¹ And the sons of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of Jehovah, when Ehud was dead. ² And Jehovah sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan who reigned in Hazor, the captain of whose army was Sisera who dwelt in Harosheth-hagoyim. ³ And the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah, for he had nine hundred chariots of iron and he mightily oppressed the sons of Israel twenty years.
⁴ Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, she judged Israel at that time. ⁵ And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill-country of Ephraim and the sons of Israel came up to her for judgment.
⁶ And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali and said to him, Has not Jehovah, the God of Israel, commanded, saying, Go and draw near to Mount Tabor and take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun? ⁷ And I will draw Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, to you, to the river Kishon, with his chariots and his multitude and I will deliver him into your hand.
⁸ And Barak said to her, If you will go with me, then I will go, but if you will not go with me, I will not go. ⁹ And she said, I will surely go with you. Notwithstanding, the journey that you take will not be for your honor, for Jehovah will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh.
¹⁰ And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kedesh. And there went up ten thousand men at his feet and Deborah went up with him.
¹¹ Now Heber the Kenite had separated himself from the Kenites, from the sons of Hobab the brother-in-law of Moses and had pitched his tent as far as the oak in Zaanannim, which is by Kedesh. ¹² And they told Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor. ¹³ And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth-hagoyim, to the river Kishon.
¹⁴ And Deborah said to Barak, Up, for this is the day in which Jehovah has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not Jehovah gone out before you? So Barak went down from Mount Tabor and ten thousand men after him.
¹⁵ And Jehovah confused Sisera and all his chariots and all his army, with the edge of the sword before Barak. And Sisera alighted from his chariot and fled away on his feet. ¹⁶ But Barak pursued after the chariots and after the army, to Harosheth-hagoyim. And all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword. There was not a man left.
¹⁷ However Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite, for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite. ¹⁸ And Jael went out to meet Sisera and said to him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; do not fear. And he turned in to her into the tent and she covered him with a rug.
¹⁹ And he said to her, I beseech you, Give me a little water to drink, because I am thirsty. And she opened a skin-container of milk and gave him a drink and covered him. ²⁰ And he said to her, Stand in the door of the tent and it will be, when any man comes and inquires of you and says, Is there any man here? that you will say, No.
²¹ Then Jael Heber's wife took a tent-stake and took a hammer in her hand and went softly to him and struck the pin into his temples and it pierced through into the ground, for he was in a deep sleep, so he fainted and died.
²² And behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him and said to him, Come and I will show you the man whom you seek. And he came to her, and behold, Sisera lay dead and the tent-stake was in his temples.
²³ So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the sons of Israel. ²⁴ And the hand of the sons of Israel prevailed more and more against Jabin the king of Canaan until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.

²³ And if by these things you* will not be reformed to me, but will walk contrary to me, ²⁴ then I also will walk contrary to you* and I will kill* you*, even I, seven times for your* sins. ²⁵ And I will bring a sword upon you* that will execute the vengeance of the covenant and you* will be gathered together within your* cities. And I will send the pestilence among you* and you* will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

¹¹ And the sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of Jehovah and served the Baals.

¹⁹ But it happened, when the judge was dead, that they turned back and dealt more corruptly than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them and to bow down to them. They did not cease from their practices, nor from their stubborn way.
²⁰ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel and he said, Because this nation has transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers and has not listened to my voice,

⁷ And the sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of Jehovah and forgot Jehovah their God and served the Baals.

¹² And the sons of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of Jehovah. And Jehovah strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel because they had done what was evil in the sight of Jehovah.

¹ And the sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of Jehovah and Jehovah delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.

⁶ And the sons of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of Jehovah and served the Baals and the Ashtaroth and the gods of Syria and the gods of Sidon and the gods of Moab and the gods of the sons of Ammon and the gods of the Philistines. And they forsook Jehovah and did not serve him.

