⁹ And when you* go to war in your* land against the adversary that oppresses you*, then you* will shout out an alarm with the trumpets. And you* will be remembered before Jehovah your* God and you* will be saved from your* enemies.

¹ And God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth and the waters subsided.

⁶ And Moses sent them, a thousand of every tribe, to the war, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.

⁵ And it will be, that, when they make a prolonged blast with the ram's horn and when you* hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people will shout with a great shout. And the wall of the city will fall down flat and the people will go up every man straight before him.

¹⁸ And when Jehovah raised up judges for them, then Jehovah was with the judge and saved them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge. For Jehovah regretted because of their groaning because of those who oppressed them and distressed them.

⁹ And I delivered you* out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all that oppressed you* and drove them out from before you* and gave you* their land.

³⁴ But the Spirit of Jehovah came upon Gideon and he blew a trumpet and Abiezer was gathered together after him.

¹⁶ And he divided the three hundred men into three companies and he put trumpets into the hands of all of them and empty pitchers, with torches inside the pitchers. ¹⁷ And he said to them, Look on me and do likewise, and behold, when I come to the outermost part of the camp, it will be that, as I do, so you* will do. ¹⁸ When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then blow you* the trumpets also on every side of all the camp and say, For Jehovah and for Gideon.
¹⁹ So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him, came to the outermost part of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch when they had but newly set the watch. And they blew the trumpets and smashed the pitchers that were in their hands. ²⁰ And the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers and held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands with which to blow. And they cried out, The sword of Jehovah and of Gideon.
²¹ And they stood every man in his place all around the camp. And all the army ran and they shouted and put them to flight.

⁸ And they distressed and oppressed the sons of Israel that year. Eighteen years they oppressed all the sons of Israel who were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

¹² The Sidonians also and the Amalekites and the Maonites, oppressed you*. And you* cried to me and I saved you* out of their hand.

¹⁸ And he said to the sons of Israel, Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel, I brought up Israel out of Egypt and I delivered you* out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all the kingdoms that oppressed you*,

¹⁴ And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind them. And they cried to Jehovah and the priests blew the trumpets.

⁴ Remember me, O Jehovah, with the favor that you bear to your people. O visit me with your salvation,

⁴² Their enemies also oppressed them and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

²³ who remembered us in our low estate, for his loving kindness is everlasting,

³ All you* inhabitants of the world and you* dwellers on the earth, when an ensign is lifted up on the mountains, see you* and when the trumpet is blown, hear you*.

¹ Cry aloud, spare not. Lift up your voice like a trumpet and declare to my people their transgression and to the house of Jacob their sins.

⁵ Declare in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem and say, Blow the trumpet in the land. Cry aloud and say, Assemble yourselves and let us go into the fortified cities.

¹⁹ My anguish, my anguish! I am pained at my very heart. My heart is in an uproar in me. I cannot hold my peace, because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

²¹ How long shall I see the standard and hear the sound of the trumpet?

¹ Flee for safety, you* sons of Benjamin, out of the midst of Jerusalem. And blow the trumpet in Tekoa and raise up a signal on Beth-haccherem. For evil looks forth from the north and a great destruction.

¹⁷ And I set watchmen over you*, saying, Listen to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not listen.

¹⁴ They have blown the trumpet and have made all ready, but none goes to the battle, for my wrath is upon all the multitude of it.

³ if, when he sees the sword come upon the land, he blows the trumpet and warns the people, ⁴ then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and takes no warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood will be upon his own head.
⁵ He heard the sound of the trumpet and took no warning; his blood will be upon him. But if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.
⁶ But if the watchman sees the sword come and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at the watchman's hand.

⁸ Blow you* the cornet in Gibeah and the trumpet in Ramah. Shout an alarm at Beth-aven, behind you, O Benjamin.

⁶ Shall the trumpet be blown in a city and the people not be afraid? Shall evil befall a city and Jehovah has not done it?

¹⁶ a day of the trumpet and alarm, against the fortified cities and against the high battlements.

⁸ For if the trumpet also gives an indistinct voice, who will prepare himself for war?
