¹² And they put him in confinement, that it might be declared to them at the mouth of Jehovah.

¹⁵ And Moses said to his father-in-law, Because the people come to me to inquire of God. ¹⁶ When they have a matter, they come to me and I judge between a man and his neighbor. And I make them know the statutes of God and his laws.

²³ If you will do this thing and God command you so, then you will be able to endure and all this people also will go to their place in peace.

³⁴ And they put him in confinement, because it had not been declared what should be done to him.

⁵ And Moses brought their case before Jehovah.

⁵ And Moses commanded the sons of Israel according to the word of Jehovah, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph speak right. ⁶ This is the thing which Jehovah commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them be married to whom they think best, only they will be married into the family of the tribe of their father.