²³ Their sons you also multiplied as the stars of heaven and brought them into the land concerning which you said to their fathers that they should go in to possess it.
²⁴ So the sons went in and possessed the land. And you subdued the inhabitants of the land before them, the Canaanites and gave them into their hands, with their kings and the peoples of the land, that they might do with them as they would. ²⁵ And they took fortified cities and a fat land and possessed houses full of all good things, cisterns hewn out, vineyards and olive-groves and fruit trees in abundance. So they ate and were filled and became fat and delighted themselves in your great goodness.
²⁶ Nevertheless they were disobedient and rebelled against you and cast your law behind their back and killed your prophets who testified against them to turn them again to you and they worked great provocations.
²⁷ Therefore you delivered them into the hand of their adversaries, who distressed them. And in the time of their trouble, when they cried to you, you heard from heaven and according to your great mercies you gave them saviors who saved them out of the hand of their adversaries.
²⁸ But after they had rest, they again did evil before you. Therefore you left them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them. Yet when they returned and cried to you, you heard from heaven and many times you delivered them according to your mercies, ²⁹ and testified against them, that you might bring them again to your law. Yet they dealt proudly and did not listen to your commandments, but sinned against your ordinances (which if a man does, he will live in them) and withdrew the shoulder and stiffened their neck and would not hear.
³⁰ Yet many years you prolonged with them and testified against them by your Spirit through your prophets. Yet they would not listen. Therefore you gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

⁴³ Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their counsel and were brought low in their iniquity.
⁴⁴ Nevertheless he regarded their distress when he heard their cry. ⁴⁵ And he remembered his covenant for them and relented according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.

³ O Jehovah, do not your eyes look upon truth? You have stricken them, but they were not grieved. You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than a rock. They have refused to return.

¹ And it happened, when Jabin king of Hazor heard of it, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon and to the king of Shimron and to the king of Achshaph,

¹⁰ And Joshua turned back at that time and took Hazor and killed* the king of it with the sword, for Hazor was formerly the head of all those kingdoms. ¹¹ And they killed* all the souls who were in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them. There was none left that breathed and he burnt Hazor with fire.

³⁶ and Adamah and Ramah and Hazor,

¹⁴ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that despoiled them. And he sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies. ¹⁵ Wherever they went out, the hand of Jehovah was against them for evil, as Jehovah had spoken and as Jehovah had sworn to them. And they were exceedingly distressed.

¹³ And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth-hagoyim, to the river Kishon.

¹⁶ But Barak pursued after the chariots and after the army, to Harosheth-hagoyim. And all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword. There was not a man left.

⁷ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the sons of Ammon.

⁹ But they forgot Jehovah their God and he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the army of Hazor and into the hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the king of Moab and they fought against them.

⁹ Do to them as to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon,

¹ Jehovah says thus, Where is the document of your* mother's divorcement, with which I have put her away? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you*? Behold, for your* iniquities you* were sold and for your* transgressions your* mother was put away.

²⁵ But he did not have anything to repay him with, so his lord commanded him and his wife and children and all things, as many things as he was holding, to be sold and the money to be repaid to him.

²⁹ and you will grope at noonday, as the blind man gropes in darkness. And you will not prosper in your ways. And you will only be oppressed and robbed always and there will be none to save you.

³³ The fruit of your ground and all your labors, will a nation eat up which you do not know. And you will only be oppressed and crushed always,

⁴⁷ Because you served not Jehovah your God with joyfulness and with gladness of heart, by reason of the abundance of all things, ⁴⁸ therefore you will serve your enemies that Jehovah will send against you, in hunger and in thirst and in nakedness and in want of all things. And he will put a yoke of iron upon your neck, until he has destroyed you.

¹⁶ And the sons of Joseph said, The hill-country is not enough for us and all the Canaanites who dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both those who are in Beth-shean and its towns and those who are in the valley of Jezreel.

¹⁹ And Jehovah was with Judah and drove out those of the hill-country. But they could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley because they had chariots of iron.

⁹ And when the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah, Jehovah raised up a savior to the sons of Israel, who saved them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.

¹⁵ But when the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah, Jehovah raised up for them a savior, Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. And the sons of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.

⁸ They chose new gods, then war was in the gates. Was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?

¹⁶ And they put away the foreign gods from among them and served Jehovah. And his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

⁸ And the sons of Israel said to Samuel, Do not cease to cry to Jehovah our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.

¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you and you will glorify me.

³⁴ When he killed them, then they inquired after him and they returned and sought God earnestly.

⁴² Their enemies also oppressed them and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

²⁷ who say to a block of wood, You are my father and to a stone, You have brought me forth. For they have turned their back to me and not their face.
But in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise and save us. ²⁸ But where are your gods that you have made you? Let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble. For according to the number of your cities are your gods, O Judah.

²⁰ And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.

¹⁴ So Hilkiah the priest and Ahikam and Achbor and Shaphan and Asaiah, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the second quarter) and they spoke with her.

