovereign, the King of those who are reigning, and a Lord of those who have lordship over others; ¹⁶ he who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light; whom no one from man has seen, nor is able to see: to whom is honor and everlasting dominion. Amen.
¹⁷ Command the rich in this current age, not to be cavalier, nor to have hope on the uncertainty of riches, but have hope in the living God, who is richly providing to us all things toward enjoyment;

¹ Therefore, I am thoroughly testifying in the sight of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is about to judge the living and the dead according to his appearing and his kingdom. ² Preach the word. Stand-ready opportunely and inopportunely. Reprove, rebuke and encourage in all patience and teaching. ³ For the time will be coming when they will not be tolerating the sound teaching, but having itchy ears, they will be piling up for themselves teachers according to their own lusts; ⁴ and will indeed turn their ears away from the truth and their ears will be turned aside to fables. ⁵ But you, be sober in all things, suffer evil treatment, do the work of an evangelist, fully assure your service.
⁶ For I am already a drink-offering and the time of my departure stands-ready.

¹⁶ And they answered Joshua, saying, All that you have commanded us we will do and wherever you send us we will go. ¹⁷ Just-as we listened to Moses in all things, so will we listen to you. Only Jehovah your God be with you, as he was with Moses. ¹⁸ Whoever he is who will rebel against your commandment and will not listen to your words in all that you command him, he will be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage.

⁶ And the Spirit of Jehovah will come mightily upon you and you will prophesy with them and will be turned into another man.

⁹ And it was so, that, when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart. And all those signs happened that day.

⁹ And it happened, when they were gone over, that Elijah said to Elisha, Ask what I will do for you before I am taken from you. And Elisha said, I beseech you, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me. ¹⁰ And he said, You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be so to you, but if not, it will not be so.

¹⁵ And when the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho opposite him saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha. And they came to meet him and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

²³ Then Solomon sat on the throne of Jehovah as king instead of David his father and prospered and all Israel obeyed him.

²⁵ And Jehovah magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

³⁰ And you will put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim and they will be upon Aaron’s heart, when he goes in before Jehovah. And Aaron will bear the judgment of the sons of Israel upon his heart before Jehovah continually.

⁸ And he placed the breastplate upon him and he put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastplate.

¹⁷ who may go out before them and who may come in before them and who may lead them out and who may bring them in, that the congregation of Jehovah is not as sheep which have no shepherd.

⁸ And of Levi he said, Your Thummim and your Urim are with your holy man, whom you proved at Massah, with whom you contended at the waters of Meribah,

¹⁴ And the men took of their provision and did not ask counsel at the mouth of Jehovah.

¹ And it happened after the death of Joshua, that the sons of Israel asked of Jehovah, saying, Who will go up for us first against the Canaanites, to fight against them?

¹⁸ And the sons of Israel arose and went up to Bethel and asked counsel of God. And they said, Who will go up for us first to battle against the sons of Benjamin? And Jehovah said, Judah first.

²³ And the sons of Israel went up and wept before Jehovah until evening. And they asked of Jehovah, saying, Shall I again draw near to battle against the sons of Benjamin my brother? And Jehovah said, Go up against him.

²⁶ Then all the sons of Israel and all the people, went up and came to Bethel and wept and sat there before Jehovah and fasted that day until evening and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Jehovah.
²⁷ And the sons of Israel asked of Jehovah (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days, ²⁸ and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the sons of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And Jehovah said, Go up, for tomorrow I will deliver him into your hand.

¹⁰ And he inquired of Jehovah for him and gave him food and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine. ¹¹ Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub and all his father's house, the priests who were in Nob. And they came to the king, all of them.
¹² And Saul said, Hear now, you son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord. ¹³ And Saul said to him, Why have you* conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread and a sword and have inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me to lie in wait as at this day?
¹⁴ Then Ahimelech answered the king and said, And who among all your servants is so faithful as David, who is the king's son-in-law and is taken into your council and is honorable in your house? ¹⁵ Have I today begun to inquire of God for him? Be it far from me. Do not let the king impute anything to his servant, nor to all the house of my father, for your servant knows nothing of all this, less or more.

⁹ And David knew that Saul was devising mischief against him and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring here the ephod.

⁶ And when Saul inquired of Jehovah, Jehovah answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

⁷ And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, I beseech you, bring me here the ephod. And Abiathar brought there the ephod to David.

⁶³ And the governor said to them that they should not eat of the most holy things till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.

¹⁹ and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation and give him a charge in their sight.
