⁴ he says who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down and having his eyes open,

¹ After these things the word of Jehovah came to Abram in a vision, saying, Do not fear, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.

¹² And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram. And behold, a horror of great darkness fell upon him.

⁶ And he said, Hear now my words. If there is a prophet among you*, I Jehovah will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream.

²⁰ And God came to Balaam at night and said to him, If the men come to call you, rise up, go with them, but only the word which I speak to you, that will you do.

³¹ Then Jehovah opened the eyes of Balaam and he saw the messenger of Jehovah standing in the way, with his sword drawn in his hand. And he bowed his head and fell on his face.

²⁴ And he also stripped off his clothes and he also prophesied before Samuel and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?

¹⁹ Then you spoke in a vision to your holy ones and said, I have laid help upon a mighty man. I have exalted a chosen man out of the people.

²⁸ As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness all around. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of Jehovah. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face and I heard a voice speaking.

¹⁷ So he came near where I stood. And when he came, I was frightened and fell upon my face. But he said to me, Understand, O son of man, for the vision belongs to the time of the end.
¹⁸ Now as he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face toward the ground, but he touched me and set me upright.

²⁶ And the vision of the evenings and mornings which has been told is true. But shut up the vision, for it belongs to many days to come.
²⁷ And I, Daniel, fainted and was sick certain days. Then I rose up and did the king's business. And I wondered at the vision, but none understood it.

¹⁵ And when he had spoken to me according to these words, I set my face toward the ground and was mute. ¹⁶ And behold, someone in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth and spoke and said to him who stood before me, O my lord, because of the vision my pains have turned upon me and I retain no strength.

¹⁰ Now he became very hungry and wished to eat, but when those men were preparing the food, a trance fell upon him.