¹⁴ Remember, O my God, Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works and also the prophetess Noadiah and the rest of the prophets, who would have put me in fear.

²⁸ And it will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh and your* sons and your* daughters will prophesy. Your* old men will dream dreams. Your* young men will see visions. ²⁹ And also I will pour out my Spirit upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days.

⁴ For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of bondage. And I sent before you Moses, Aaron and Miriam.

³⁶ And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, out of the tribe of Asher (she had advanced in many days, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity,

⁹ Now there was to this one four prophesying virgin daughters.

⁵ But every woman praying or prophesying with the head unveiled shames her head; for it is one and the same thing, as if she had been shaved.

²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bondservant nor free man, there is no male and female; for you all are one in Christ Jesus.

⁸ And Deborah Rebekah's nurse died and she was buried below Bethel under the oak. And the name of it was called Allon-bacuth.

¹³ And it happened on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people and the people stood about Moses from the morning to the evening.

¹⁶ When they have a matter, they come to me and I judge between a man and his neighbor. And I make them know the statutes of God and his laws.

¹⁹ Listen now to my voice. I will give you counsel and God be with you. You be a leader for the people toward God and bring you the cases to God.

²⁶ and they judged the people at all seasons. The hard cases they brought to Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.

⁸ If there arise a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates, then you will arise and get you up to the place which Jehovah your God will choose. ⁹ And you will come to the priests the Levites and to the judge who will be in those days and you will inquire. And they will show you the sentence of judgment.
¹⁰ And you will do according to the tenor of the sentence which they will show you from that place which Jehovah will choose. And you will observe to do according to all that they will teach you, ¹¹ according to the tenor of the law which they will teach you and according to the judgment which they will tell you, you will do. You will not turn aside from the sentence, which they will show you, to the right hand, nor to the left.
¹² And the man who does presumptuously, in not listening to the priest who stands to minister there before Jehovah your God, or to the judge, even that man will die and you will put away the evil from Israel.

² And it went out from Bethel to Luz and passed along to the border of the Archites to Ataroth,

²² and Beth-arabah and Zemaraim and Bethel,

²⁵ Gibeon and Ramah and Beeroth,

¹ Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim-zophim of the hill-country of Ephraim. And his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite.

¹⁹ And they rose up in the morning early and worshiped before Jehovah and returned and came to their house to Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife and Jehovah remembered her.

¹⁶ And when the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to Ekron the same day. ¹⁷ And these are the golden tumors which the Philistines returned for a trespass offering to Jehovah: for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Ashkelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one.

¹ And Samuel died. And all Israel gathered themselves together and lamented him and buried him in his house at Ramah. And David arose and went down to the wilderness of Paran.

² And Absalom rose up early and stood beside the way of the gate. And it was so, that, when any man had a suit which should come to the king for judgment, then Absalom called to him and said, Of what city are you? And he said, Your servant is of one of the tribes of Israel. ³ And Absalom said to him, See, your matters are good and right, but there is no man appointed by the king to hear you. ⁴ Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man who has any suit or case might come to me and I would do for him justice!
⁵ And it was so, that, when any man came near to him bowed-down, he put forth his hand and took hold of him and kissed him. ⁶ And on this manner Absalom did to all Israel who came to the king for judgment. So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

¹⁵ Jehovah says thus: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping. Rachel weeping for her children, she refused to be comforted for her children, because they are not.

⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage. Do not be frightened, neither be dismayed, for Jehovah your God is with you wherever you go.

³² The sixth lot came out for the sons of Naphtali, even for the sons of Naphtali according to their families.

³⁷ and Kedesh and Edrei and En-hazor,

³² And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer and Hammoth-dor with its suburbs and Kartan with its suburbs; three cities.

¹⁰ And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kedesh. And there went up ten thousand men at his feet and Deborah went up with him.

¹ Then Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam sang on that day, saying,

¹⁴ Out of Ephraim, those whose root is in Amalek, after you, Benjamin, among your peoples, out of Machir, came down governors and out of Zebulun those who draw out the marshal's staff. ¹⁵ And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah, as was Issachar, so was Barak, into the valley they rushed forth at his feet. By the watercourses of Reuben there were great resolves of heart.
¹⁶ Why did you sit among the sheepfolds, to hear the piping for the flocks? At the watercourses of Reuben there were great searches of heart. ¹⁷ Gilead abode beyond the Jordan. And Dan, why did he remain in ships? Asher sat still at the haven of the sea and abode by his creeks.
¹⁸ Zebulun was a people who jeopardized their lives to the death and Naphtali, upon the high places of the field.

