²⁴ But ships will come from the coast of Kittim and they will afflict Asshur and will afflict Eber and he also will come to destruction.

⁴ And the sons of Javan were : Elishah and Tarshish, Kittim and Dodanim.

²¹ And to Shem, the father of all the sons of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were also born to him. ²² The sons of Shem were : Elam and Asshur and Arpachshad and Lud and Aram. ²³ And the sons of Aram were : Uz and Hul and Gether and Mash. ²⁴ And Arpachshad fathered Shelah and Shelah fathered Eber.
²⁵ And to Eber were born two sons. The name of the one was Peleg. For in his days the earth was divided. And his brother's name was Joktan.

¹³ And some man came who had escaped and told Abram the Hebrew. Now he dwelt by the oaks of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner. And these were allies with Abram.

²⁰ And he looked on Amalek and took up his oracle and said, Amalek was the first of the nations, but his latter end will come to destruction.

¹ The burden of Tyre. Howl, you* ships of Tarshish, for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in. It is revealed to them from the land of Kittim.

³⁵ Then the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver and the gold, was broken in pieces together and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors. And the wind carried them away, so that no place was found for them. And the stone that killed* the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

⁴⁵ Inasmuch as you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it broke in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will happen hereafter. And the dream is certain and the interpretation of it sure.

¹⁹ Then I desired to know the truth concerning the fourth beast, which was different from all of them, exceedingly fearful, whose teeth were of iron and its nails of brass, which devoured, broke in pieces and stamped the residue with its feet, ²⁰ and concerning the ten horns that were on its head and the other horn which came up and before which three fell, even that horn that had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things, whose look was greater than its fellows.

²³ Thus he said, The fourth beast will be a fourth kingdom upon earth, which will be different from all the kingdoms and will devour the whole earth and will tread it down and break it in pieces.
²⁴ And as for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings will arise. And another will arise after them and he will be different from the former. And he will put down three kings. ²⁵ And he will speak words against the Most High and will wear out the holy ones of the Most High. And he will think to change the times and the law and they will be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.
²⁶ But the judgment will be set and they will take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it to the end.

⁵ And as I was considering, behold, a male-goat came from the west over the face of the whole earth and did not touch the ground. And the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. ⁶ And he came to the ram that had the two horns, which I saw standing before the river and ran upon him in the fury of his power.
⁷ And I saw him come close to the ram. And he was moved with anger against him and killed* the ram and broke his two horns. And there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled upon him. And there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
⁸ And the male-goat magnified himself exceedingly. And when he was strong, the great horn was broken and instead of it there came up four notable horns toward the four winds of heaven.

²¹ And the rough male-goat is the king of Greece. And the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks the anointed one will be cut off and will have nothing. And the people of the prince who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary and the end of it will be with a flood. And even to the end will be war; desolations are determined. ²⁷ And he will make a firm covenant with many for one week. And in the midst of the week he will cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease. And upon the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate. And even to the full end and that determined, wrath will be poured out upon the desolate.

²⁰ Then he said, Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the ruler of Persia. And when I go forth behold, the ruler of Greece will come.

³⁰ For ships of Kittim will come against him. Therefore he will be grieved and will return and have indignation against the holy covenant and will do his pleasure. He will even return and have regard to those who forsake the holy covenant.

⁴⁵ And he will plant the tents of his palace between the sea and the glorious holy mountain, yet he will come to his end and none will help him.

¹⁵ Therefore, whenever you behold the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place, (let the one who is reading perceive),

²⁹ Because behold, the days are coming in which they will say, The fortunate ones are: barren and the wombs that did not give-birth and the breasts that did not nurse. ³⁰ Then they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall upon us, and to the hills, Hide us. ³¹ Because if they are doing these things in the green tree, what might happen in the dry?

⁴⁸ If we allow him to continue so; all will believe in him. And the Romans will be coming and taking away both our place and the nation.

² And he cried in a mighty voice, saying, Babylon the great has fallen and it has become a residence of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit and a prison of every unclean and having been hated bird. ³ Because out of the wine of the fury of her fornication all the nations have fallen, and the kings of the earth fornicated with her and the merchants of the earth were enriched from the power of her promiscuity.
⁴ And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come forth, my people, out of her, in order that you might not have fellowship together in her sins and in order that you might not receive out of her wounds, ⁵ because her sins were joined to her even up to heaven and God has remembered her wrongdoing. ⁶ Repay to her as she has also given to you and you do this double to her–double again according to her works; in the cup which she mingled, mingle to her double again. ⁷ In how-much she glorified herself and was promiscuous, give to her so-much more torment and mourning, because she says in her heart, I am sitting as a queen and I am no widow and may never see mourning. ⁸ Because of this, in one day her wounds will come–death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned in fire, because strong is the Lord God who judged her. ⁹ And the kings of the earth, who fornicated and were promiscuous with her, will weep and will grieve over her, whenever they look upon the smoke of her fire, ¹⁰ standing from afar because of their fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! Because in one hour your judgment has come. ¹¹ And the merchants of the earth will weep and will mourn over her, because no one is buying their cargo anymore; ¹² cargo of gold, silver, precious stone, pearl, fine-linen, purple, silk, scarlet, every citron wood thing, every vessel of ivory, every vessel made out of the most precious wood and from brass, iron and marble; ¹³ and cinnamon, spice, incenses, perfume, frankincense, wine, oil, fine-flour, grain, sheep, other animals, and of horses and of chariots and of bodies and souls of men. ¹⁴ And the autumn-fruits of lust of your soul have gone away from you and all things which were luxurious and bright have perished from you and you may never find them anymore. ¹⁵ The merchants of these things, who were enriched from her, will be standing from afar because of the fear of her torment, while weeping and mourning. ¹⁶ And they are saying, Woe, woe, the great city, she who has been dressed in fine-linen, and purple and scarlet and has been arrayed in gold, precious stone and pearls! ¹⁷ Because in an hour so-many riches was made desolate. And every helmsman and everyone who sails any place and sailors and as many as are working from the sea, stood from afar, ¹⁸ and were crying out, seeing the smoke of her fire, saying, What city is similar to the great city? ¹⁹ And they cast dirt upon their heads and were crying, weeping and mourning and saying, Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had their ships in the sea were enriched out of her costliness! Because in one hour she was made desolate. ²⁰ Be joyous over her: heaven and the holy-ones and the apostles and the prophets, because God has judged your condemnation from her

²¹ And a strong messenger took up a stone like a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, So Babylon, the great city, will be cast down, with a violent-impulse, and may never be found anymore. ²² And the voice of harpists and musicians and flute-players and trumpeters may never be heard in you anymore, and every craftsman of every craft may never be found in you anymore, and the voice of a millstone may never be heard in you anymore; ²³ and the light of a lamp may never appear in you anymore, and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride may never be heard in you anymore. Your merchants were the great-men of the earth, because all the nations were misled in your sorcery. ²⁴ And the bloods of prophets and of holy-ones and of all who have been slaughtered upon the earth was found in her.
