¹⁷ I see him, but not now. I behold him, but not near. There will come out a star out of Jacob and a scepter will rise out of Israel and will kill* through the corners of Moab and break down all the sons of tumult.

²⁵ And Adam knew his wife again and she bore a son and called his name Seth. For, she said, God has appointed for me another seed instead of Abel, because Cain killed him. ²⁶ And to Seth, to him there was also born a son and he called his name Enosh. Then men began to call upon the name of Jehovah.

³ And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years and fathered a son in his own likeness, according to his image and called his name Seth. ⁴ And the days of Adam were eight hundred years after he fathered Seth. And he fathered more sons and daughters. ⁵ And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years and he died.
⁶ And Seth lived a hundred and five years and fathered Enosh. ⁷ And Seth lived eight hundred and seven years after he fathered Enosh and fathered more sons and daughters. ⁸ And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years and he died.
⁹ And Enosh lived ninety years and fathered Kenan. ¹⁰ And Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years after he fathered Kenan and fathered more sons and daughters. ¹¹ And all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years and he died.

²⁸ And Lamech lived a hundred and eighty-two years and fathered a son. ²⁹ And he called his name Noah, saying, This one will comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, because of the ground which Jehovah has cursed.

¹⁰ The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and to him will the obedience of the peoples be.

²⁹ Woe to you, Moab! You are undone, O people of Chemosh. He has given his sons as fugitives and his daughters into captivity, to Sihon King of the Amorites.

³⁸ And Saul said, Draw near here, all you* chiefs of the people and know and see how this sin has been this day.

² And he killed* Moab and measured them with the line, making them to lie down on the ground. And he measured two lines to put to death and one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became servants to David and brought tribute.

⁵ But it happened, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the King of Israel.

²⁶ And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too hard for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew sword to break through to the king of Edom, but they could not. ²⁷ Then he took his eldest son who should have reigned instead of him and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great wrath against Israel and they departed from him and returned to their own land.

² And he killed* Moab and the Moabites became servants to David and brought tribute.

²⁵ But as for me I know that my Redeemer lives and at last he will stand up upon the earth. ²⁶ And after my skin, this body, is destroyed, then outside my flesh I will see God, ²⁷ whom I, even I, will see on my side and my eyes will behold and not as a stranger. My heart is consumed within me.

⁶ Your throne, O God, is everlasting and forever. A scepter of straightness is the scepter of your kingdom.

⁸ He will also have dominion from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.
⁹ Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow before him and his enemies will lick the dust.
¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and of the isles will render tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba will offer gifts. ¹¹ Yes, all kings will fall down before him. All nations will serve him.

⁷⁰ He also chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds. ⁷¹ He brought him from following the ewe-lambs that have their young, to be the shepherd of Jacob his people and Israel his inheritance.
⁷² So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

² Jehovah will send forth the rod of your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies.

⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from hereafter until everlasting. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

¹ The burden of Moab. For in a night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to nothing. For in a night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to nothing. ² They have gone up to the house and to Dibon, to the high places, to weep. Moab wails over Nebo and over Medeba. On all their heads is baldness. Every beard is cut off. ³ In their streets they gird themselves with sackcloth. On their housetops and in their broad places, everyone wails, weeping abundantly. ⁴ And Heshbon cries out and Elealeh. Their voice is heard even to Jahaz. Therefore the armed men of Moab cry aloud. His soul trembles within him.
⁵ My heart cries out for Moab. Her nobles flee to Zoar, to Eglath-shelishiyah. For they go up with weeping by the ascent of Luhith. For they raise up a cry of destruction in the way of Horonaim. ⁶ For the waters of Nimrim will be desolate, for the grass is withered away. The tender grass fails. There is no green thing.
⁷ Therefore the abundance they have gotten and what they have laid up, they will carry away over the brook of the willows. ⁸ For the cry has gone all around the borders of Moab, the wailing of it to Eglaim and the wailing of it to Beer-elim. ⁹ For the waters of Dimon are full of blood. For I will bring yet more upon Dimon, a lion upon those of Moab who escape and upon the remnant of the land.