¹⁸ Then he said to Zebah and Zalmunna, What manner of men were they whom you* killed at Tabor? And they answered, As you are, so were they. Each one resembled the sons of a king.

³ Then you will go on forward from there and you will come to the oak of Tabor. And there will meet you there three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids and another carrying three loaves of bread and another carrying a jug of wine.

⁶ Arise, O Jehovah, in your anger. Lift up yourself against the rage of my adversaries and awake for me the justice you have commanded.

¹² The north and the south, you have created them. Tabor and Hermon rejoice in your name.

² Set up an ensign upon the bare mountain. Lift up the voice to them. Wave the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles. ³ I have commanded my consecrated ones, yes, I have called my mighty men for my anger, even my proudly rejoicing ones.
⁴ The noise of a multitude in the mountains, as of a great people! The noise of a tumult of the kingdoms of the nations gathered together! Jehovah of hosts is mustering the army for the battle. ⁵ They come from a far country, from the outermost part of heaven, even Jehovah and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.

¹⁸ As I live, says the King, whose name is Jehovah of hosts, surely like Tabor among the mountains and like Carmel by the sea, so will he come.

¹ Hear this, O you* priests and listen, O house of Israel and listen, O house of the king, for to you* is the judgment. For you* have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread upon Tabor.

⁴⁷ For so the Lord has commanded to us, saying, ‘I have placed you for a light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to the outermost parts of the earth.’

³² And what more should I say? For the time will fail me if I describe the things concerning Gideon, Barak, and both Samson and Jephthah; both David and Samuel, and the prophets:

⁴ And I will harden Pharaoh's heart and he will follow after them and I will get for me honor upon Pharaoh and upon all his army and the Egyptians will know that I am Jehovah. And they did so.

¹³ And if a man does not lie in wait, but God delivers him into his hand, then I will appoint for you a place where he will flee.

⁷ And you* will rise up from the ambush and take possession of the city, for Jehovah your* God will deliver it into your* hand.

⁸ And Jehovah said to Joshua, Fear them not, for I have delivered them into your hands. There will not a man of them stand before you.

⁶ And Jehovah said to Joshua, Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow at this time I will deliver them up all slain before Israel. You will hock their horses and burn their chariots with fire.

²⁰ For it was of Jehovah to harden their hearts, to come against Israel in battle, that he might utterly destroy them, that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them as Jehovah commanded Moses.

¹⁴ And Deborah said to Barak, Up, for this is the day in which Jehovah has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not Jehovah gone out before you? So Barak went down from Mount Tabor and ten thousand men after him.

²¹ The river Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, march on with strength.

¹⁰ Behold, this day your eyes have seen how that Jehovah had delivered you today into my hand in the cave. And some commanded me kill you, but I spared you. And I said, I will not put forth my hand against my lord, for he is Jehovah's anointed.

¹⁸ And you have declared this day how that you have dealt well with me, inasmuch as when Jehovah had delivered me up into your hand, you killed me not.

⁴⁰ and Elijah said to them, Take the prophets of Baal; do not let one of them escape. And they took them and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon and killed them there.

⁹ Do to them as to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon, ¹⁰ who perished at En-dor, who became as manure for the earth.

¹⁰ The lord Jehovah says thus: It will happen in that day, that things will come into your mind and you will devise an evil plan.
¹¹ And you will say, I will go up to the land of un-walled villages. I will go to those who are at rest, who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls and having neither bars nor gates, ¹² to take the spoil and to take the prey, to turn your hand against the waste places that are now inhabited and against the people who are gathered out of the nations, who have gotten cattle and goods, who dwell in the middle of the earth.
¹³ Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions of it, will say to you, Have you come to take the spoil? Have you assembled your company to take the prey, to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take great spoil?
¹⁴ Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, The lord Jehovah says thus: In that day when my people Israel dwell securely, will you not know it?
¹⁵ And you will come from your place out of the outermost parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding upon horses, a great company and a mighty army. ¹⁶ And you will come up against my people Israel, as a cloud to cover the land. It will happen in the latter days, that I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when I will be made holy in you, O Gog, before their eyes.

¹¹ You* hasten and come, all you* nations all around and gather yourselves together. Cause your mighty ones to come down there, O Jehovah. ¹² Let the nations move themselves and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the nations all around. ¹³ Put you* in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread you*, for the winepress is full, the vats overflow. For their wickedness is great.
¹⁴ Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of Jehovah is near in the valley of decision.

¹⁰ And Moses said to Jehovah, Oh, Lord, I am not a man of words, neither yesterday nor in any time past, nor since you have spoken to your servant, because I am slow of speech and of a slow tongue. ¹¹ And Jehovah said to him, Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes a man dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, Jehovah? ¹² Now therefore go and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you will speak.
¹³ And he said, Oh, Lord, I beseech you, send by the hand of him whom you will send.
¹⁴ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Moses and he said, Is there not Aaron your brother the Levite? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he comes forth to meet you and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

³⁰ But he was afraid, seeing the strong wind, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me.
³¹ Now Jesus immediately stretched out his hand, and grabbed him, and says to him, You of small faith, why were you skeptical?

²⁴ Blessed above women will Jael be, the wife of Heber the Kenite. Blessed will she be above women in the tent. ²⁵ He asked water. She gave him milk. She brought him butter in a lordly dish. ²⁶ She put her hand to the tent-stake and her right hand to the workmen's hammer. And with the hammer she killed* Sisera; she struck through his head. Yes, she pierced and struck through his temples. ²⁷ At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay. At her feet he bowed, he fell. Where he bowed, there he fell down dead.

⁵⁴ Then he called hastily to the young man his armor bearer and said to him, Draw your sword and kill me, that men not say of me, A woman killed him. And his young man thrust him through and he died.

³⁰ Therefore Jehovah, the God of Israel, says, I said indeed that your house and the house of your father, should walk before me everlasting, but now Jehovah says, Be it far from me, for those who honor me I will honor and those who despise me will be lightly esteemed.

²¹ The matter is not so, but a man of the hill-country of Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, has lifted up his hand against the king, even against David. Deliver him only and I will depart from the city. And the woman said to Joab, Behold, his head will be thrown to you over the wall.
²² Then the woman went to all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri and threw it out to Joab. And he blew the trumpet and they were dispersed from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem to the king.

¹⁸ And they withstood Uzziah the king and said to him, It does not pertain to you, Uzziah, to burn incense to Jehovah, but to the priests the sons of Aaron who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary. For you have trespassed, neither will it be for your honor from Jehovah God.

⁸ And all these your servants will come down to me and bow themselves down to me, saying, You get out and all the people who follow you. And after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger.

⁶ And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali and said to him, Has not Jehovah, the God of Israel, commanded, saying, Go and draw near to Mount Tabor and take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun?

¹⁵ And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah, as was Issachar, so was Barak, into the valley they rushed forth at his feet. By the watercourses of Reuben there were great resolves of heart.

¹⁸ Zebulun was a people who jeopardized their lives to the death and Naphtali, upon the high places of the field.

²⁷ And now this present which your servant has brought to my lord, let it be given to the young men who follow my lord.

¹¹ And the King of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let he who girds on his armor boast himself as he who puts it off.

¹⁸ And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that you* have come so soon today?

¹ Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the wilderness and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

¹ Now Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses and for Israel his people, how that Jehovah had brought Israel out of Egypt.

²⁹ And Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, We are journeying to the place of which Jehovah said, I will give it to you*. You come with us and we will do you good, for Jehovah has spoken good concerning Israel.

²¹ And he looked on the Kenite and took up his oracle and said, Strong is your dwelling-place and your nest is set in the rock.

³³ And their border was from Heleph, from the oak in Zaanannim and Adami-nekeb and Jabneel, to Lakkum. And the goings out of it were at the Jordan.

¹⁶ And the sons of the Kenite, Moses' brother-in-law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the sons of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which is in the south of Arad and they went and dwelt with the people.

¹² and it turned from Sarid eastward toward the sun-rising to the border of Chisloth-tabor and it went out to Daberath and went up to Japhia.

³⁴ And the border turned westward to Aznoth-tabor and went out from there to Hukkok and it reached to Zebulun on the south and reached to Asher on the west and to Judah at the Jordan toward the sun-rising.

² And Jehovah sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan who reigned in Hazor, the captain of whose army was Sisera who dwelt in Harosheth-hagoyim. ³ And the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah, for he had nine hundred chariots of iron and he mightily oppressed the sons of Israel twenty years.