¹ Send you* the lambs for the ruler of the land from Selah to the wilderness, to the mountain of the daughter of Zion. ² For it will be that, as wandering birds, as a scattered nest, so will the daughters of Moab be at the fords of the Arnon.
³ Give counsel, execute justice, make your shade as the night in the midst of the noonday. Hide the outcasts. Do not betray the fugitive. ⁴ Let my outcasts dwell with you. As for Moab, be a covert to him from the face of the destroyer. For the extortioner is brought to nothing. Destruction ceases. The oppressors are consumed out of the land.
⁵ And a throne will be established in loving kindness and he will sit on it in truth, in the tent of David, judging and seeking justice and swift to do righteousness.
⁶ We have heard of the pride of Moab, that he is very proud, even of his arrogance and his pride and his wrath. His boastings are nothing. ⁷ Therefore Moab will wail for Moab, everyone will wail. You* will mourn for the raisin-cakes of Kir-hareseth, utterly stricken. ⁸ For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah. The lords of the nations have broken down the choice branches of it, which reached even to Jazer, which wandered into the wilderness. Its shoots were spread abroad. They passed over the sea.
⁹ Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sibmah. I will water you with my tears, O Heshbon and Elealeh. For upon your summer fruits and upon your harvest the battle shout has fallen. ¹⁰ And gladness is taken away and joy out of the fruitful field. And there will be no singing nor joyful noise in the vineyards. No treader will tread out wine in the presses. I have made the vintage shout to cease.
¹¹ Therefore my heart roars like a harp for Moab and my inward parts for Kir-heres. ¹² And it will happen, when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself upon the high place and will come to his sanctuary to pray, that he will not prevail.
¹³ This is the word that Jehovah spoke concerning Moab in time past. ¹⁴ But now Jehovah has spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of a hireling, the glory of Moab will be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude. And the remnant will be very small and of no account.

⁴⁵ Those who fled stand without strength under the shadow of Heshbon. For a fire has gone forth out of Heshbon and a flame from the midst of Sihon and has devoured the corner of Moab and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.

⁴ From him will come out the cornerstone, from him the nail, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler together.

¹⁰ And I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication. And they will look to me whom they have pierced. And they will mourn for him, as a man mourns for his only son and will be in bitterness for him, as a man who is in bitterness for his firstborn.

² saying, Where is he who has been born the King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east and have come to worship him. ³ Now when Herod the king heard it, he was disturbed and everyone in Jerusalem with him. ⁴ And having gathering together all the high-priests and scribes of the people, he inquired from them where the Christ should be born.
⁵ Now they said to him, In Bethlehem of Judea; for thus it has been written through the prophet, ⁶ ‘And Bethlehem, a land of Judah, you are by no means least among the governors of Judah; for a leader will be coming forth from you, who will be shepherding my people Israel.’
⁷ Then Herod, having called the wise-men secretly, ascertained accurately from them the time of the star’s appearing. ⁸ And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, While you are traveling, probe out accurately the things concerning the young child. And whenever you have found him, report to me, that I may also come and may worship him. ⁹ Now having heard the king, they traveled away. And behold, the star, which they saw in the east, was preceding them until it came and stood above where the young child was.

³² He will be great and will be called the Son of the Highest and the Lord God will be giving to him the throne of his father David, ³³ and he will be reigning over the house of Jacob forever, and there will be no end of his kingdom.

⁷⁸ through the heart of mercy of our God, in which the rising of light from on high has visited us,

⁸ But he says toward the Son, ‘Your throne, O God, is forevermore; the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.

¹⁹ And we have the steadfast prophetic word, (as to a lamp appearing in a dreary place, until the day should dawn and the morning-star might rise), to which you are doing well, and taking-heed in your hearts.

¹¹ Woe to them! Because they traveled in the way of Cain and poured themselves into the error of Balaam’s reward and perished in the dispute of Korah.

¹⁴ Now Enoch, seventh from Adam, also prophesied about these people, saying, Behold, the Lord came in among tens of thousands of his holy-ones, ¹⁵ to make a judgment against all, and to convict all the ungodly of them, concerning all their works of ungodliness of which they did in ungodly ways and concerning all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

⁷ Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will be seeing him and those who stabbed him, and all the tribes of the earth will be grieving over him. Yes he comes, Amen.

¹⁵ And the seventh messenger sounded, and there became loud voices in heaven saying, The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ and he will be reigning forevermore.

¹⁶ I, Jesus, have sent my messenger to testify to you these things in the congregations. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.