⁷ And I will draw Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, to you, to the river Kishon, with his chariots and his multitude and I will deliver him into your hand.

¹⁴ And Lot went out and spoke to his sons in-law, who married his daughters and said, Up, you* get out of this place, because Jehovah will destroy the city. But he seemed as a man jesting, to his sons-in-law.

⁴ And when they were gone out of the city and were not yet far off, Joseph said to his steward, Up, follow after the men and when you overtake them, say to them, Why have you* rewarded evil for good?

³ Know therefore this day, that Jehovah your God is he who goes over before you as a devouring fire. He will destroy them and he will bring them down before you. So you will drive them out and make them to perish quickly, as Jehovah has spoken to you.

¹³ Up, sanctify the people and say, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow. For Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel, There is what has been set apart in the midst of you, O Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you* take away the devoted thing from among you*.

²⁸ And he said to her, Up and let us be going, but there was no answering. Then he took her up upon the donkey and the man rose up and got to his place.

²⁶ And they arose early. And it happened about the dawning of the day, that Samuel called to Saul on the housetop, saying, Up, that I may send you away. And Saul arose and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad.

²⁴ And it will be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you will move yourself, for then Jehovah has gone out before you to kill* the army of the Philistines.

⁷ O God, when you went forth before your people, when you marched through the wilderness (Selah) ⁸ the earth trembled, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God, Sinai at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

¹² For you* will not go out in haste, nor will you* go by flight. For Jehovah will go before you* and the God of Israel will be your* rearward.

¹³ The breaker has gone up before them. They have broken forth and passed on to the gate and have gone out there. And their king has passed on before them and Jehovah at the head of them.

¹⁰ And Jehovah confused them before Israel and he killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon and chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth-horon and killed* them to Azekah and to Makkedah.

²⁰ From heaven the stars fought; from their courses they fought against Sisera. ²¹ The river Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, march on with strength.

⁶ For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great army. And they said one to another, Behold, the King of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.

¹⁵ Then the men of Judah gave a shout. And as the men of Judah shouted, it happened, that God killed* Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
¹⁶ And the sons of Israel fled before Judah and God delivered them into their hand. ¹⁷ And Abijah and his people killed them with a great slaughter. So there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.

⁷ And you* will chase your* enemies and they will fall before you* by the sword. ⁸ And five of you* will chase a hundred and a hundred of you* will chase ten thousand and your* enemies will fall before you* by the sword.

¹⁹ but stay you* not. Pursue after your* enemies and kill* the hindmost of them. Do not allow them to enter into their cities, for Jehovah your* God has delivered them into your* hand.
²⁰ And it happened, when Joshua and the sons of Israel had made an end of killing them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed and the remnant which remained of them had entered into the fortified cities,

⁸ And Jehovah delivered them into the hand of Israel and they killed* them and chased them to great Sidon and to Misrephoth-maim and to the valley of Mizpeh eastward. And they killed* them until they left them none remaining.

³⁵ Let sinners be consumed out of the earth and let the wicked be no more.
Praise Jehovah, O my soul. Praise Jehovah.

¹⁷ who brings forth the chariot and horse, the army and the mighty man (they lie down together; they will not rise; they are extinct; they are quenched as a wick):

¹² For as many as have sinned without the law will also perish without the law. And as many as have sinned under the law will be judged through the law. ¹³ For the judgment is merciless to the one who has not practiced mercy; mercy wins over judgment.

⁶ In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied and the travelers walked through byways.

²⁴ Blessed above women will Jael be, the wife of Heber the Kenite. Blessed will she be above women in the tent.

¹⁹ He leads priests away stripped and overthrows the mighty. ²⁰ He removes the speech of the trustworthy and takes away the understanding of the elders. ²¹ He pours contempt upon rulers and weakens the strength of the strong.

⁷ The steps of his strength will be restricted and his own counsel will cast him down. ⁸ For he is cast into a net by his own feet and he walks upon the toils. ⁹ A trap will take him by the heel. A snare will lay hold on him. ¹⁰ A noose is hid for him in the ground and a trap for him in the way.
¹¹ Terrors will make him afraid on every side and will chase him at his heels. ¹² His strength will be weakened by hunger and calamity will be ready at his side.

¹¹ Pour forth the overflowing of your anger and look upon everyone who is proud and humble him.
¹² Look on everyone who is proud, and bring him low and tread down the wicked where they stand.

³⁵ I have seen a wicked man in great power and spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil. ³⁶ But I passed by, and behold, he was not. Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.

²² Let their table be a trap before them, and to those at peace, let it be a snare.

⁴⁰ He pours contempt upon rulers and makes them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.

²³ A man's pride will bring him low, but he who is of a lowly spirit will obtain honor.

²¹ There is no peace, says my God, to the wicked.

¹⁹ As if a man fled from a lion and a bear met him, or went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall and a serpent bit him. ²⁰ Shall not the day of Jehovah be darkness and not light, even very dark and no brightness in it?

¹⁹ And Elisha said to them, This is not the way, neither is this the city. Follow me and I will bring you* to the man whom you* seek. And he led them to Samaria.

⁴³ behold, I am standing by the fountain of water and let it happen, that the maiden who comes out to draw, to whom I will say, I beseech you, give me a little water from your pitcher to drink,

²⁵ He asked water. She gave him milk. She brought him butter in a lordly dish. ²⁶ She put her hand to the tent-stake and her right hand to the workmen's hammer. And with the hammer she killed* Sisera; she struck through his head. Yes, she pierced and struck through his temples.

¹⁰ So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, I beseech you, fetch me a little water in a vessel that I may drink.

¹⁷ The poor and needy seek water and there is none and their tongue fails for thirst. I, Jehovah, will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

⁷ A woman from Samaria comes to dip-out water. Jesus says to her, Give to me some water to drink.

³ And the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men who came to you, who have entered into your house, for they have come to search out all the land.
⁴ And the woman took the two men and hid them. And she said, Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know from where they were. ⁵ And it happened about the time of the shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out. Where the men went I do not know. Pursue after them quickly, for you* will overtake them.

²⁰ And Absalom's servants came to the woman to the house and they said, Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan? And the woman said to them, They have gone over the brook of water. And when they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.

²¹ And Ehud put forth his left hand and took the sword from his right thigh and thrust it into his body.

³¹ And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, who killed* six hundred men of the Philistines with an cattle-prod and he also saved Israel.

¹⁵ And he found a fresh jawbone of a donkey and put forth his hand and took it and killed* a thousand men with it.

⁴³ And the Philistine said to David, Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.

⁴⁹ And David put his hand in his bag and took from there a stone and slung it and killed* the Philistine in his forehead. And the stone sank into his forehead and he fell upon his face to the earth.
⁵⁰ So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone and killed* the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David.

⁷ Arise, O Jehovah. Save me, O my God. Because you have struck all my enemies upon the cheek bone. You have broken the teeth of the wicked.

¹⁹ For it has been written, ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and I will reject the understanding of the intelligent ones.’

²⁷ But God chose the foolish things of the world, in order that he might shame the wise, and God chose the weak things of the world, in order that he might shame the strong;

³ and I will bring back all the people to you. The man whom you seek is as if all returned, so all the people will be in peace.

¹⁰ And even he who is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, will utterly melt, for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man and those who are with him are valiant men. ¹¹ But I counsel that all Israel be gathered together to you, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude and that you go to battle in your own person. ¹² So we will come upon him in some place where he will be found and we will light upon him as the dew falls on the ground and of him and of all the men who are with him we will not leave so much as one.
¹³ Moreover, if he is gathered into a city, then all Israel will bring ropes to that city and we will draw it into the river until there is not one small stone found there.
¹⁴ And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For Jehovah had commanded to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that Jehovah might bring evil upon Absalom.
¹⁵ Then Hushai said to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel and thus and thus have I counseled.

¹⁸ Is not Jehovah your* God with you*? And has he not given you* rest on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand and the land is subdued before Jehovah and before his people.

²⁴ So the sons went in and possessed the land. And you subdued the inhabitants of the land before them, the Canaanites and gave them into their hands, with their kings and the peoples of the land, that they might do with them as they would.

³⁹ For you have girded me with strength to the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.

⁴⁷ even the God who executes vengeance for me and subdues peoples under me.

³ He subdues peoples under us and nations under our feet.

¹⁴ I would soon subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their adversaries.

²⁸ But whenever all things have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to the one who did subject all things to him, in order that God may be all in all.

³³ who through faith conquered kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, sealed the mouths of lions,

¹² In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from the beginning even to the end.
